About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover who would so excited to meet your furry family members! I have been pet sitting and dog walking since I was ten years old and caring for animals has always been something I genuinely enjoy. I am also a proud dog and cat mom, so I know firsthand how much our pets mean to us and how important it is to have someone you can trust to care for them while you are away. During my undergraduate years at Tulane University, I volunteered at an animal shelter in New Orleans, where I helped walk and care for shelter dogs. I also had the opportunity to work with service animals through my university, which gave me additional experience understanding the importance of patience, consistency, responsibility, and following each animal’s individual needs and routines. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNC-Chapel Hill. I’m responsible, dependable, patient, and compassionate, and pet sitting is something I genuinely enjoy doing outside of school. Whether your dog needs a good walk and some zoomies, your cat wants some attention (or prefers to pretend I don’t exist!), or your pet simply needs someone to stop by and keep them company, I’m happy to help! 🐾 What I can help with: - Dog walking & exercise -Cat & dog check-ins - Feeding & fresh water -Playtime & cuddles - Cleaning up after pets - Medication assistance when needed 📸 Photos & updates so you know your pet is happy and doing well I’ll always take the time to learn your pet’s routine, personality, and preferences. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while you’re away. I’d love to meet you and your furry friend! I have a flexible schedule and am happy to work with your pet’s needs! I’m available for check-ins and visits anytime on weekends. During the week, I am completely available on Fridays and can usually accommodate morning and evening check-ins Monday–Friday, with the exception of Wednesdays, when my availability is more limited. I’m happy to coordinate a schedule that works best for you and your pet’s routine! 🐶🐱 I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable in their own familiar environment, which is why I provide in home check-ins and care at your pet’s home. I will always respect your space, follow your instructions carefully, and make sure your pet’s routine stays as consistent as possible while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I take the time to learn your pet’s personality, habits, and needs so I can provide thoughtful, attentive care. I’m comfortable following specific feeding schedules, exercise routines, and care instructions to help your pet feel safe and relaxed. As a lifelong pet owner and experienced pet sitter, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member and your home. I’ll provide updates and photos during visits so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and cared for. I do not offer boarding in my own home, but I’m happy to provide reliable, loving care where your pet feels most comfortable—at home.
“Kelly was so great. She helped us out when we were in a bind for an unexpected doctors appointment, and could not have been nicer or better with Zorro. He loved her right away. Hopefully she can stay with him again!”

“Sophia was excellent! From the initial contact and meet & greet, through the end of our trip, Sophia delivered a wonderful level of customer service that is so rare these days! Sophia bonded so well with our dog, Roxy, and took excellent care of her and our home. Absolutely amazing!”

“Our pup is not usually 'open to new relationships' but she quickly warmed up to Claire. The weather posed significant challenges during Claire's stay but she managed everything with aplomb. Great job!”

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. I have experience taking care of many different ages of cats and dogs. I have taken care of horses for several years and even have experience taking care of rabbits. I also fostered dogs from my local shelter which gave me experience with a wide range of behavioral concerns in dogs. When I come to take care of your pet, I would love to learn how to best care for them. Whether that is relaxing on the couch or running outside with them, I can adapt to your pet's individual care needs. I currently work from home which allows me to have a large range of availability. I am available for multi day house sitting or dog walking. I am very flexible to what is needed for your pet. I am also flexible and can accept last minute bookings! Unfortunately, I cannot board because I am not able to board pets at my apartment. But I would love to take care of your critters at your own home. When at your home, I would love to take care of your critters in the best way possible for their needs and wants. We can chill out at home, go to the dog park, walk around the yard, or anything else your dog likes and makes them the most comfortable while you are away!
“Meredith did a fantastic job taking care of our two kitties while we were on vacation. Especially since one of them is older, needs to take medicine he hates, and can be a fussy eater. Meredith patiently figured out just what to do to keep him healthy, and we returned to both of them in good shape!”

