“I can’t recommend her highly enough. Her communication was excellent from start to finish—clear, timely, and reassuring, which made being away so much easier. She was incredibly thoughtful and proactive, checking in regularly and making sure every detail was covered without ever needing to be asked. What stood out most was the care she gave my senior cats. She handled them with such patience, gentleness, and quiet attentiveness. Everything was done seamlessly and almost behind the scenes—exactly the kind of calm, low-stress care older pets need. I came home to happy, relaxed cats and a clear sense that they had been truly looked after. I would absolutely trust her again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone!”

“Lura is such an amazing sitter! Both our cat and dog love her so much and get super excited to see her whenever she visits. She takes such great care of them both and really loves on them like her own. We are incredibly grateful to have found her!”
“Great sitter for my two dogs. Great reports and pictures of my dogs daily. She went over and above what was required, vacuuming the house of the dog hair for me, my shepherd sheds bad this time of the year. ! Highly recommend her and would use her again if the need arises.”
“I absolutely love Jessica! She has made my pup feel completely comfortable with her, and he’s even excited to see her!! All of her pictures and updates make me physically feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Thank you Jessica!!!!🤎”

“Julia was fantastic with our 3 dogs for an hour drop in. She was on time, sent detailed notes about the visit and was super flexible with our schedule and needs. Will be utilizing her services many more times in the future!”

“Kaelyn was AMAZING!! She was flexible to our schedule, was so loving and kind to our two cats, and gave us amazing updates on how they were doing. She made us feel so comfortable knowing our girls were in good hands!”

“Jen has been great! She is communicative and makes it easy to coordinate. Our (often skittish) dog took some time to warm up, but Jen was patient and worked with her to feel comfortable. Now she’s thrilled to see Jen and sad when she has to say goodbye. All around, an amazing experience.”

“Abby was so attentive to my pups! She gave them so much love and made sure they got lots of activity during her visits. She was very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend her.”

About: I enjoy walking dogs around the neighborhood and don't mind administering medicine when needed. I have given my own cat injections daily for diabetes and pills as well. I work from home and live in Clayton, so I have the flexibility to visit animals on any given day. I have flexibility mornings and evenings. I have 2 indoor and 2 outdoor cats of my own. I'm comfortable walking dogs and playing with them inside and outside. I'm happy to take your dog to the dog park if you're comfortable with them being in my car.
“Leah was quite literally the best dog sitter we have ever had. She was so kind and loving to our girl and we didn’t worry a bit while we were out of town. We will absolutely be using Leah again!”

“Dominique was so friendly and easy to work with. She took such good care of my senior dog and her needs. You can tell how much she loves animals and her job. I would absolutely use Dominique again. She took my dogs frisbee everywhere and Bella approved!”

“Second time i had Emily do check ins for my girls while we were away, and based on the pictures, safe to say they enjoy Emily! They are always cheerful, and i come home to a clean mess free home and no accidents :) So i know emily truly takes time and care for them while she stops in. She will be my go to every time!”

“Courtney has taken great care of our dogs each time she has covered for us and it would be impossible to go out of town without her help! She is trustworthy, friendly, and has gone out of her way to help us each time we've needed her. Thanks Courtney!”

About: I am a dedicated momma to 2 human teenager and 1 fur baby, Oliver. I've cared for multiple pets in our home, checked on neighbor's dogs when they're out of town, and also fostered dogs in need of a safe place to stay. We're a dog family through and through. I'm in between jobs right now so I'm available for walking, drop-ins, boarding, and day care and can take on short notice gigs. I can't wait to love on your fur baby! I have a very open and flexible schedule. I prefer to offer care M-F during the hours of 9:00 am and 9:00 pm, but I'm also flexible if the need arises! I always meet a new dog with gentleness and let them feel me out - smell my hand, don't approach them, give a treat, etc. I always stick to the instructions and routine provided by their family to keep the care as stress-free as possible for the pup. My goal in pet care is to make sure the dogs feel loved and cared for while their owners are away!
“Kaylee is the best, I had a last minute request and she went above and beyond to take care of my three pups. Always on time and respectful of our house and pups. No doubt I will book her again to take care of my pups. Thank you Kaylee”

“Followed directions for the pets and communicated through the app for our crew for a couple of drop-in visits. Received a photo and a short message at each visit. We'll call on her again when needed!”

“Mady was great with my dogs! She even played in the floor with them. She went beyond what I even asked for her to do and I will definitely be getting her again soon to watch my dogs.”

“Bridgette is great overall! She asked to meet up prior to watching my dog so she could get a feel, which we did, and it was very nice. Then she ended up watching Kota while I was out of town and she was very communicative, trustworthy, and accommodating. Highly recommend Bridgette for her pet-loving services!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Clayton. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
