“Rissa was great with our pup Charlie. He is normally shy but warmed up quickly to her! She has excellent communication skills and so the updates were spot on. It really made us comfortable while we were away knowing Charlie was being well cared for by Rissa with snuggles, nice walks, and playtime. 😊 We would definitely have her again and recommend her care.”

“Kristine was so great with my Charlie who was suffering from extreme separation anxiety and wouldn’t eat or walk outside. She actually figured out a way to get Charlie to eat and drink something by putting her bowls in my master bath next to my closet where Charlie seemed to want to be often. I so appreciate that she knew how to just let Charlie chill and kept her calm and comfortable during her stay.”

“Natallia was great with Duck! She was very communicative and made sure both Duck and I were comfortable when I had to leave! I will definitely work with Natallia in the future and highly recommend her!”

“Chelsea took such great care of my boys. She sent tons of pics great pics to keep me updated and I could tell they were in great hands and had so much fun. She left the house in great condition and just as good as we left it. Will definitely rebook with her again in the future.”
“They got along very well together. He stayed on schedule and was in a happy mood when we returned. This was her third visit and she thought he was fun with his big boy 12 pounds personality.”

About: I have been a pet sitter for years who specializes in dog care and training. I have a zoology degree from NCSU and 1.5 yrs experience as a kennel technician. During the school year I am a teacher so I am looking for income over the summer working remotely. Looking to supplement another part-time job. Currently I live in a townhouse with my dog 6 year old dog Mickey and 1 year old cat Guinness. Mickey is a 6yr old lab Dalmatian mix who is well trained and loves to play with other pups. I typically love setting up dog play dates and walks. Guinness is a spunky 1 year old black cat. Social, but does his own thing.
“I can't say enough good things about Valari! She was wonderful at keeping me posted with detailed updates and did a fantastic job sticking to my two pups' strict daily routine. She is genuinely the sweetest person and put their well-being above everything else. We are so happy with her and will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“Brooke is responsive and nice! She did a great job taking care of our girl, Sadie Mae. my only feedback to her would be to send more updates with pictures too! 5 star service besides that, thanks Brooke.”

“Anthony did a fantastic job taking care of our fur babies and our home. We found him to be very trustworthy, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. He showed a lot of patience and compassion with our high-energy puppy, which is no small task. He kept us updated daily with messages about their activities and how they were doing, which we really appreciated. We also came home to a clean, well-kept house. It was clear he treated our home and pets with care and respect. We would absolutely trust Anthony to watch our pets and home again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive sitter.”

About: I've taken care of numerous kinds of dogs, from small to big and everyone has been happy with my services. I am comfortable getting dogs medication and any special treatments. I'm currently a part-time college student with a very open schedule. I will have plenty of time to play with and take care of your animals! In your home I will take care of your dog to the highest standard and follow any safety steps needed to make sure they stay safe and happy.
“Mike is great! This is the first time we have requested that he watch our dogs. He did in-house sitting for us while we were on vacation. He came and met with me and the dogs a couple times before the actual stay, and he communicated throughout the entire stay with pictures of the dogs. It seems that everyone was well taken care of and happy when we got home!”

“Taylor is the absolute best! She allowed for a meet and greet and her schedule was very flexible. I loved having Taylor because she truly was dedicated to the needs of my doggo who can be very hyper. Taylor was the best sitter I have experienced in a long time.”

“We’re very happy with the care Thor received! Jeremy did a great job looking after him—very attentive, responsible, and caring. He was also an excellent communicator, keeping us updated throughout his time with him. Thor seemed happy and well taken care of the whole time. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was young till now with my two dogs, and two cats. I love to hike and walk with my dogs. They also love playing ball or chasing toys around in home. Cats are older now so they just want love and pets. I work full-time but that doesn’t stop me from having time to make sure our animals get play and care when I get home. I’m available weekends or after 5 pm for any care for your animal :) I have two dogs that are dog friendly and a crate if needed. I have a park right across the street to have long walks or play in grass or they even have a dog park.
“Dawn was incredible! We came home to two very happy, healthy, and well loved pups. I was unavailable to contact sometimes due to our trip and she was still very diligent in sending photos, videos, and updates! My larger pup has had some health scares and Dawn was very detailed in her notes and was willing to take her to the vet immediately upon a small change in behavior but waited for my input ☺️. I will definitely be reaching out to Dawn in the future for any of our needs. I’ve never felt so confident and comfortable in the care our dogs received. We got our honeymoon and our dogs got almost two weeks of spoiling! Not to mention that this was a last minute booking due to our other sitter canceling with less than a weeks notice for a 12 day trip!!”

“Julie (Payton) was the perfect fit for a week of overnights with our babies! She was so good at communicating with us during her stay about questions and any issues as they came up. Our dogs LOVED her and enjoyed the cuddles and play time, and even a car ride to the coffee shop for a pup cup! She was so patient with our large dog that i think was trying to go with her to work and escaped the small fenced area while she was trying to leave, and she made sure he was secured again before leaving. She also gave our horses some love while we were gone, which she didn't have to do! And they loved her too! Definitely recommend using her for any persisting needs as she is reliable, trustworthy and truly goes above and beyond to love the animals.”

“House was well cared for and pets were healthy when we arrived home. Halley was professional in preparing for visit, was available by phone and text. She could improve by sending more proactive communication and pictures of pets getting their walks and care especially in the beginning. She could also improve by consistently following walk schedules. She was great in immediately calling when there was an issue with the house. She also stayed with our pets the entire time which we appreciated.”

“Bre was a great house sitter! My dog was so well cared for and loved on. Bre even checked our mail and washed the towels she used. She’s a great person for your next house sit or pet sit. Will definitely use her again to care for my dog and home.”

“Elena was so helpful and sweet with our cats while we were away. She house sat for us and even cleaned up the house before our return so the house was spotless. Elena was an excellent house sitter and pet sitter and it definitely made us feel confident to leave our pets with a person pursuing veterinary science. We will definitely book Elena for future trips, and highly recommend her to anyone in need of a sitter.”

Kiara is amazing! We’ve used her before and she always takes such great care of our pup and our home. She’s reliable, caring, and gives us total peace of mind when we’re away. It’s obvious she genuinely loves animals, and our pup is always happy with her. Highly recommend Kiara!

Matthew did a fantastic job with Louie. He put in so much effort to build trust with our dog, followed every instruction with great attention to detail, and kept us updated throughout our trip. We also got amazing photos of our pup while we were away, which made us feel completely at ease. Truly a 10/10 experience, highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Willow Spring walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Willow Spring maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Willow Spring choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Willow Spring. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
