“Adoni has watched our pup many times for one and two week periods. We have complete confidence in her . Our little Yorkie has come to love and enjoy spending time with Adoni. We are always getting notes and pics sent to us while we are away and have come to consider her a good friend”

“Jakiah was gracious enough to take our doggo at the last minute. She was kind and extremely responsive. She sent several updates with photos. She was really accommodating for our pet who tends to be a little particular in his ways. Very grateful for her support.”

About: I was a zookeeper for 15+ years and have experience with a plethora of species. I have fostered animals of all kinds through different rescue organizations. I am a large breed person who currently has a smaller dog and cat. I spent many of my zookeeping years training animals, and have experience with strong stubborn dog breeds. I thoroughly enjoy a senior pet who will cuddle on the couch while I drink my coffee. I currently work from 9-1:30, with a spouse that works from home. My schedule allows plenty of time for morning walks and afternoon love and care. I am available for boarding most days, and dog walking, house checks in afternoons. A large portion of my yard is fenced so there is plenty of room for your dogs to stretch their legs outside of walks. I have a 30lb senior dog at home who occasionally enjoys a new companion. Otherwise my children love animals and always enjoy a new playmate, while being respectful of their boundaries. I prefer crating dogs whenever we are not home, at least until we know them and how they interact with my pets. I have crates from small to XXL so no need to bring your own.

About: I've been a passionate dog owner since I was 8 years old giving me well over two decades of hands-on experience with canine care and behavior. My background goes far beyond daily feeding and walks. I've personally assisted in delivering two litters of puppies, so I am comfortable with everything from whelping and newborn puppy care to handling unexpected situations with patience and confidence. Whether your pup needs gentle care, active play, or experienced handling, they'll be treated with the absolute highest standard of love and safety in my care. As a stay-at-home mom, my home is active, organized, and full of life! Being home full-time gives me a super flexible schedule, meaning your pet will rarely be left alone. I am available throughout the entire day for frequent potty breaks, backyard playtime, and continuous supervision. Whether you need daytime daycare or overnight boarding, pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily family routine, ensuring your dog gets constant companionship and attention. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I offer a warm, welcoming, and closely supervised home environment where guest pets are treated like family. We have two super friendly Labrador Retrievers who love making new friends and playing host! Because I am home throughout the day, your dog will enjoy frequent leashed outdoor potty breaks, regular walks, structured playtime, and constant supervision. I closely follow all care instructions, sticking strictly to your pet's feeding and medication schedules to ensure a safe, smooth, and stress-free stay.

“Sarah and family were wonderful. The dogs seemed like they had fun and were tired out afterwards. I loved seeing the photo updates while we were gone. And it was nice that she was flexible with our drop off and pick up times. I would definitely use her again.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that I am a lifelong pet owner who truly understands that pets are family. I have owned both dogs and cats for most of my life and currently have two Basset Hounds, Cooper (10) and Charlie (5), giving me firsthand experience caring for dogs at different life stages. Because Cooper is a senior dog, I understand the extra patience, attention, and routine that older pets often need. I am comfortable following detailed care instructions, monitoring for changes in behavior, and ensuring pets receive the individualized care they deserve. I also have experience caring for pets for friends and family, so I understand the importance of communication and providing regular updates to give owners peace of mind while they're away. I pride myself on being dependable, attentive, and patient. Whether your pet enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I will make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. My goal is to care for your pet the same way I care for my own, with kindness, care, and lots of love. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and family life. I am a single mom to my active 14-year-old son, who shares my love for animals. We both enjoy spending time with pets, and caring for animals is something that is already a meaningful part of our everyday lives. I work full-time from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but I have a one-hour lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM that allows me to check on pets, provide potty breaks, walks, feedings, or companionship during the day. After work, I am available in the evenings to provide additional care, walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is for pets to have a consistent routine and feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I currently care for my two Basset Hounds, Cooper and Charlie, and they are an important part of our family. I am committed to making sure every pet in my care receives the exercise, affection, companionship, and individual attention they need. In my home, my two Basset Hounds, Cooper and Charlie, have access to our fenced backyard through a doggy door, allowing them to go outside as needed throughout the day. They have a consistent routine that includes feeding, fresh water, exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection and attention. When caring for pets in a client's home, I strive to maintain their normal routine as closely as possible. This includes feeding according to their schedule, providing fresh water, taking them for walks or potty breaks, cleaning up after them, administering basic care as instructed, and spending quality time with them. I understand that pets are most comfortable when their routine remains consistent, and I will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect that I give my own.
“Very accommodating and understanding with travel delays. Dogs looked healthy and happy. Best part was she provided a complementary dog wash for the boys . Definitely recommend.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
