“Rissa was great with our pup Charlie. He is normally shy but warmed up quickly to her! She has excellent communication skills and so the updates were spot on. It really made us comfortable while we were away knowing Charlie was being well cared for by Rissa with snuggles, nice walks, and playtime. 😊 We would definitely have her again and recommend her care.”

“Dean did a great job taking care of my Rottie. He gave her lots of attention, sent updates and photos and did everything exactly how we asked him to. He is also super nice. Recommend you hire Dean to care for your pets”

“Kristine was so great with my Charlie who was suffering from extreme separation anxiety and wouldn’t eat or walk outside. She actually figured out a way to get Charlie to eat and drink something by putting her bowls in my master bath next to my closet where Charlie seemed to want to be often. I so appreciate that she knew how to just let Charlie chill and kept her calm and comfortable during her stay.”

About: I have been a pet sitter for years who specializes in dog care and training. I have a zoology degree from NCSU and 1.5 yrs experience as a kennel technician. During the school year I am a teacher so I am looking for income over the summer working remotely. Looking to supplement another part-time job. Currently I live in a townhouse with my dog 6 year old dog Mickey and 1 year old cat Guinness. Mickey is a 6yr old lab Dalmatian mix who is well trained and loves to play with other pups. I typically love setting up dog play dates and walks. Guinness is a spunky 1 year old black cat. Social, but does his own thing.
“I cannot say enough about Anthony. We went away for a week and both of our dogs have severe separation anxiety. Anthony not only loved and cared for them, my Shih tzu hasn’t displayed his former bad habits (taking toilet paper off of the roll and running, chewing shoes). Anthony is THE BEST and I will use him again. Anthony thank you so much, words cannot describe how appreciative we are.”

“I can't say enough good things about Valari! She was wonderful at keeping me posted with detailed updates and did a fantastic job sticking to my two pups' strict daily routine. She is genuinely the sweetest person and put their well-being above everything else. We are so happy with her and will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“Natallia was great with Duck! She was very communicative and made sure both Duck and I were comfortable when I had to leave! I will definitely work with Natallia in the future and highly recommend her!”

“Brooke is responsive and nice! She did a great job taking care of our girl, Sadie Mae. my only feedback to her would be to send more updates with pictures too! 5 star service besides that, thanks Brooke.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was young till now with my two dogs, and two cats. I love to hike and walk with my dogs. They also love playing ball or chasing toys around in home. Cats are older now so they just want love and pets. I work full-time but that doesn’t stop me from having time to make sure our animals get play and care when I get home. I’m available weekends or after 5 pm for any care for your animal :) I have two dogs that are dog friendly and a crate if needed. I have a park right across the street to have long walks or play in grass or they even have a dog park.
“Bre was a great house sitter! My dog was so well cared for and loved on. Bre even checked our mail and washed the towels she used. She’s a great person for your next house sit or pet sit. Will definitely use her again to care for my dog and home.”

“Alyssa was a huge source of comfort while I was out of the country and leaving my two dogs behind for the first time for 10 days. They loved her from the minute they saw her. I hope to use Alyssa again in the future and cannot recommend her enough.”

“This was my first time leaving my pets with a sitter. Kate came over twice beforehand to help put my mind at ease. She took good care of my three fur babies and house while I was away. She sent pictures throughout the stay and always responded when I messaged her. I would use Kate again in the future.”

“Ella was fantastic! She was dependable and spent a lot of time with our dogs playing outside. We came home to happy, well taken care of dogs! I would absolutely trust my fur-babies with her again.”

“Kristina took impeccable care of my cat. She sent me multiple pics and video of him daily and it eased my worries about leaving him. Highly recommend Kristina!”

“Sydnie did an amazing job taking care of our home and pets while we were out of town. She sent daily photos and updates. We have an older dog and a complicated kitty, both of which require medication and special care. Sydnie was very patient with them and provided excellent care. I will definitely be calling on her again the next time we go out of town.”

About: I am a dog lover who truly enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Although I am new to Rover, I previously rescued and cared for a Labrador–Pitbull mix for four years, which gave me valuable experience with active dogs, daily exercise routines, and providing patient, loving care. Although I do not currently have a dog at home, I regularly help pet sit and care for my friends’ dogs and enjoy building trust with animals of different personalities and energy levels. I am comfortable providing walks, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and companionship while you are away. I currently offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting in the pet owner's home, where pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. You can expect reliable communication, punctual visits, and lots of care and affection for your pet. I treat every dog as if they were my own and always prioritize their safety, happiness, and routine. Also, I am happy to send photo updates during every visit so you can feel reassured that your pet is safe and happy. I am available for pet care from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM on weekdays (Monday–Friday) for dog walking or drop-in visits. I have full availability on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), which allows me to provide longer visits, pet sitting, walks, feeding, and companionship. I enjoy spending time with animals and plan my schedule carefully to make sure every pet receives reliable, attentive, and loving care during each visit. I focus on making pets feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed in their familiar environment. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow the owner’s instructions closely regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, and routines. I always ensure doors, gates, and leashes are secure during walks and outdoor breaks. I provide plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship so pets feel calm while their owners are away. I also send regular updates and photos to keep owners reassured that their pets are happy and well cared for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fuquay-Varina
Met Kaylee before the dog sitting. For her to meet the dogs. Kaylee was very good with meeting the dogs and understanding expectations. Kaylee is responsible. This young lady has good life experience. At first met with the dogs they settled right in with her. I’ll use her again.
Could not have asked for anything more. So attentive and communicative. Above and beyond in every possible way. Thanks for all the pictures and updates. Thanks for the daily walks. Thanks for the love you gave to Toby and Freya. Left my house clean and tidy. Highly recommend!!!

Matthew did a fantastic job with Louie. He put in so much effort to build trust with our dog, followed every instruction with great attention to detail, and kept us updated throughout our trip. We also got amazing photos of our pup while we were away, which made us feel completely at ease. Truly a 10/10 experience, highly recommend!
Bryce was amazing! He was so nice and respectful when he came by to meet us and the dogs before we left, and he paid attention to every little detail we shared. He stayed overnight and sent updates and pictures from every walk, which was great. You can tell he truly cared for our pups and took great care of our home, everything was spotless when we got back. Highly recommend!!

Colleen housesat for us and was very communicative. She made our animals feel very loved and comfortable with her. She really paid attention to their needs and was respectful of our house guidelines… when we have a future need for a sitter or someone to do a drop in we will definitely be contacting Colleen again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fuquay-Varina on Rover is $52.17 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,013 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fuquay-Varina. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fuquay-Varina walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fuquay-Varina maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fuquay-Varina choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fuquay-Varina. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
