About: I have had Pets in my family since I was a child. I have always wanted to work with dogs as a means of employment. I started volunteering at the SPCA of Wake County in December of 2018. I immediately signed up to work in the dog area as a dog butler. My duties include cleaning their rooms, potty breaks in the yard area, walks, working on basic training commands through positive reinforcement practices and making them feel comfortable and loved through a very stressful time until they find their forever homes. I was recently asked to become a lead volunteer which means I am now involved in training new volunteers and work with dogs that have some behavioral issues. Volunteering at the SPCA has given me the opportunity to work with dogs of all different sizes, ages and personalities. I was recently hired to transport a puppy adopted from the SPCA to his new home in Austin Texas. I also dog sit on occasion for a friend. I have a very flexible schedule. My only commitment is my time at the SPCA on Mondays and Thursdays. I am available for a long term set schedule and/or last minute requests. I am also available to dog/house sit. Unfortunately I am unable to board dogs in my own home. All pet care would have to be in the client’s home. I apologize for any inconvenience.
9. Meghan N.
“my dog loved megan:)”
10. Cayla J.
“Consistent and a full walk! Thank you for being awesome!”
11. Kim L.
“Kim helped me out at short notice, taking my high-energy dog on an hour-long walk on a hiking trail. He took to her the moment he smelled her, and had a great time with her. She asked pertinent questions before taking him out, and picked up the instructions for the e-collar straight away. I would definitely book her again.”
12. Jeanne C.
“Jeanne is an amazing dog person, I left her my German Shepherd for 3 days and he absolutely loves her, he did not want to leave her. She played with him, took him to a lot of parks for walks/runs, gave him his food, and attended all his needs. Extremely recommend her for future dog care, will definitely ask her to take care of my dog for my future vacations.”
13. Emily G.
“Very personable and did a great job with my pup. Will definitely book again”
14. Michelle D.
“I have known Michelle for about 8 years now, and her responsibility and attention to detail are unmatchable. She’s taken care of my dogs on multiple occasions while I was out of town. One of my dogs has a seizure disorder, so he is a little bit of a challenge to care for. He takes medication multiple times a day, and he requires a lot of attention. Michelle cared for him so well, never missing a dose and making sure he and my other dog were happy the entire time!”
15. Andrea A.
“Andrea is an animal lover who is trustworthy and professional. Ever since I have known her, she’s had happy well adjusted dogs. She has a special love of animals and would be a great addition to the platform.”
16. Alissa C.
“Sasha loves Alissa!!”
17. Genie V.
“Genie came to care for my dogs while my family went on vacation for an entire week. We have an elderly dog that struggles to walk and eat, and a very large sheepdog that gets very depressed when we leave. not only did she care for our dogs basic needs, she spent quality time giving them love and cuddles so they weren’t missing us so badly. She also went out of her way and bought a soft food (after asking me first) to mix with some kibble for my elderly dog who was having trouble eating at the time. She is a very trustworthy person, and she has a very special love for all animals. She’s simply the BEST!”
18. Lindsey W.
About: My name is Lindsey I live in Fuquay-Varina with my wife and two dogs Zeeva & Runner. I love all dogs and have had a few bunnies and a cat in the past. I had been looking for a part time position when I found this perfect opportunity. * I am also on the WAG app for dog walking as well as do personal sitting/boarding and walking with direct payment options. * Spending time with pets is more then extra income for me. I enjoy spending time with pets, learning about their personalities as they are all so unique and want to do my best to make their owners feel like they are staying with family. Its always a fun and an exciting experience and strive for the owners to feel relaxed and at ease while I take care of their furry family member! I am always the person friends and family have called to pet sit. I am open to discuss rates. Why I love dog sitting I've always loved dogs as well as most other animals. During my childhood I had a cat as well as our dog Chloe that we got when she was only a few months old. I always felt very protected and safe while we had her. She was a beautiful white Lab and was very well behaved. I love dog seeing each dogs personalities and learning more and more about behaviors. Unconditional love of a dog is the best thing in life! My experience administering medication As long as I am briefly trained I can do pretty much anything asked of me (within reason); however cannot give any injections with a needle I work Mon-Fri at this time at a medical office but transitioning to part time soon. I have my own fur babies at home but also have my wife to help with them at home as she also is an animal and pet lover. I am flexible with the needs of the care for your baby as I myself am particular on the best care for my Zeeva and Runner. I will give love and safety the same way I care for my own and keep the routine you have for your fur baby or babies as requested
19. Michelle H.
“Ms. Michelle is honestly the dog whisperer! Baby was adopted from a home that did not socialize her, so she wasn't the greatest with new people or animals, and being only 3lbs, she tended to be needy to say the least. Ms. Michelle has kept Baby numerous times for me when I travel for my job and can't take her with me. She adheres to my requests about crate times for bed ( being so small and working hard to train her, sleeping in a crate was a must) and I would face time her to see! She sent me pictures and videos while keeping her. The other thing I loved was that Baby got a stomach virus one time while Ms. Michelle had her and she called me, immediately took her to the vet and kept me informed the entire time. Being 3lbs a virus could have been deadly. When I arrived to pick her up, she had her in her arms talking to her and loving on her and reassuring her I was on the way. Baby won't ever stay with anyone else when I travel except Ms. Michelle.”
20. Melany A.
“Melany is a young woman who cares for pets with love and responsibility, she worries about their health and well-being at all times, she does it with joy and that affection is contagious. ING. Yesenia”
