“Emilia was great with chowder! She was on time and very prompt and followed all the instructions I gave her! We will definitely be booking with her again and she was great and very reliable.”

“Allison was a wonderful sitter to my young cat, she was very thoughtful and communicative and took wonderful care of Kiwi. I’m so glad I was able to book with her for a holiday weekend!”

About: I’ve had pets my entire life. I’ve also have watched many dogs within the past few years. I love walking dogs or running as I am very active. I am a current grad student at UNC Chapel Hill. My Friday through Sundays are always free. I work on the weekdays from 9-4, but mornings and evening are always open. I have a lot of experience with dogs. I have been a pet sitter many times in the past. I am good with dogs of all sizes. I am very active and I do well with very active dogs. I also enjoy a less active and chiller dog.

About: I've taken care of dogs, cats and an assortment of reptiles for the past 16 years at home and at the local animal shelter. I can administer medicine orally through a syringe as well as be patient around the more timid dogs/cats. I have experience with dog training, cat training and socialization and reptile feeding and handling in all forms. I am about to go get my masters degree in Wildlife Conservation! I am a teacher on summer break before going into my Masters degree in September. I have a lot of availability during day hours as well as house sitting pets if needed! I have experience pet sitting at people’s homes, dog walking for neighbors and cat sitting. I make it a priority to be respectful of others space! As a teacher and animal lover, I can assure your home and your pets will be taken care of.
“Aspen was great!! We appreciate her following all instructions for all 3 of our dogs, all of our dogs were very happy when we got home. We would definitely have Aspen watch them again!”

“Natalie was GREAT!! Our cats LOVED her, probably more than they like us even! She was able to coax our very curmudgeonly elderly cat out from her hiding place and interact with her on each of the home visits! Natalie took great photos and shared pertinent and expansive notes about her home visits, too, which put us at ease as we vacationed. Would definitely book again! (Oh, and she brought in our delivered packages while we were away, without prompting, which was much appreciated!)”

“Gretchen has done a wonderful job looking after our golden doodle Lucy. She is punctual each visit and ensures Lucy gets plenty of attention through walks or play. She is very responsive and easy to work with. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for assistance with their pet!”

“Betsy is great! Very reliable with good communication. She went above and beyond making sure the house temperature was comfortable when our A/C went out and retrieving our cat when he slipped out. I will definitely hire her again.”

“Samantha was great. Came on time to each visit and stayed with Mabel the whole time. She gave Mabel lots of cuddles and got her energy out. She was flexible and easy to reach.”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care our pets received while we were away! Ria was reliable, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our pets were taken care of!”

“Dafna was great! Kitties well taken care of and seemed very content when we got home. She followed my directions and even brought some packages I had delivered inside. I would definitely book with her again.”

“Alissa was amazing!! She was very attentive and gave lots of updates on our two cats. She sent lots of photos and information about them each day. She even did extra things we didn’t ask. She was overall wonderful and I couldn’t have asked for better! Would 100% hire her again!”

“Bailey is amazing. Stayed in touch the entire week and Socks loved spending time with her playing in the garden. Loved the photos! Definitely going to be our go to dog sitter”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my experience with both senior dogs and puppies. I grew up caring for my neighbors' dogs, trained my own dog as a puppy, and I currently care for a senior dog, so I understand their special needs. I’m also familiar with managing different pet temperaments and have experience caring for my own cat, which has given me a well-rounded ability to handle various pets. I’m confident I can provide the attentive, loving care each animal deserves. I have a few part time jobs that allow me extra time to hang out with your animals. I also have weekend and evening flexibility. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, safety and trust are my top priorities. I ensure the environment is pet-proofed and provide plenty of space for exercise, play, and rest. I follow any specific care instructions, from feeding schedules to medications.
“Kelly was absolutely amazing! She was warm, professional, and clearly passionate about animals. She took such great care of my pet, treating them like her own. Throughout the stay, Kelly kept me updated with messages, photos, and thoughtful check-ins that really put my mind at ease. My pet was happy, relaxed, and clearly loved being with her. When I came home, everything was spotless and my pet was calm and content. You can tell Kelly truly cares—she goes above and beyond. I can’t recommend her enough and will definitely be booking with her again!”

Absolutely above and beyond! We booked last minute as our neighborhood sitter had to travel. Rosa was so attentive and communicative and always kept us updated. She sent amazing photos and gave great report cards. I feel like we got a bargain as she did SO much more than we were expecting and even helped us out in areas we had been ignoring ourselves (like cat vomit under the bed). She is truly a star of this app and we can’t wait to work with her again!

If I could give 10 out of 5 stars I would! Alissa was signed up to watch only our cat. Two days before our trip, our dog was attacked by another dog and she kindly ended up watching our cat and dog, stopping by 4 times a day with very detailed notes about each visit. Several days into the trip, our dog developed stress-induced colitis and required a couple trips to the vet. Ultimately we ended up coming home early from our trip to care for our very sick dog. Alissa was incredible! Even our veterinarian’s office told us how wonderful and knowledgeable about our dog she was when she brought him dog in. Overall it was a stressful situation but Alissa was so incredibly kind, professional and an excellent communicator. It made such a huge difference in what was otherwise a very difficult situation. We cannot speak highly enough of her!

Samantha was very responsible and communicative. She documented her visits with my cat and, according to the pictures she sent me, my ktty looked very happy. Sam also gave my cats her meds and reported on her condition and behavior. This was very comforting since I am currently traveling. I warmly recommend Samantha.

Natalie was GREAT!! (Oh, and she brought in our delivered packages while we were away, without prompting, which was much appreciated!)

She was amazing. I was stressed prior to leaving on our trip since we would be out of the country and we had just had a tree fall on the house. She reassured me every day that my fur baby was doing well by notes and lots of pictures. I have to say that she really is a great cat person and that comes from my kitty who does not do well with strangers. Aspen took the time to love her and to even brush her which made my day as well as my kitty's. Will use again.

This was our second time booking Dana for our pupper Leon, and we were so grateful for her care of him! We are already looking forward to booking her again. Knowing that she is taking care of Leon gives us incredible peace of mind while we are away. Thank you so much Dana!!

Andrew is an above and beyond pet sitter, kind, communicative, pays close attention to instructions. I always feel very safe leaving my bunnies in his care. And over my most recent trip, he even helped with an injured deer on my property. Highly recommend this thoughtful, wonderful human being for your pet care needs!

Cassie is amazing! My partner and I both work in health care with crazy schedules and sometimes need a check in last minute. Cassie is super flexible and always very responsive. She’s been a great help and resource in times of need and our dogs love spending time with her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
