“Noa took wonderful care of our cats, Linux and Array, over a long holiday trip. She was reliable, communicative, and very attentive. She sent regular updates, photos, and videos, and clearly took the time to make sure the cats were comfortable and well cared for. She also went above and beyond by alerting us to and handling an unexpected issue with a frozen hose, which we really appreciated. Our home was left in great condition, and it was clear the cats were happy and safe while we were away. This was Noa’s first time using Rover, and she did an amazing job. We would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to other pet parents!”

“Great sitter! She worked with my dog who is super scared about everything. She is active and will take your dog on walks. She is good with alarms/other security tech. Would recommend!”

“She was so sweet, and Teddy absolutely loved her! She was always on time and went above and beyond what was expected. I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such good hands while we were away. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“We’ve been using Larry on a weekly basis for a while now for drop ins on long work days and he is a stellar pet sitter and does a fantastic job with my overly feisty pup and two cats. Super easy to communicate with and really flexible with our chaotic schedule.”

“Riley did an amazing job! She was super communicative and patient, especially when we had some initial technical issues with getting into my apartment. She captured some great pictures and Emma warmed up quickly and loved playtime with her!”

“Louis was a lifesaver. I requested 3 last minute drop in visits. He came to my house to meet me and my dogs on the same day as the request, right before I left town. He was very attentive, asked me important questions that I hadn't even thought of, and made me feel completely at ease. He showed up for his visits right on time, like literally right on the hour, every time, stayed the entire 30 minutes, and followed all of my instructions. I could not have asked for a better sitter. I would not hesitate to book him again in the future.”

About: My house can be a bit of a zoo, with 3 dogs, 2 rabbits, 2 birds, and a tortoise, but it is much more peaceful than it sounds. All caged animals (rabbits, birds, and tortoise) are in their own room that dogs are not allowed in, so no need to worry about any unsavory interactions. That leave the rest of our home the dog zone. We have a large house so no one will feel cramped and a huge backyard for all the fun your pets seeks. I am comfortable with any breed (and any species of animal really) and will follow any instructions left for me to the letter. I am very attentive and will provide updates multiple times a day so you’ll never be left wondering how your baby is doing. I am currently working full time, however I work second shift, so I work 2-10pm. Occasionally I am able to leave work around 8 or 9 o clock as well. I could care for pets first thing in the morning, before I head to work, and after my shift. I you were comfortable with it as well, my husband could always check on your pet after he gets off work (around 5) My husband and I have a huge fully fenced backyard. Our neighborhood is pretty quiet and very walkable as well if you prefer your pet be taken for walks.
About: I’ve had pets my whole life from childhood to adulthood. I was the child that found strays and brought them home! I have had dogs, cats, lizards and Guinea pigs. My pets are treated like family and I’ve always been on top of their health care and grooming. I currently have three cats, ages: 16,15,&two 4 year olds. I have an eight year old German Shepherd as well. At one time we had four dogs, and for cats! I was blessed to live in a large home with large fenced yard. I also have two grand cats, two grand dogs and one grand Guinea pig. My love of pets has past down to all my children. I also have access to military installations. I’m a retired teacher so Pet sitting is what I do! I travel and pet sit for areas that I’m interested in visiting so I’m often traveling to both cities and rural areas. I have my own transportation. I enjoy taking pictures of your loved ones for daily updates. I also have access to military installations. I will only provide care in the pets home. I’m a traveler right now so I can only sit in the clients home and Iam comfortable with that.
“Iyana watched my two cats while I was away and she went above and beyond! Iyana was kind enough to send videos and pics and you could tell how much my cats loved her. She took a lot of time to play with them and she was thorough and very communicative. I cannot wait to rebook Iyana again and I highly recommend her!”

“Joei did great with Diesel! I would highly recommend her for check-ins and other sitter options as she went above and beyond my expectations. Diesel is extremely hyper but Joei was not intimidated and took him out on multiple walks which calms him down and wears him out. 😁 Thank you Joei for being patient and compassionate with my rambunctious pup.👍🏼😊”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Shotwell
We had a great experience with Luke! He communicated well, kept us updated, and was very thorough in making sure our dogs were well cared for. We really appreciated Luke’s attention to detail He followed our wishes and instructions, which we really appreciated. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

Charity was absolutely amazing! She is very responsive and helped us last minute in a pinch. The dogs loved her from her meet and greet. She was understanding of our concerns as protective pet parents and was very reassuring that the dogs would be very well cared for, and they were! We received videos and pictures every visit and by the time we came home from work, the dogs were wiped out from all the running and fetch. Seeing how happy they were in the videos made me so comfortable having Charity care for them. She even made sure to give our cat some attention! We will definitely be trusting Charity again when we need more care for our pets.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
