“Sarah took great care of our boy Phil and gave him his meds! She took great photos and even included our cat post in the living even though he wasn’t on the booking. 10/10 will book again”

“Adreanna is a great sitter and my kitties love her! She’s very reliable, communicative and does such a great job. I appreciate her care so much while I’m away. Definitely recommend her :)”

“Erica was amazing with our kitties! We had an issue with our virtual access key, but Erica handled it perfectly and was so reliable. Our kitties immediately loved her, and she even brought a laser pointer toy to play with them. We will definitely be repeat clients!”

“Bella is extremely sweet. I was concerned my giant breed mix rescue (10 months old with a mouthing problem) might be too much of a handful to ask of any sitter, but she stepped in enthusiastically and I have nothing but positives to say. I got multiple photos each visit (Monday-Friday), a fairly detailed rundown (including my dog’s energy levels, training progress, etc.), and Tulip has been in a great mood every evening when I come home from work. This was my first time having a caretaker for a pet, so I was very nervous (especially about my house being a mess) but I gained so much relief from the help and would absolutely recommend Bella to anyone looking for help.”

“Nathan was communicative and clearly cared for our cats’ wellbeing! Would book again, it was a relief to know that Alley and Penny were safe while we were away.”

About: I am a professional pet sitter and dog walker who loves spending time with furry friends of all sizes. I've been doing this amazing work for the past 7 years. I am a fully remote worker with a highly flexible schedule and free weekends. Perfect for recreation, and perfect for my love of all furry creatures great and small. For drop-in visits, I care for pets in their own home to minimize stress and maintain familiar routines. I follow all provided instructions closely, ensure doors and gates are secured, and keep visits calm and focused. I am attentive to safety, cleanliness, and respectful use of your space. I will provide detailed updates with photos!
“Meg did such a great job with my babies. I loved the daily updates and pictures. Normally when I am fine I get snubbed when I get home because they are mad that I left them but this time they just gave me love so I know they were happy while I was away.”

“Isabel continues to exceed my expectations with how responsible, caring, and communicative she is. Her genuine enjoyment of my cats and the time she spends playing with them is fantastic for their mental and emotional well-being, which is obvious when I return and they are in such good spirits. She is extremely respectful of my space, responsible, and a fantastic communicator. An easy 5/5 for me.”

“Ashley was very professional prior to her visits with Percy. She asked questions that showed she cared about the comfort of my pet. During her visits she made sure to send me photos and Percy seemed to love having her stay with him for awhile. I have enjoyed knowing that he was well loved and taken care for while I was away.”

“We’ve booked her twice and she’s great. My cats ran up to her when she came to pick up the key for the second time we booked her if that’s says how much they like her too!! 😊”

“Jiahui did a great job watching our cat and she gets bonus points for taking care of our hamster as well. There wasn’t a way to let her know beforehand that the pet sitting would include a hamster. I would hire her again!!”

“Lauren took such great care of my two cats while I was away! She took the time to clean their litter boxes, feed them and even got playtime in during her visits. Would highly recommend!”

“Ella was amazing! She followed all of my instructions and messaged me back immediately, not only that but I had a few extra requests while she was with my cats and she took care of everything I needed. Truly above and beyond, would definitely book with her again. :)”

“Katelyn was prompt, professional and thorough while watching our senior kitty. She was quick to respond to messages with us, and was flexible and understanding when our first drop-in needed to be pushed back from its scheduled time. Katelyn left detailed notes of her drop-in visits and took over a dozen photos each time, so we knew our girl was well cared for and in good spirits! We’re excited to book her again for another sit soon :)”

“Abigail was great! She made sure our cat was fed with fresh food and water and even gave his litter box a clean. While our cat tends to hide for awhile when people come over, I know he was well taken care of and enjoyed the house visits while we were away. She was super flexible with times. Definitely recommend and would book again. Thanks so much!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my whole life. I have experience with caring for puppies, and more elder dogs. During Covid, my roommate and I started fostering dogs. We fostered an old sweet yellow lab, 2 puppies with worms and that were to be neutered, and a rambunctious pit bull that suffered from separation anxiety. For the last 4 years, I’ve been formally dog walking and pet sitting. I travel for a lot for work so I’m not able to have a pet of my own, but I’m more than happy to walk and care for yours! My schedule is quite all over the place, so feel free to reach out and I’ll try to accommodate! I’m a nurse and I work three days a week, so the rest of the week I’m fairly available! I won’t be able to offer overnight boarding or sitting at my residence, but Im more than happy to commute to yours! I can walk your dogs, play with them, try to reinforce good habits, just let me know what you’re looking for!
“Nicole is excellent with our dog, Craig, and cat, Betty. They love her! She has done in-house sitting jobs for us previously, and we have just had her pop in to look after Betty this past weekend. Couldn’t be happier with her service, and have no hesitations in recommending her.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Raleigh
Sarah is very communicative and responsive, and made best friends with my kitties! I just moved to the area and was worried that I couldn’t find a good cat sitter. So glad that I found Sarah! Will definitely use her service for my future travels and highly recommend her for fellow pet parents ☺️

Peyton is amazing with our cat Oreo. She is a very anxious cat so seeing pictures and videos of her being comfortable always makes my day. This time around my flight on my way back was cancelled and Peyton on such short notice was willing to help even though I didn’t have him booked to see her. That sums up how empathetic he is!

We booked Rebekah for the second time for one of our vacations and she is great! She is a great communicator, very entertaining for the cats and also gave them such care and attention when she looked after them :) she is attentive to sharing updates and photos that give you peace of mind and we highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
