“Sarah has been wonderful. My cat is really shy but on her second visit Sarah coaxed some pets and purring out of my cat. She is a warm caring person as well as prompt, kind and conscientious. I will definitely look to have Sarah watch my cat again.”

“Adreanna was great with my dog Zoey. Zo warmed up to her immediately when she met her, which is not the norm as she is usually a bit shy when meeting new people. Adreanna was awesome at communicating and always responds quickly. She is also really flexible with the check ins. I did not worry about a thing knowing she was checking on Zoey. Highly recommend her if you're needing someone to watch your pet!”

“I could not have asked for a sweeter, kinder companion for my dog. Courtney was thoughtful and caring. She kept this nervous pet parent updated and sent pictures to reassure me all was well. I needed an extra day and she stepped up to do it. I will hire her whenever the need arises and she is available.”

“Ellen was a great sitter for my cat! She was prompt, communicated well, and took great care of my cat. Her calm nature helped my shy cat warm up to her by the end of the week. Definitely recommend her!!”

I am available every day of the week starting June 30th seeing that i am home for the summer from college. I am available during the hours of 8am-8pm and am interested in house sitting. I have a fenced yard for my dog to keep them from getting out and my cat is an inside cat who stay in the upstairs bedrooms
“Larz is the man! He was prompt with my last minute begging and pleading to walk my ol doggo and was totally up for the challenge, even after working all day. In just the 30 minute booking I got 4 pictures and a great summary report. Couldn't be more rest assured and happy to have gotten him as our sitter. Will for sure utilize his services in the future if he is willing!”

“Brianna was so nice and a FANTASTIC pet sitter. Always sent adorable photos of my pets and made sure they were happy and healthy. “Canaan provided great care while I was away. This was the first time I’ve used a pet sitter in my home while being away and she made sure I was kept up to date with how my elderly dog was doing with both pictures and notes plus additional messages. It was clear she had my pets health and happiness at the forefront of her care and I could not have asked for a better sitter. Would 100% recommend and hope to be able to request her services in the future :)”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
