“Meghan has done an amazing job taking care of our puppy while we are at work. I will definitely be a repeat client and reccomend Meghan to take care of others fur babies as well!”

“Cara takes such great care of my Max. As a blind, senior dog, he has special needs. Cara is very caring and understanding of his needs. When she arrives, he is excited to see her and go in his walk.”

“Michelle is excellent - the most patient and reliable sitter. One of our pups is a bit particular about people coming into the house, but Michelle has done great to ensure that he feels comfortable and can trust her. We are so grateful!”

About: I'm not a professional with fancy certifications, but I am a dog person. I owned and raised my pit mix from puppyhood for 13 years—so I know what it takes to care for a dog properly, keep them happy, and build real trust. The biggest advantage? I work from home. That means while I'm watching your dog, they're never alone for long stretches. They get consistent attention, regular breaks outside, and someone who actually cares about their wellbeing—not just a checkbox on a care log. Your dog won't just be watched; they'll be treated like they matter to me, because they will. I work from home, which is the real game-changer here. Pet sitting isn't a side hustle for me—it's something I can genuinely fit into my day without it feeling rushed or like a checklist. When I'm watching your dog, I can check in throughout the day, take them out for bathroom breaks, keep them company during work calls (the calm kind), and make sure they're getting the attention they need. No long gaps where they're waiting alone wondering when someone's coming back. It's flexible too. I can work around your schedule—early morning, afternoons, weekends—because I'm home anyway. Your dog gets consistency and care without me having to squeeze them into an already-packed day. In my home: Your dog gets a safe, comfortable space where they're never alone for long. I work from home, so I'm there throughout the day—letting them out for bathroom breaks, keeping them company, and making sure they have water and a calm environment. They'll be treated like they're part of my routine, not an inconvenience. In your home: I respect your space and your dog's routine. I follow your instructions on feeding, walking, medication, or anything else specific to your dog's needs. I'll send updates so you know exactly what's happening, and I treat your home with the same care I'd want for mine. Either way: Safety and trust are everything to me. I know what it's like to care deeply about a dog—I had mine for 13 years. Your dog won't just be fed and let outside; they'll get genuine attention and someone who actually notices if something's off.
About: Since I was little, I've been caring for animals ranging from dogs and cats to fish and guinea pigs. I find so much joy in doing so that I studied both animal and wildlife sciences so I can make animal care my life. Whether in a clinical or personal setting, my clients are always pleased with the services that I provide their animals with. I'm currently a college graduate living back home as I take time before pursuing a Master's program. Because I work full-time as a veterinary assistant, my calendar is only accurate between 2-4 weeks out. However, I promise to do my best to be available to care for your pet! While I limit my pet care to my clients' homes, I do still take measures to ensure the animals' safety and wellbeing. The house doors will remain locked, I'm open to crating an animal if I'm not present, and they will be leashed at all times on walks as it is the law. Additionally I'm acquainted with plenty of veterinarians should your pet require any emergency medical attention.
About: I’ve always had a passion for animals of all kinds since I was young. I cared for all manner of pets growing up, and even worked on a farm with cattle and herding dogs. I eventually grew up to attend NC state and graduated with a zoology degree. And while I do work with large exotic animals, I have over 4 years of experience working with dogs as a lead kennel attendant at camp BowWow. That experience includes feeding, medicating, behavioral assessment and response, first aid, enrichment, and basic training for dogs of all breeds and ages. I work with animals full time right now, so Tuesday-Saturday I typically am busy until about 5pm. I am open to helping out with your furry friend in the evenings though! Sunday and Monday are typically my days off, and I’d be happy to help most anytime during either of those days as long as I have a bit of notice. I have been a pet-sitter on several occasions in the past, and every single time I get the opportunity I do my best to leave the clients house and pet looking and feeling better than when I arrived. If there is a routine established, I’m happy to follow it, and if not I’m happy to go with the flow. I of course can transport myself, and am happy to stay and play or do quick check-ins. I’ve worked with all types of dogs with varying temperaments and energy levels, so I have no problem matching whatever level is needed.
About: I've grown up with dogs my whole life and have years of experience dog-sitting for neighbors and friends, caring for a wide range of breeds, ages, and personalities. I work Monday through Thursday until 4:30 PM and am available for evening visits on those days. I'm fully available all day Friday through Sunday for walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays. I live in an townhome without a fenced yard, but I have easy access to a dog park right in town for safe, fun outdoor playtime.
About: Caring for animals has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up pet sitting for families in my neighborhood, and that early experience turned into a lifelong passion. Today, I foster dogs and puppies through a local rescue, giving me extensive experience with all ages, temperaments, and training levels. I also have a dog of my own, so I know how important it is to find someone you trust completely. Whether your pup needs structured routines, extra patience, or just tons of love and playtime, I’m here to make them feel safe, happy, and at home. I am currently a full time graduate student with a flexible schedule. I am out of the house for a few hours every morning, but home most afternoons and evenings. Pet care fits perfectly into my schedule, and walking or playing with a dog is my ideal way to decompress. My house has easy access to the outdoors and is located in a neighborhood with extensive walking paths, making walks and potty breaks easy and convenient. My own dog, Birdie, loves having friends around and will be here to keep your pet company.
“Kelsey was awesome! We have an old man and crazy pup and she gave them both the attention they need. We will definitely be using her again, we were are ease while away because of her communication!”

