“Salem took great care of our girls! We got regular updates and photos. Noodle and Potato were in great hands and we will definitely be asking her to look after them again.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Allison! She stayed at our house to watch both our cat and dog. She is incredibly professional, sweet, and was clearly very comfortable around both animals. Our cat requires a daily pill, and she handled the administration perfectly. She sent us frequent updates and photos while we were away which gave us total peace of mind. We will definitely be booking her again!”

“Great experience with Ryana. It was a last minute appt so we couldn’t do a meet and greet ahead of time but she came 30 min early to learn about Zuko and his routine. She was very communicative the whole time and kept us updated also with pics. Would highly recommend.”

“Kelsey did an INCREDIBLE job looking after my sweet Essie Mae. Her communication was excellent with lots of texts, pics and updates. It was very obvious, especially from ome of the pics, that Essie truly connected with Kelsey and loved having her as her care taker. We'll definitely use Kelsey again!”

About: I’ve been dog sitting since I was 17 and have cared for 20+ dogs for family and family friends. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, administering oral medications, overnight stays, long-term house sitting, and taking dogs to appointments when needed. I also spend a lot of time at home during house sits because I know most dogs are happiest when they have company. I treat every dog like they’re my own and always do my best to keep them happy, comfortable, and sticking to their normal routine while you’re away. Pet care fits easily into my routine! I work mornings and usually get off around 1 PM, so I’m available most afternoons and evenings for walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your pets. I also offer overnight stays and make it a priority to spend plenty of time at home, so your pets get lots of attention and companionship while you’re away. I know every pet has their own routine, and I do my best to stick to it so they feel comfortable while you’re away. I’ll follow your care instructions closely, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, or bedtime routines.
“Paris was very responsive to my questions, comments, and requests. I appreciated the care she gave my dogs. They are pretty independent but having someone there to keep them company and watch the house while I am gone gives me peace of mind while I am traveling.”

About: I know pets are family, and when you’re away, you want someone who will care for them with the same love and attention you would. I’ve had dogs my entire life, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my daily routine. Over the years, I’ve also pet sat for neighbors and know how important it is to keep pets happy, comfortable, and on their normal routine while giving owners peace of mind. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll treat your pet like they’re my own and keep you updated along the way so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. I work a hybrid schedule, which gives me the flexibility to spend plenty of quality time with the pets in my care throughout the day. Before and after work, I make time for walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention, and on my work-from-home days I’m able to provide even more companionship and regular potty breaks. I prioritize keeping pets on their normal routines so they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and routine are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, schedule, and any special needs so they feel comfortable and secure. In my home, pets are treated like family with plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and a calm, clean environment. In your home, I respect both your space and your pet’s routine by following feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any specific instructions exactly as requested. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, because I know how reassuring it is to know your best friend is safe and happy!
About: I’ve had animals ever since I can remember: Dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and even a pony! I have experience in administering medicine, caring for animals with anxiety, and even snapping the perfect picture of your fur baby while you’re away. I work early mornings and am available until mid evening! Shoot me a message and let’s work something out! I work early mornings, so anything after 3 works for me! I prefer to keep Sundays to myself and my cat. Otherwise I’m pretty flexible! I care for the pets in my home by fostering a loving and stimulating environment. My cat Tarot has plenty of cuddles and things to play with. I’ll be sure to do the same with your pet!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Blands
Abby did a great job watching my elderly dog for almost 2 weeks. She administered daily meds perfectly, and with great care. She also spent lots of time with Mathilda, and made her so comfortable while I was away, sticking to her usual schedule and habits. Abby checked in when needed, but was quietly confident in her ability to take care of my girl. I would highly recommend Abby for daily visits, or overnight stays. She’s great to work with, kind, conscientious and fun!

Allison is a total gem. My pit mix warmed up to her immediately (wanted to sleep beside her and lick her, both of which usually take a few days with new people) at the start of her 10 day stay. Allison sent super detailed updates each day with multiple photos. She was thoughtful about storms, fireworks, and the heat. I didn't worry about my dog at all while I was gone and highly recommend working with Allison - my pup hopes to host her again soon!

Aline was outstanding with my elderly baby. He's practically blind and she did everything to make him feel safe and comfortable. She stayed in my home with him. He connected with her from the very beginning. She perfectly gave him his medicines (pills and liquids), she made sure he wore a diaper at night and when she was away. And she gave him all the snuggles he wanted. She looked after my Max perfectly and I will definitely book her again!

We loved having Katelyn stay with our pup, Rory, while we were away! She was very reliable, communicative, and friendly! Rory absolutely loved her. She kept us informed throughout her stay with great updates and pictures. She also left our home cleaner than she found it! We would love to have her watch Rory again!

Truman was able to accommodate last minute changes on my end and watch both my pups. One of our dogs was post surgery and needed special attention and Truman was great handling all of his care. He did a great job and the pups were sad for him to leave!! Truman is our go to for daytime walks and overnight trips.

10 Stars Super Duper Star Sitter indeed! We booked Miranda at the last minute when our scheduled pup sitter had a medical emergency before a week-long trip out of town. Our 3 dogs loved her; she provided multiple updates a day with pictures, and our house was immaculate when we returned. Would love to have her watch our pups and our house again in the future
Julia was amazing with my highly anxious dogs! She really knows how to interact with dogs to put them at ease. She took care of my two dogs and three cats, all of whom need medications. My animals clearly enjoyed their time with her and I would happily hire her again.

Karyn and my dog, Moses did really well together. Karyn is such a relaxed pet sitter and Moses did not appear to have any problems relating to Karyn. When we had a "meet and greet" before Karyn actually came to care for Moses, she brought her dog, Sadie. I was so glad, because the day after my husband passed, we had to have our 14 yr. old retriever put down. I could tell Moses has missed our 2 "loves". Anyway, Sadie and Moses got along and I think it was an added treat for Moses.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Blands walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Blands maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Blands choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
