“Tori was an absolute gem to work with! We were 6 hours away in the mountains for our wedding, and having Tori look after our girls gave us peace of mind to focus on us. We loved getting the updates on how our girls were doing, and loved seeing all the photos she captured of our girls while we were away. We will absolutely book with Tori again!”

“Sarah was on time and did a great job every visit. Went above and beyond finding the cat under the bed to get us a picture. Will hire again. Highly recommend.”

“My kitties who tend to avoid strangers continued to eat their food and were in good spirits when I got back. Jordan handled all the logistics of everything with a great attitude.”

“Rodrigo is a caring animal owner himself. He shows much love for all animals. Rodrigo is very reliable and trust worthy. He has come into our lives at the most needed time. We have already rebooked him! Our rescue baby girl loves him! She is an American pitbull terrier who doesn’t like all, but Rodrigo stole her heart!”

About: I worked at an animal hospital for 4 years as a vet assistant. I have my Bachelors and Masters in Animal Science from NC State. I love all animals! I have had many pets in my life including dogs, cats, fish, gerbils, etc. I currently work 8-5 on weekdays, but I am free to check in on pets before or after work and I am free on the weekends! I take care of other people’s pets as if they are my own. I know how important it is to have proper and trustworthy pet care as these animals are someone’s fur baby! I make sure that pets are comfortable and are as happy as can be!
“Suzie is an amazing sitter! I can always count on her to take excellent care of my animals. She cares for them just as much as I do and I never have to worry when they are in her care. Last minute she even agreed to feed my baby goats without hesitation. She’s the greatest!”

“Kira always does a wonderful job with my dog. She’s on time, super attentive to any instructions, and very communicative! I always feel comfortable knowing Kira is watching my dog - would highly recommend!”

“Jiahui was dependable and great my fur babies loved her! She was available at the last minute over the holiday, sent lots of pictures, and communicated clearly. I will definitely book Jiahui again!”

“Adreanna was great with my dog Zoey. Zo warmed up to her immediately when she met her, which is not the norm as she is usually a bit shy when meeting new people. Adreanna was awesome at communicating and always responds quickly. She is also really flexible with the check ins. I did not worry about a thing knowing she was checking on Zoey. Highly recommend her if you're needing someone to watch your pet!”

About: I worked as a veterinary technician for three years and have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. I grew up with cats and recently cared for my own dog for 15 wonderful years, so I understand how important gentle, attentive, and loving care is. I work from home so my schedule is flexible. I treat every animal as if they were my own and always prioritize comfort, safety, and happiness I work from home which allows me plenty of free time along with flexibility to be able to focus on your pets and meet their needs. I live in a clean, dog-friendly apartment and always make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and at home. I follow routines closely and provide constant supervision.
About: I’ve been around and cared for dogs for years, including my own two dogs with very different sizes, ages, and personalities. I’m comfortable with puppies, larger dogs, feeding routines, walks, playtime, basic training reinforcement, and giving lots of attention and affection. As a teacher, I’m patient, dependable, organized, and used to following routines and specific instructions. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets, so I’ll always treat them like they’re my own and keep you updated while they’re with me! During the school year, I work as a teacher, so I’m primarily available in the afternoons, evenings, weekends, and on school breaks. I’m happy to work pet care into my routine for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention. My schedule can vary, so I’m always happy to communicate with pet parents ahead of time to make sure I can meet their pet’s needs. I have two friendly dogs of my own, so I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe and comfortable while you’re away. My apartment community has a dog park for convenient outdoor and play time, and with owner permission, I also enjoy taking dogs to larger parks like Dorothea Dix and Lake Benson. I always follow each pet’s normal routine, personality, and comfort level. During boarding, your pet will get plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and love, along with pictures and updates throughout their stay!
“Madison took excellent care of our cats while we were away. She kept us updated every day with reassuring messages, which gave us great peace of mind. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“Moriah was absolutely excellent. I requested her only hours before the first check-in and she showed up right on time! She followed all instructions and took great pictures of the kitties! They played together and my two cats really took to her. Will definitely book again.”

“Second time booking him for drop in visits to watch my cat. So glad he was available to come stop by so Kevin wouldn’t get lonely all by himself while I was in Florida. After the first visit I asked to add a few more days and he easily added them for me! Thanks again and I hope everyone leaves him great tips because he deserves it! :)”

Erica was wonderful! She was very kind, reliable, and took great care of my cat while I was away. I really appreciated her updates and the peace of mind she provided throughout the stay. It was clear that she genuinely cared, and I would absolutely book her again. Highly recommend!

Hannah did a wonderful job taking care of my babies while I was out of town! My cats are very shy, and Hannah made sure to find them in their hiding spots, check on them, and ensure they were safe and taken care of. She made my vacation much more relaxing, and I loved seeing the daily pics of my cuties! 💕

This was my first time using Rover and I feel so lucky to have picked Meredith as my first official cat sitter. She was punctual, followed all the really specific instructions for my picky cat, and sent the funniest and silliest pictures. She even folded the blankets on the couch. Literally an angel and as long as she is available, I can’t imagine using a different pet sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Garner. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