I love going to the park too. My home is safe for dogs and I will respect your house and make sure the dog has a good time when you are away.
“Rosa saved our trip with 2 dogs. We were traveling with our 2 pups and she was able to come to our air bnb to watch them while we went into town. They seemed to love her. She walked them, played fetch, chilled out on the couch with our two goofballs. She is timely and communicative. Would use her services again if ever in the area.”

“Alekx has stayed with our puppy twice now and was amazing! Very patient with puppy energy. We also came home to a pup who had been taught a few new skills and Alekx even gave our pup many hand me down toys from her own dog, some of which are our pups new favorites! Our dog hasn’t been alone yet, and Alekx was great about staying with her and even took her out to a park.”

“Emi was lovely to meet, and did a great job taking care of my two dogs. She stayed here during a tropical storm, and handled the situation beautifully. I could see from the photos Emi sent that my babies were happy and well cared for. My dogs and my house looked great when I got home.”

Sophia was excellent! From the initial contact and meet & greet, through the end of our trip, Sophia delivered a wonderful level of customer service that is so rare these days! Sophia bonded so well with our dog, Roxy, and took excellent care of her and our home. Absolutely amazing!

Lauren was great with Scout, Remi, and Nellie! Her communication was stellar, and we loved getting all the photo updates while we were away. Having complete peace of mind about our dogs made our vacation so much better. We highly recommend her and will definitely rebook!

Very pleased with Thomas, I felt anxious about leaving Maggie my 10 month old Golden Retriever for the first time , but Thomas sent frequent up dates and pics, which made me feel secure that Maggie was just fine. I will be requesting his services again. Thank you so much. Angie
Cassie was absolutely great! Our dog liked her right from the meet and greet. She was communicative, professional, and caring towards our boy and made us feel very comfortable leaving him to her care. House was clean and organized just as we had left it when we got back. We definitely plan to reach back out to Cassie in the future!
Abi took amazing care of our dogs and cats! She was great with communication, sent photo updates, took the dogs on walks, and handled all of our pets’ quirks with so much care. We completely trust Abi with our fur babies, our home, and would absolutely book her again!

Emi did a great job staying with our fur babies (our cane corso and two cats) for the weekend. She gave updates and photos throughout the two days and kept me updated on anything going on with the pets. She was communicative and so caring for our babies! Safe to say they loved her! Thank you so much Emi!

Korra and I are very lucky to have Tram house sit! Korra had a wonderful time with Tram. I am anxious when it comes to boarding my dog and normally only have trusted family members or friends dog sit but I was very much at ease with Tram’s ability to connect with my dog so quickly. 11/10 would book again 👍🏼

Ellie took the best care of my pups! We have a very anxious poodle & she made him comfortable enough to warm up to her fast! She was mindful of their routines and kept us updated to where we didn’t feel like we had to worry much being gone from them! Your babies will love her!

Rosa was absolutely wonderful with ¡Benito! From the very beginning, I felt completely comfortable leaving him in her care. She was warm, attentive, dependable, and clearly genuinely loves dogs. Benito was happy, relaxed, and very well cared for—which is everything you hope for when trusting someone with a member of your family. What stood out most was the peace of mind Rosa gave me. I never felt like Benito was simply being “watched”; I felt like he was being cared for and loved. That makes all the difference. I would trust Rosa with Benito again without hesitation and absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone responsible, kind, and genuinely invested in their dog’s well-being. Five stars isn’t enough. Thank you, Rosa, for taking such wonderful care of my boy! 🐾❤️
Aiden did an exceptional job watching our dog and house sitting while we were away for a week. Our dog was clearly well-loved while we were gone, with plenty of outside time and playing. Aiden kept us posted with updates and pictures, and asked insightful questions that showed how on top of things he was. He was very respectful of the house and left it in great condition. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for pet care!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chapel Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chapel Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chapel Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chapel Hill. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