“Dana is a super good sitter!!! Both of my cats love her since the beginning (her magic). She took care of my cats carefully and play with them very patiently. She stays longer than 30 minuets to play with them. She share a lot of cute photos of my cats and wrote lovely stories. I will definitely rebook with Dana next time when I have to go outside!”

About: Hi! I go by as "MK." I've been taking care of cats and dogs for my family and friends for years. I love spend time with pets by playing, walking, etc. I am happy to visit your home twice a day (morning and evening) to check on your pets while you are out of town. My work allows me to have flexible schedule so please don't feel hesitant to reach out! I'm available for morning (7-9 am), evening (6-9 pm), and weekend visits, and I strive to maintain your pet's normal routine as closely as possible. Whether it's feeding, playtime, walks, or simply providing companionship, I'll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. During each visit, I'll make sure your pet has fresh food and water, clean up the litter box if needed, and spend quality time playing, walking, or just keeping them company—whatever they enjoy most. I'll also send you photos and a quick update after every visit so you can see how your pet is doing. If you'd like, I'm happy to bring in mail or water plants while you're away as well. My goal is to treat your pets with the same care and attention I'd want for my own.
“Cynthia has been such a blessing to our lives and that of our pup! She goes above and beyond in every way. She communicates and confirms with us which is very reassuring as our dog has separation anxiety and we try to limit her alone time. And I can tell that she really engages with our puppy while she is there and even reenforces the training we are working on even though we did not ask her to. We are so lucky to have found Cynthia!”

About: I’ve been my neighborhood pet sitter since I was 8 years old, and since coming to college I’ve missed being around so many furry friends! I have two cats, Casper and Toothless, who I love dearly and have taught to do fun tricks like sitting and spinning. I grew up taking care of all kinds of dogs from German shepherds to jack russel terriers to Pomeranians—and other animals like ferrets and fish—so know that your loved ones will be well-cared for! I am a graduate student taking only four classes, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pet! I can do early mornings, mid-afternoons, and evenings—whatever your furry friend needs. I believe that one of the most important parts of caring for your pets is creating and maintaining a trusting relationship with both them and you. For home access protocol, I always securely store keys, ensure all doors and windows are locked before leaving, and arm/disarm any security systems as needed. I have a list of nearby emergency vet information and will work with you to determine a procedure in the case of an emergency. Finally, I will always ensure your pets won’t try escaping by checking gates/doors to ensure they are properly shut before they roam. My two cats love the outdoors so I’m very familiar with making sure they don’t become escape artists!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Blands
Emily was absolutely exceptional! She took phenomenal care of Arya, going above and beyond to make sure she felt comfortable, happy, and well cared for. Her visit updates were wonderfully detailed, and the photos she sent were an absolute highlight of our day. Knowing Arya was in such attentive and loving hands gave us complete peace of mind. We couldn't ask for a better sitter and will definitely be booking Emily again!

Bella was responsive and friendly from the very beginning. She was able to accommodate a last minute new request. Out meet and greet was great and she took excellent care of my very senior baby. She did her drop ins on time, updated me and sent pics. Mathilda loves Bella and looks forward to future visits. I really appreciate knowing my girl was cared for during a very stressful work time for me. Bella is amazing - your pet will love her too!

Amber was wonderful with our dog! She’s friendly, dependable, and clearly very comfortable with animals. We especially appreciated how patient she was with our dog and how flexible she was when our plans changed. She was always on time, responsible, and easy to communicate with. We will definitely have Amber care for our dog again!

Julia is fantastic with our 2 dogs. She makes sure each receives dedicated time and attention during her visits/stay. Julia is also very communicative, follows care instructions to a T, and sends great pics! Would highly recommend booking Julia to help care for your pups.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
