“Kelly was amazing! We reached out last minute to see if she could watch Hamilton, and she didn’t hesitate for a second. She took such great care of him and treated him like one of her own. She was quick to respond, communicative, and made the whole experience completely stress-free. We’re so grateful and would absolutely book with her again!”

“Kim and John took excellent care of Dixie! I can’t say enough good things about how happy Dixie seemed throughout the week. She even learned how to use the doggie door, thanks to Kim! I was kept updated regularly with photos and texts. Dixie was happy and relaxed when I picked her up, and that is a fantastic testament to the care she received! Dixie and I will be repeat clients for sure!”

“Tracey was fantastic with our energetic Grace, you can tell she genuinely cares for the dogs that she watches over and will cater to their individual needs, for anyone who is skeptical of leaving there pup with someone outside of a boarding facility, I fully endorse Tracey! “Tori and her family took such great care of our small older dog who has some health issues including med administration needs and occasional pain due to previous cancer. Everything from getting holly to their home (Tori last minute offered to pick Holly Up and this was a godsend because our trip was last minute and we were trying to coordinate many other things) to start her visit to pick up and updates in between were great. Her sons are very gentle and natural animal lovers so that was not any concern even though our dog generally prefers calm environments. I would highly recommend Tori and her family for caring for your pet!”

“Isabel was great! My dog had so much fun at their wonderful spacious house. Pretty sure he got a lot of fetch in, he looked so happy in all of the pics. My dog has alot of energy so I was thankful they were home all day to keep him company and play. They kept me updated with pictures and I felt he was def in good hands. Will book again for sure. Fast response and safe space for the pup equals gratefull!”

“Kate took such great care of our 7 month old puppy while we were on vacation. She truly gave her a home away from home and it made us feel so great to know she was being loved on while we were gone!”

“Xiaoyu was incredibly caring and loving with my kitties. One of them is very shy and skittish and only lets me touch her — not even my husband can. To my surprise, Foxy ended up letting Xiaoyu pet her and even slept in their bed . That says everything. Xiaoyu was very responsive, kept me updated the whole time, and sent pictures regularly, which gave me so much peace of mind. She followed all instructions carefully and treated my cats like her own. I am very grateful ♥️”

“Erica took amazing care of our pup for six nights, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. She provided detailed daily check-ins with lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. You can tell she is a true dog lover and genuinely enjoyed spending time with our dog. Her kids were wonderful as well and clearly loved having our pup there. Our dog was absolutely spoiled with attention and care. We are so grateful to Erica and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!”

“Meyling was incredible with my dog. She was very communicative and detail oriented. Her dog was so sweet and got along with mine very well. Meyling gave my dog frequent walks, and was generous with treats and toys and lots of love. She sent many updates and photos to keep me updated. She worked form home and was able to spend lots of time time and attention on my dog. My dog had so much fun, instantly felt at home, and enjoyed the visit. I can not recommend Meyling enough for dogsitting and will be booking with her again whenever we need it.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
