About: Hi! My name is Phinette! Growing up, I have always been a huge animal lover. As a child, I had three small dogs who I am so grateful I got to grow up with until they were in their late teens. My family rescued our current pit bull mix, Oakley, 6 years ago, who is now reaching his elderly years, as well as six cats! I truly love seeing the different personalities in each animal and finding out what makes them unique. I am great with high energy dogs including puppies, love being active, so I would love to help get their energy out with walks/runs! I am currently a Physical Therapist Assistant student and attend school Monday–Thursday, typically from 8:30 AM–4:00 PM. My availability will change throughout October and November, so I’ve outlined my schedule below to make it easier to see when and where I’m available! **House Sitting** **Through October 7:** I’m happy to travel farther for house sitting, especially toward the Chapel Hill/Pittsboro area since I commute there for school. **October 8–26:** I’ll have open availability and can travel to a wider area for house sitting. **October 27–November 20:** I’ll be completing clinicals in the Lillington area from approximately 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, so I’ll primarily be looking for house sitting opportunities closer to Angier/Lillington. However, I’m happy to travel farther for longer stays! **After November 20:** I’ll have open availability throughout December and the holidays. **Dog Walks & Drop-In Visits** **Through October 7:** Available Friday–Sunday all day, as well as evenings Monday–Thursday. **October 8–26:** Open availability every day! **October 27–November 20:** Available Monday–Friday in the evenings and Saturday–Sunday all day. I’ll be completing clinicals in the Lillington area during the weekdays, so weekday requests closer to Angier/Lillington are preferred. **After November 20:** Open availability throughout December and the holidays! I know how scary it can be to have someone you don’t know stay in your home and care for your pet. That’s why it’s really important to me to build a relationship and trust with my clients, so it doesn’t feel like a stranger is in your home. I’ll make sure your pet and your home are in the best care possible while you’re away, and I have a feeling your pet and I will become best friends by the time you get back! I absolutely love sending pictures and updates, so you’ll never have to wonder how your pet is doing while you’re gone! If you’re someone who doesn’t need as many updates, that’s completely fine too. I’m happy to send them as often or as little as you’d like. I also make sure to check my phone regularly while house sitting, so you’ll always be able to reach me if you need anything. I’m someone who actually loves detailed instructions because they help me make sure I’m doing everything exactly how your pet is used to. I want to keep their normal routine as much as possible while you’re away. I’m also a bit of a neat freak, so you may come home to your house looking a little cleaner than when you left it!

About: Have owned my own dogs and cats over the years. As they've grown older and passed on, I have satisfied my love for animals by caring for my kids' pets when they go on vacation. I've gone to their house and stayed, but also they have stayed in my home while mom and dad are away. We go for walks, and I have a fenced in yard and doggy door them to come and go as they please. Like my grandkids: I love having them and playing, but I also love the flexibility of sending them back to mom and dad! I am a retired teacher and am home most days. I have various errands during the day, or other things, but nothing that would interfere with visiting guests. I no longer have a dog of my own but our visiting fur babies ( and the grands) have a fenced yard with doggy door. Dogs are secure inside the back yard. I care for one dog, that loves the back yard and wants to stay out all day, weather permitting. He is safe and secure there with water and shade, and comes in when he is ready. But most of the dogs come inside. They are free to go out to play and do their business.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life—often caring for more than one at a time—so daily routines like feeding, walking, playtime, and recognizing behavior patterns are second nature to me. I also have experience caring for cats and small animals, and I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique needs and personality. I’m very detail-oriented and take the time to follow your pet’s routine closely, whether that’s specific feeding instructions, medication schedules, preferred walking routes, or favorite toys and habits. I understand that consistency is what helps pets feel safe and at ease, especially when their owners are away. You can expect thoughtful, reliable care and consistent updates so you always know how your pet is doing. As a teacher, I have expanded availability during the summer and can take on additional bookings during that time. Currently, I offer evening and weekend availability and do my best to accommodate schedules with advance notice. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I have a friendly, well-socialized dog in my home who gets along well with others; however, I always introduce pets gradually and will keep my dog separated or crated as needed until everyone is fully comfortable. Pets in my care receive regular leash walks, plenty of playtime, and mental stimulation to keep them happy and engaged. I follow all routines and instructions closely and am happy to accommodate any specific requests to make sure your pet feels safe, secure, and well cared for.

About: I have had dogs my entire life, and always find myself drawn to them. As a young woman searching for my purpose, I want to spend my time doing what fulfills me. I have been pet sitting for my friend who has a dog aggressive dog, and enjoy spending the quality time with her. I will always give exceptional care and focus on forming lasting friendships with the animals in my care. Friendships that last longer than a meet and greet or drop-in visit. I am always looking out for the pet and putting their needs first. I pay attention to animal behavior and never push past their limit, to ensure a good relationship is being built. My primary goal is to make sure the client and pet are comfortable. I currently am not in school or employed as I recently moved to the area. I have lots of time on my hands to spend with your baby. I will always put the pet's needs first, and ensure I keep their schedule the same as my client does for them. I care for the animal and the home and keep it just as I found it.

