About: I have years of experience taking care of other peoples’ dogs as well as my own, who is almost ten! I have a big fenced in yard with lots of shade that would be great for your pup! I work early mornings into the early afternoons (usually around 1-2). So after my work day, I’m home mostly relaxing or working in the yard and engage in lots of hobbies around the house. I will be around to tend to any needs your dog may have :) I live with my partner and our dog, Mulder, who is 9 years old. We have a fenced in yard with lots of shade that our dog loves and would love to share with your dog , too! We can also host indoors so the pups can cool off and relax.

Hannah was prompt when picking up the boys. Excellent communication. The boys were tired when they got home. Looked as if they all enjoyed themselves. Thank you Hannah! Look forward to using your services again.

About: Hi there! My name is Kayla, and I’ve been a loving pet parent for over five years to my sweet Yorkipoo, Belle. She’s a 13-pound bundle of joy; she’s very shy, but also very sweet! Caring for Belle has given me firsthand experience with everything from daily walks and enrichment activities to specialized feeding schedules, administering medicine, and providing a calm, safe environment. For your peace of mind, I’m located just 2 minutes from both Banfield Pet Hospital and Knightdale Animal Hospital, so prompt care is always within reach if ever needed. I treat every pet like family and can’t wait to care for yours! Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine! I work 100% from home Monday through Friday, which allows me to provide around-the-clock attention and care for pups throughout the day. Whether it’s potty breaks, playtime, walks, or just some extra snuggles, I’m always nearby and available to keep your pet happy and comfortable. I’m also available for boarding and doggy day care needs on weekdays and weekends, so whether you’re heading out for the day or taking a longer trip, your pet will be in loving hands. I live in a quiet, pet-friendly apartment community with clean walking paths, plenty of green space, and a secure off-leash dog park perfect for playtime. Inside, my home is a calm, cozy, and safe space where pets can relax and feel at ease. I take extra care to create a peaceful environment that’s free from hazards and full of love. Whether your pet needs exercise, snuggles, or structured routines, I’m ready to provide the same level of love and attention I give Belle every day.

About: I work fully from home, which allows me to offer a highly attentive and flexible level of care throughout the day. Dogs in my care receive consistent supervision, regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship rather than being left alone for long periods. I also have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time, and my neighborhood has sidewalks that are ideal for daily walks. I currently have two dogs of my own: Neo, a Lab mix, and Luna, a Golden Retriever. Caring for them daily gives me strong hands-on experience with different temperaments, routines, and energy levels, and I’m very comfortable adjusting care based on each dog’s personality and needs. I also foster dogs, including dogs with medical needs and behavioral challenges. This has given me experience administering medication, managing behaviors, recognizing stress signals, and reinforcing basic training techniques when needed. I am comfortable caring for dogs that require extra patience, structure, or individualized attention. Because I truly love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment where they can feel comfortable and secure. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone, and I treat every dog in my care with the same attention and responsibility I give my own. I intentionally provide quality, attentive care and only take bookings I can fully commit to, so each dog receives the attention they deserve. I work from home full time, so pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. Because I’m home throughout the day, I’m able to provide plenty of attention, supervision, companionship, and as many potty breaks as needed. I can easily incorporate walks, playtime, feeding schedules, medication if needed, and rest time into the day while making sure each dog feels comfortable and cared for. Safety is very important to me. I have a fully fenced yard with a 6-foot fence, which provides a secure space for dogs to spend time outside safely. Because I work from home full time, dogs in my care receive full attention, close supervision, and are never left alone for long periods. I make sure each dog feels comfortable, secure, and cared for while following their routine and any specific instructions provided by their owner.

About: My name is Chelsea, and I'd love to care for your furry family members! I'm an active, trustworthy sitter who has always loved animals! I grew up with pets (dogs & cats) and have experience volunteering with the Humane Society; where I have adopted and fostered multiple dogs. I enjoy helping others and love being around animals. I enjoy going for long walks/hikes and enjoy all breeds. I have a 5-year old lab mix, who is very sweet and LOVES playing with others. I work remotely fulltime, so am available all-day for walks, snuggles, and playtime. You can expect that your pet will be actively cared for and loved like they are my own. :) I have an apartment with one other dog, Pudge, who loves playing with other animals. My apartment is in close proximity to multiple parks, trails, and beaches. I'm happy to administer any medications as needed and can offer training!

About: Hello friends, welcome to my furry fun house. I have always been wanting to offer a service that's both fulfilling and fun, I was a foster mom and dog rescuer for Wake County Animal Center. I am also an advocate for animal rights, particularly in dog chain law and breed specific legislation. My kids were raised among so many animals over the years. They are undoubtfully animal lovers. I have one huge bonus room that is dedicated to dogs where I do daily obedient training and playtime. They might not allowed to nap on the furniture all the time only because I might not have enough space for myself and everyone in the house. Lol! My service are very depending whatever your needs are. I do require a meet and greet session, which is no cost to you. I can also offer free consultation to suit your needs. I promise you that I will take care of your pets as if they are my own.

Hannah & Patrick were great with our pups. We did a meet & greet the week before so our dogs could meet on a nice walk. They have a nice sized yard for the dogs to play outside & took them on lots of walks! They only spent the day with them but they got lots of love, exercise & I got a lot of pics! Can’t wait for Lily& Ellie to visit again

About: I have over 900 5 Star reviews on the Wag! app for dog walking, boarding and overnight sitting. Joined a local company that I currently work for and have several private clients that prefer to work with me directly. I have pet care insurance independently from the platforms I've used. I leave every home I visit better than I found it. Checking mail, taking out trash, all manner of special touches. I am handy and have changed light bulbs and air conditioning filters at overnights where i felt the client needed help with those things. Dogs naturally love me. I've had clients joke about their dog liking me more than them. I go above and beyond to make sure your pet is safe and happy while in my care. I can leash train or correct "bad" behavior with positivity and patience. I am working on CPR certification and constantly expand my knowledge of breeds and training techniques. I care for pets full-time. Ready to do walks, dropins and overnight sittings. I am pretty full as far as midday walks go, but can adjust in certain cases I currently don't do day care at my home. I do have my own dog that often accompanies me for my visits and pet sitting.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Shotwell on Rover is $33.3 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,213 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Shotwell. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Shotwell commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,213 sitters in Shotwell, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
