“Taylor was an excellent boarder for my dog! She is professional, reliable, responsible, and kind. She paid incredible attention to all of my care instructions, took the time to ensure my dog’s comfort and ease, communicated well and promptly, and she kept me updated with photos and cute anecdotes. Taylor’s home is also well kept and very tidy. I would not hesitate to book with her again and I would recommend Taylor’s services without hesitation.”

“My family and I were preparing to head out of town for my birthday when we realized, in the middle of all the planning, that we had forgotten to schedule a sitter for Oakley. Like any dog mom would, I immediately went to Rover and was pleasantly surprised to see several sitters available. I reached out to a few profiles, and Rebecca D. responded right away, which immediately gave me peace of mind. Rebecca was incredibly kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with. We quickly coordinated a plan for dropping Oakley off, and the process was seamless. When we arrived, Rebecca was already outside waiting for us and gave clear instructions on where to park. She even invited us inside, which we politely declined, but I thought it was such a thoughtful gesture. Prior to our arrival, she also shared information about her dog’s temperament, which I really appreciated. Throughout the weekend, Rebecca kept us updated with photos and videos of Oakley, which made us feel so comfortable while we were away. When we picked him up, he was excited to see us, but it was also obvious that he had a wonderful time with her. Oakley came home happy, and we are so thankful for the care Rebecca provided. I would absolutely recommend booking with her!”

“We loved Maria. Lucy had so much fun playing with Chewy and Maria took great care of my dog. I highly recommend her. I don't feel bad going on vacation knowing Lucy is having so much fun with her new friends. Thanks so much Maria!!”

“Jessie was the best host for our dog Harlow! She made him feel right at home and sent us updates about his day. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who needs someone to care for their pup!”

About: I am a dedicated momma to 2 human teenager and 1 fur baby, Oliver. I've cared for multiple pets in our home, checked on neighbor's dogs when they're out of town, and also fostered dogs in need of a safe place to stay. We're a dog family through and through. I'm in between jobs right now so I'm available for walking, drop-ins, boarding, and day care and can take on short notice gigs. I can't wait to love on your fur baby! I have a very open and flexible schedule. I prefer to offer care M-F during the hours of 9:00 am and 9:00 pm, but I'm also flexible if the need arises! I always meet a new dog with gentleness and let them feel me out - smell my hand, don't approach them, give a treat, etc. I always stick to the instructions and routine provided by their family to keep the care as stress-free as possible for the pup. My goal in pet care is to make sure the dogs feel loved and cared for while their owners are away!
“Another great visit with Martine and Ron! Our dogs LOVE going over there. One of them is a very senior dog, who needs lots of care. That didn't deter Martine and Ron from watching him. He and our other dog were very well taken care of, and we received pictures and updates each day.”

“Lisa and her wonderful family took care of Molly for a week. We had constant updates and pictures and we will definitely used her services again. We would highly recommend her services”

“Barbara is wonderful! She is loving, caring and patient with my fur baby. She also sent me lots of pictures and updates so that I know Pickle (my dog) was doing great and having fun. I will absolutely rebook her again next time when I travel. Highly recommend!”

“Lesley and her family took such amazing care of our dog, Banjo. Banjo was happy, relaxed, and clearly felt at home with them. She kept us updated, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. You can really tell that she and her family genuinely love animals and treat them like part of their own family. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

“We couldn't be happier with the care Hilary and Lucas provided for our dog, Sparta! He had an absolute blast during his stay and even made some new furry friends. It's clear they genuinely love what they do and treat every dog like their own. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our boy! We highly recommend their service to anyone seeking trustworthy and loving care for their pup.”

“Kathleen was great! She took care of my anxious puppy. She kept constant communication with me which gave me peace of mind. She also went the extra mile and practiced so leash walking with him. Thanks Kathleen and I would definitely recommend.”

“Sarah was great and would definitely recommend her to anyone! She kept me up to date on how our pup was with multiple pictures each day. And Smokey had a great time playing with Lainey! Will definitely be booking with Sarah again in the future.”

“Deanna was great with Mezo! His first time away from me with a stranger. She made sure he was comfortable and had lots of play time and had him settled by the next day. Highly recommend her! Also her kids are great with dogs. :-)”

“Once again, Joel has exceeded expectations. We left our highly energetic Lester for an overnight stay. He kept us updated while managing to exercise and entertain Les. Joel did an amazing job earning our trust at our initial sitting encounter before the overnight, and I can’t imagine anyone else coming close. We are so grateful for his service and care. If you are remotely hesitant about leaving your dog, please know that Joel is the best man for the job! We are repeat customers and certainly plan on continuing to be.”

“Jennifer is a top notch dog sitter! I could not have found a better person to take care of my Gio. She gave him so much love and attention and sent me pictures twice a day to show me how happy he was. She prepared his food exactly the way he likes it, let him hang out and sleep on the couch and has a fenced yard so he could get plenty of exercise outside. Having such a great home to leave my pup, really made my vacation so much more enjoyable! I highly recommend Jennifer if you have a small dog that needs their own vacation! You will be so happy you chose her.”

Ryan and Madeline are absolutely amazing. we did a meet and greet prior to boarding and they were so suit and receptive to my pups, and my pups loved them right off the bat! They took such amazing care of Milo and Ziggy, even went above and beyond and when they got into some mud gave them a quick bath. Sent so many pupdates and kept us in the loop without even having to ask! We are already booking with them again and I’m sure will use them in the future even more. Recommend to anyone looking, your pets are in amazing hands with them!

Jackie was amazing! She took incredible care of our pup Nora during holiday travel and sent us photos of all the fun they had. She took notes during our first meet and greet, followed up with us after and was accommodating when my travel delayed. Thank you so much Jackie!

Raul and his family were lifesavers when I needed someone to watch Bo last minute while traveling. Bo got to spend lots of time in their huge backyard and had another doggie friend that he misses already. They sent pictures and updates and I felt completely at peace for Bo’s first sleepover with someone other than family. Thank you all!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
