“Five stars! Bridgette visited my kitty while I was gone for two weeks, and she was excellent! She sent photos and updates every day and was super communicative and reliable. She'll definitely be my go-to cat sitter from now on. She's great with kitties and with people.”

“Mary was wonderful with our dog Bailey who can be a bit stubborn at times. Mary gave great updates and was so kind to our family and Bailey. We would definitely want to have Mary pet sit again.”

“Suzie took great care of our kitties while we were away for a week. We are repeat customers and love that she has gotten to know our pets over the months. She sends lots of fun pictures and pays attention to details while taking care of the kitties and dog. Highly recommend!”

“Jacqueline and Michael were so great with our cats while we were gone on a trip. The few times I had some small requests that involved going above and beyond the standard level of care, they were always more than happy to do them. I couldn’t recommend these two more.”

About: I’m Dom, a new, but reliable pet sitter! I’ve casually looked after pets before, but I am now looking to gain more experience. I am more knowledgeable about cats, and prefer to sit them, but I love dogs too! I am passionate about everything I do, and am always willing to go above and beyond. I look forward to hearing from you. I have two dogs of my own who are around 3 years olds, and I’ve done drop ins and dog walks before. I currently work casually and take online classes at college, meaning that I have plenty of time to play and hangout with your fur babies! I like to receive specific instructions, and I base of my care off that and breed knowledge. I am very good at following instructions and asking clarifying questions if there is any doubt.
“Amanda is fantastic with our cats and very meticulous about communicating with us. She played with them and gave us regular reports as well! I would highly recommend her.”

“Laura was the best! She kept us updated with plenty of photos and spent quality time with our pets while we were out. This is our second time using her and will be definitely using her in the future!”

“Kymberlee was absolutely amazing! She was so so nice and listened to everything I had said about my cat. Her positive energy immediately made me feel comfortable and I knew she would be perfect for the job! I will definitely be rebooking her in the future.”

“Abby was so attentive to my pups! She gave them so much love and made sure they got lots of activity during her visits. She was very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend her.”

About: I have taken care of animals since I was 13. I’ve always loved our sweet fur babies that my parents would bring home. Animals truly are family and I’d love to ensure that you can rest easy with your animals in my care. The pets I’ve taken care of have ranged from as small as bunnies and lizards all the way up to huskies! The weekend is a perfect time for me to take care of animals. My free time could be helping someone’s schedule who may not be able to handle their fur child at the moment. I take care of pets in other people’s homes by making sure to thoroughly follow any instructions that may have been left for me as well as keeping communication with the owner so they can stay updated with everything that is going on. Communication is very important and I would want to make certain that the owner will feel at ease with their pet in my care.
“Always very professional and kind! Our girl is very picky and she seems to have warmed up to them with this being only the second time they’ve watched her. Will definitely ask them to watch her again!”

“Paul was very communicative and most importantly my dogs loved him! I had him check in on my 2 dogs for a week and he was very dependable and trustworthy and reached out if he had any questions/concerns. I felt like my dogs were in great hands!! Highly recommend him to other pet parents.”

About: I LOVE animals, in fact, I have 5 of my own ( 4 dogs (Casey, Mako, Leo, and Grace) and 1 cat (Cauge)). I trained Mako to be a PTSD service dog. I have had animals my ENTIRE life and am an active wife and mama. I love all animals but large dogs have a special place in my heart. So if you have a Big Baby, please give me a call!! Of course of you have a little baby I would be overjoyed to love on them as well!! I can’t wait to help you care for your babies while you are out at work so they stay healthy and engaged. Drop ins...I can feed, de-water (aka potty breaks) and play, if you are working on training I would love to work along with you on those skills as well. Please note that drop ins can be any type of animal not just cats or dogs (i.e. hamsters, bunnies, gerbils, lizards, ferrets, etc) Walks...Outside engagement, I like to teach good leash manners (no pulling, walking with me) and safety (sitting prior to crossing the street). Of course if we are feeling up for it and its not too HOT, a nice jog may just be on the horizon 😀 Dog Boarding… not offering in my home at this time, but happy to do drop ins while you are away. It there are other needs, please feel free to let me know and we can work something out! I have taken some time away from work and taking some focused time to care for my mother. Once I drop my son off at school in the morning and some scheduled Dr Appts for my mother, I have time to share with others and what better way than caring for their BABIES while they are away at work. Every family's needs are different. I fully respect my client's privacy while I am there to care for YOUR baby(ies). One thing that I am very conscience about is the WARMER weather coming. I always seek out shady areas for walks and if that is not available, I make sure we walk in the grass. Dog paws are very easily burned, and I make sure to care for them.
The median cost per visit for cat sitting in Shotwell is $20
Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Shotwell
Kristine took wonderful care of our cat, Mack, while we were away on vacation. She showered our boy with lots of love and attention, which gave us great peace of mind while we were gone. Her communication was excellent, and she kept us updated throughout our trip, making it easy to relax knowing Mack was in good hands. Based on our experience, we would absolutely book with Kristine again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and communicative pet sitter!

I absolutely recommend Megan! She has watched our cat a couple times for us and has done a great job. My cat doesn’t like new people and needs her space, and Megan has been very understanding of that while still making sure she’s taken great care of.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Shotwell. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
