“Barbara is a gem! We haven’t been able to travel because our Golden has unique needs, but we had a fantastic meet&greet and successful trial sleepover. Barbara is attentive, caring, and treats our fur baby like her own with lots of love. Our furbaby was relaxed and at ease with Barbara, which made leaving her behind a worry free experience!”

“This was the first time my two dogs stayed with Alex, and we were away for five days. The experience was outstanding! Alex’s communication immediately put me at ease, and her attention to detail went above and beyond. All the photos she sent made me so happy—I knew my dogs were in great hands. When we picked them up, it was clear they had been well cared for. There’s no doubt we’ll have Alex watch Sunny and Twigg again! Laura”

“Kelli and Jake took such wonderful care of Herschel! I was able to relax on my trip knowing he was in such great hands. Our flight got delayed 9 hours & they were so kind in being flexible and caring for him!”

“Kelly was great with my anxious old pup. As soon as we arrived he jumped out and made himself at home. Her dogs were very welcoming to a guest. They had plenty of space to roam around and sniff in her fully fenced yard. Kelly has a relaxed demeanor which is very helpful for you and your dog when dropping them off for a trip.I felt confident in her care and would recommend Kelly to anyone.”

About: I’ve take care of all kinds of animals (dogs, cats, reptiles) since I was 10 years old. I have always been a trustworthy person to take care of your beloved family member. I am a teacher, a dog and cat owner myself. I am reliable, honest and kind to every person and animal big or small. I’m a teacher who has open summers. I can come morning, afternoon, or night. I have my own dog and cats that I care for on a daily basis and I would treat your animals just like I would my own. I have a fenced yard with a very friendly, spayed Dalmatian named Blue. I also have 2 very friendly rescue cats, Graham and Mellow. I have a lot of space and experience.
“Taylor was FANTASTIC. We had never left our dog with anyone besides family before so this was a big leap of faith. Our dog is super anxious and Taylor worked to make her comfortable. She was incredibly responsive and sent lots of updates. Definitely spoiled our girl.”

“Elise was amazing!!! Maddie was in great hands and I felt fully confident and satisfied with choosing her as my sitter! Definitely will be bringing Maddie back!”

“During the meet and greet, our Bella roamed around the backyard and instantly connected with Sarai and her daughter. This was the first meet and greet that Bella did not appear anxious and was visibly calm and happy. Dropping Bella off for her stay was seamless as Sarai’s family excitedly welcomed her into their home. During Bella’s stay, Sarai sent regular updates and gorgeous pictures of Bella playing and “taking over” as spoiled dog number 1. Sarai and her family are phenomenal and we will definitely book again.”

“Dillon is very attentive and thoughtful of your pets needs and personality. He responded quickly and sent plenty of updates and pictures to know how Hildy was doing throughout the weekend. He's got a nice big fenced yard for the dogs to play in and took Hildy for walks with his dogs as well.”

“My little one had so much fun staying with Courtney! I did not have to worry at all about her care or safety while I had to be away. Courtney sent daily updates with pictures. I will definitely use Courtney again!”

“Scott & Heather are our go-to dog boarders for our two dogs when we leave town. Their communication and love for our dogs allow us to leave on vacation without worry! Josie and Odie are looking forward to their next stay 😊”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of (and spoiling) Remi while we were away. This was our first time using Rover, and honestly, knowing she was with such a caring family helped us truly relax and enjoy our vacation. It was clear from the updates, photos and videos that she was happy, and well cared for, and that meant so much to us. We really appreciate the time, and extra attention, you showed her. Thank you again for giving us such peace of mind — we would absolutely trust you with her again in the future.”

“She was fast , fun, and friendly . Took care of my lil Freedom with ease. She sent pictures and updated me throughout the day.! I will be returning back with her. She has another dog and makes sure yours is included with anything she does.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clayton
Ryan and Madeline are absolutely amazing. we did a meet and greet prior to boarding and they were so suit and receptive to my pups, and my pups loved them right off the bat! They took such amazing care of Milo and Ziggy, even went above and beyond and when they got into some mud gave them a quick bath. Sent so many pupdates and kept us in the loop without even having to ask! We are already booking with them again and I’m sure will use them in the future even more. Recommend to anyone looking, your pets are in amazing hands with them!

Jackie was amazing! She took incredible care of our pup Nora during holiday travel and sent us photos of all the fun they had. She took notes during our first meet and greet, followed up with us after and was accommodating when my travel delayed. Thank you so much Jackie!

Raul and his family were lifesavers when I needed someone to watch Bo last minute while traveling. Bo got to spend lots of time in their huge backyard and had another doggie friend that he misses already. They sent pictures and updates and I felt completely at peace for Bo’s first sleepover with someone other than family. Thank you all!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
