Natalie was GREAT!! Our cats LOVED her, probably more than they like us even! She was able to coax our very curmudgeonly elderly cat out from her hiding place and interact with her on each of the home visits! Natalie took great photos and shared pertinent and expansive notes about her home visits, too, which put us at ease as we vacationed. Would definitely book again! (Oh, and she brought in our delivered packages while we were away, without prompting, which was much appreciated!)

About: Growing up with parents that loved to pick up strays my love for animals came naturally. I grew up taking care of dogs and cats from all different shapes and sizes. My favorite lesson in life is that a man’s best friend is their pet. I want to help pet parents take the best care of their best friend while they are away! I am currently in college taking evening classes so i have my whole morning off to spend with your furry friends!! I enjoy going on nature walks and nothing would make me happier then to have your furry friend accompanying me I enjoy taking dogs to doggy parks or nature walks. Every dog is different so not all walks look the same. I like to encourage exercise and play time in my time with them as well as some downtime and bonding.

About: Dogs have been apart of my life for many years. I’ve been a dog owner for four years and have spent a decade pet sitting for friends and family. More recently, I’ve provided in-home care for a senior dog while their family travels, ensuring they remaining comfortable and maintained their regular schedule in a familiar environment. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and reliable to care for your pet. I work full time, however I have flexible evening schedule after 6:00pm and I am available on both Saturdays and Sunday with morning, afternoon and evening walking hours. I also have more available schedule on Tuesdays with more flexibility. As a dog walker I keep your dog safe by walking them on a lease at all times in the designated areas that your dog is familiar walking.

About: Growing up, I was always the person that friends and neighbors called when they needed someone to care for their furry friends. I’ve looked after dogs with all sorts of personalities, including seniors who benefit from extra patience and attention. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I focus on providing reliable care, sticking to routines, and keeping owners updated every step of the way! As a grad student, I have an extremely flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate! I’m available most weekdays and weekends for walks, drop-ins, and house sitting. My classes take up a small portion of my week, which means more playtime and cuddles for your pet! My priority is making sure every pet feels safe and cared for while maintaining the routine they’re used to. I follow instructions closely regarding feeding, exercise, meds, crate routines, and any other specific needs. I understand that every animal is different, so I take time to learn their personalities and boundaries. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and in good hands while you’re away.

About: I’ve taken care of my own dog for about 7 years, but I’ve had the opportunity to take care of my friends’ pets throughout the years. I’ve taken care of young and old pups as well as small to large. My availability is very flexible as I work part-time. My part-time work is flexible as well since it’s work I can do outside of set hours. I have a pug named Dorado who can be a companion to your dog while you’re away. I’m open to doing home visits as well as having your dog stay.

Throughout the stay, Kelly kept me updated with messages, photos, and thoughtful check-ins that really put my mind at ease. My pet was happy, relaxed, and clearly loved being with her. About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my experience with both senior dogs and puppies. I grew up caring for my neighbors' dogs, trained my own dog as a puppy, and I currently care for a senior dog, so I understand their special needs. I’m also familiar with managing different pet temperaments and have experience caring for my own cat, which has given me a well-rounded ability to handle various pets. I’m confident I can provide the attentive, loving care each animal deserves. I have a few part time jobs that allow me extra time to hang out with your animals. I also have weekend and evening flexibility. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, safety and trust are my top priorities. I ensure the environment is pet-proofed and provide plenty of space for exercise, play, and rest. I follow any specific care instructions, from feeding schedules to medications.

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs, including my family's two adorable King Charles Spaniels, which sparked my lifelong love for animals. Because my own pups were prone to health issues, I am incredibly patient and experienced in administering medication and providing attentive care. I dog-sit for friends and family, managing everything from feeding schedules to playtime. I regularly visit the Orange County Animal Shelter to take shelter dogs out through their Dog’s Day Out program, giving me experience with a wide variety of breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. Whether your pup needs a high-energy playdate, a patient hand for medication, or just some quality couch cuddles, I’m excited to welcome them with open arms! I’m unavailable in the mornings but I am available after 1pm Monday through Friday! I can do some weekends but my availability varies. Reach out with any questions about dates and times and I will get back to you as soon as I can. When caring for your pup, my top priorities are making them feel completely safe and loved. Whether staying in a cozy home environment or exploring the beautiful Chapel Hill greenways and trails, I tailor every day to your dog's specific energy levels and physical needs. I treat every home with the utmost respect and ensure you receive frequent, sweet photo updates of our adventures.

About: I have had a dog almost all of my life. I currently have a 9 year old Black Lab named Mia who I adore. I am a teacher and off for the summer so I am available pretty much any day. I love running and hiking so I am always willing to bring your dog with me! As said above, I am a teacher and I am off for the summer. I am free pretty much the entire day everyday to give your pet care. I enjoy spending time with my pets. Hanging out with them in the home, bringing them out for a walk or run, either on a trail or in the woods, and bringing them on a car ride to go complete daily errands.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Carrboro stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carrboro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Carrboro with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carrboro. On Rover:

  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