I genuinely love spending time with animals and treat every pet like they’re my own. I currently work part-time, so my availability varies during the week. I work full days on Fridays, but outside of that I’m flexible. About: I have been a dog lover since childhood, and my passion for animals continues to grow. I have a high-energy dog named Pepper, who is a 9-year-old Double Doodle. As she has gotten older, I have gained experience in taking care of her, including washing, playing, feeding, and walking her. I have also done pet-sitting for some family friends from time to time. I will do my best to meet all the needs of your furry friend so they can thrive! Morning until late afternoon is the best time for me to care for your furry friend. I am often busy after those times due to school and home responsibilities. However, there will be times when later hours work for me. I will mark it all on my calendar so you will be in the know! In your home, I will treat your pet with the utmost care while also respecting the rules of your household. Listening and being attentive to a pet are two of the most important things to petsitting. I will share updates and photos via messages to keep you in the know about how your precious dog is doing!

About: As a lifelong dog lover and proud pug owner, I know pets are family—not just animals. I’ll take the time to learn your dog’s routine, personality, and preferences so they receive consistent, loving care while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, medication reminders, or simply providing companionship, I’ll make sure your dog feels comfortable and happy. I’ll also keep you updated with plenty of photos and communication, because I know how reassuring that is when someone else is caring for your best friend. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and occasional overnight care before and after work, as well as weekends. I’ll always communicate my availability clearly and make sure your pet receives dependable, attentive care and plenty of love while you’re away. As someone who works in the veterinary industry and has a dog of my own, I understand how important trust, communication, and consistency are. I’ll care for your pet as if they were my own while following your instructions closely to ensure they stay happy, healthy, and safe.

About: My connection with fur babies runs deep. I have, often, felt more connected to animals than humans. I believe we all have had animals that we love but, usually, there is one animal that changes everything. You know the one I’m talking about….the one that the connection is (or was), somehow, different or deeper than the others. I call those animals Familiars. Maybe that resonates with you too. Either way, I fully grasp that trusting someone to take care of your fur baby is not just a big deal but, it is a privilege for someone to experience. I have thirteen years of experience taking care of different animals. This includes administering medications, providing senior/end-of-life care (I have a soft spot for the elderly), and learning to understand the language in which animals speak. I, also, have experience rescuing, fostering, and re-homing Australian Shepards. I believe in respect, safety, connection, and consent when it comes to animals. I believe that all animals come into this world to help heal us and I just want to be able to give back (in whatever way I can) a small piece of what they gift me, every day. It would be such an honor to help get to take care of, work WITH, and get to know your little (or big) ball of fur. As an Artist/Creator, my schedule is more flexible than most people. When planned in advance, I have ample time to make sure your fur babies are safe, happy, and healthy when you cannot be there! I ask a lot of questions so I can know and understand the specifics of what each animal needs. My primary goal is to make sure the interaction is safe, for both me and your fur baby. Then, it is my job to ensure your animal is comfortable, content, and they have a good time! I believe this can only happen by working with the owners (and then, with the fur babies).

About: I have always made fast friends with other animals easily and joyfully. Pets really are the greatest gift and I only ever hope to live up to that by providing patience, fun, kindness, and thoughtful care-taking! I have had pets my entire life and have been pet sitting for over 20 years. I take pride in providing the best care possible, being fully present to an animal and their needs, and providing the peace of mind to you that I would want when away from my pets. With pets of my own, I know what it is like to find someone who you truly trust and feel comfortable with - I hope to be that person. I have a flexible hybrid telework schedule that allows me to be available for care-taking around your pets' schedule needs. I will have the utmost respect for your pet and instructions. As for house-sitting, my husband takes care of all our animals so that I can be fully present to stay with yours! I am open and honest and will be available for any more information you would like to know! Thanks for considering me to take care of your precious friends. My work schedule is flexible and I work from home most days. On the days I go into the office, I am not gone for extended hours. I have plenty of time and availability for morning, mid-day, and evening pet care during the week. On weekends, morning play time is always extended, as is snuggle time, and longer walks if the weather allows - but we always spend a ton of time in the backyard, unless our guest prefers naptime on the couch. I take pet care seriously, especially with other people's pets. I treat the animals with the same respect I treat my own, and how I would want someone else to take care of mine. I want the pets I care for to feel safe and happy, and barely miss their owners. That means I am very intentional about their physical as well their emotional needs. And, honestly, I get so much joy meeting new pets and hanging out with them that I want the pets to feel the same way about me. I will follow their normal schedule for feeding, walking, and anything else you ask as part of their routine. I am also very communicative while taking care of your pet(s)! I will check in with you everyday to provide at least a picture and any updates. I take a ton of photos, and love to share those! I am also always available for you to reach out anytime and respond quickly. When it comes to your home, you will not even know I was there, except your pets are happy and well-tended to :). For boarding requests, we have two very friendly small dogs and two dog-friendly cats, they all really do get along and we like to keep a calm and harmonious house! Our dogs will play if the our guest wants to, and our cats are very gracious hosts :). We only board one dog at a time. Please do not reach out if your dog is not (small) dog and cat friendly, thank you! (Our previous dog, RIP, is still listed here, she passed recently and I cannot bring myself to delete her profile yet...)

We had a wonderful experience with our pet sitter! They were patient, calm, and confident with our dog from the moment they met him. Rodger can be a handful at times, but they handled him so well and made him feel comfortable throughout the walk. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. We truly appreciate the love and attention they gave him and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter!

Jennifer is a new walker for my girl, Chloe, and I’ll admit I’m always a little hesitant when someone new starts. Chloe is fun‑loving, energetic, and highly reactive, so finding the right fit matters. From the moment we met, I was impressed with Jennifer. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely interested in getting to know Chloe and what she needs. During their first walk, Chloe had such a great time that she came home and took a long, happy nap. Jennifer is definitely Chloe’s new dog walker, and I hope she’ll be with us for a very long time.

  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
