“Jennifer was amazing and such a huge help for us during a really unpredictable time while we were waiting for the arrival of our son. She was kind enough to stay on standby for drop-in visits with our dog, and the day we got admitted to the hospital she was incredibly easy to get ahold of, accommodating, and flexible. She sent us tons of updates and pictures which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was very clear our dog felt comfortable and happy with her, and that meant everything to us. We’re so grateful for her help and will absolutely be using her again in the future!”

“Amber took great care of our two kitties. We were updated anytime there was anything of note or to let us know things were going well. We felt very comfortable knowing she was there taking care of them.”

“Lauren was wonderful. She did everything we asked and took good care of our cat while we were away. She even brought a package inside that was left on our porch so it wouldn't look like we were away. Would definitely engage her again.”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals for around 30 years. I have both fostered and owned animals as well as watched other. I have owned my dog since she was a puppy, so I have experience with younger dogs. I have helped family friends with their older dogs who need help moving around and cannot stay home alone. I have also long term fostered a special needs dog. I am an empty nester and when my children moved out they took their pets. I’ll be able to devote my time and attention to your pets as you need me to. During my previous time pet sitting I have stayed at the owner’s home as well as done 2-3 times a day check ins. When doing these I play by house rules. Crating a dog is not a problem as that is what I do with my own. I have pet sat for people who do and do not crate their animals.
“Ella responded quickly and took excellent care of my cats! She sent lots of pictures and sent detailed updates on them. Thank you for taking such good care of them!”

“Rachel was amazing! She coordinated a meet and greet with only 2 days notice, and she handled 5 dogs with grace! She was very nice, communicative, and easy to work with. Would highly recommend!!”

“Jennifer was great with our babies and our home!! I had wonderful honeymoon because we booked Jennifer to take care of Jack and Riley! They enjoyed playing and seeing Jennifer and we will be rebooking for sure!! She’s so thoughtful and kind!!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for friends and family for the past 4 years. I have experience with both dogs and cats, and I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life. I genuinely love spending time with animals and treat every pet like they’re my own. I currently work part-time, so my availability varies during the week. I work full days on Fridays, but outside of that I’m flexible. I always follow your care instructions, keep a clean and secure environment, and make sure pets have fresh water, regular potty breaks, exercise, and lots of love.

“Anna was fantastic, on short notice she was able to come meet my boys, understand their routine and be here for their check-ins. Great communication during the drop-in visits and lots of pictures.”

“Emma was awesome with taking care of Blue while we were away for the week. She kept his area tidy, played with him and even groomed him a couple of times. I definitely am pleased with her services and will definitely be booking her again.”

About: Have owned my own dogs and cats over the years. As they've grown older and passed on, I have satisfied my love for animals by caring for my kids' pets when they go on vacation. I've gone to their house and stayed, but also they have stayed in my home while mom and dad are away. We go for walks, and I have a fenced in yard and doggy door them to come and go as they please. Like my grandkids: I love having them and playing, but I also love the flexibility of sending them back to mom and dad! I am a retired teacher and am home most days. I have various errands during the day, or other things, but nothing that would interfere with visiting guests. I no longer have a dog of my own but our visiting fur babies ( and the grands) have a fenced yard with doggy door. Dogs are secure inside the back yard. I care for one dog, that loves the back yard and wants to stay out all day, weather permitting. He is safe and secure there with water and shade, and comes in when he is ready. But most of the dogs come inside. They are free to go out to play and do their business.
“Thank you so much for taking care of our special girl. I’m glad she went out to the bathroom for you. It gave us a great night out and a great first experience.”

“Kelly goes above and beyond for our dogs and we're so glad to have found her! We hate traveling without our senior dogs but when we must, it's a relief to know they're in good hands. Kelly is attentive, communicative, and spends time making sure walks are long enough, meds are swallowed, and bellies are full. One of our dogs had some accidents and Kelly cleaned up thoroughly even though I said not to worry too much about it. When they ran out of carrots, she brought more! We were amazed. Best sitter around.”

“I highly recommend Alicia as a pet sitter. She took care of our dog for a week with drop-in visits while we were in Los Angeles for our son's wedding. She sent us updates and photos with each visit. Our dog had some shyness issues with her at first, but Alicia quickly won her over with kindness and patience. In addition, Alicia went above and beyond when she spent over an hour trying to get our dog inside from our big fenced-in yard. She called me for advice and between the two of us (me in LA and she in FV) finally got our dog inside and came up with a plan to prevent the same thing happening again and still let our dog enjoy the outside. Thank you so much, Alicia! We really appreciate the great care you gave our dog!!!! :-)”

“Carolyn did a wonderful job checking in on my dog while I was away. She made sure she had food and fresh water, let her out, spent time with her, and sent updates and photos that gave me real peace of mind. It was reassuring to know my dog was being cared for and getting some extra attention while I was gone. I would absolutely recommend her and would gladly use her services again!”

“Absolutely Amazing Dog Sitter! I cannot say enough wonderful things about my dog sitter! She went above and beyond in every possible way while I was out of the country. Since our original walk-through, my entire setup had changed, and I completely forgot to update her on several important details—including the special food that one of my dogs requires. Not only did she handle everything with grace and professionalism, but she also took the initiative to find the best solution for my dogs. She even went out of her way to purchase high-quality meat to mix with their food to make sure they were well taken care of. That level of care and attention meant the world to me. She kept me updated with plenty of pictures and communicated exceptionally well throughout the entire stay, giving me complete peace of mind while I was traveling. Because of her, I was able to enjoy my trip knowing my babies were in the best hands possible. I will absolutely be booking with her again, and I already plan to use her services in the next couple of months. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares for your pets as if they were her own, don’t hesitate to book her. My only warning? Don’t book her on the same days I need her—she’s that good! 😊 Thank you again for taking such amazing care of my fur babies. You are truly the best!”

Lauren was the perfect sitter/caretaker while we attended two destination weddings. She was available to meet in person to go over care details for our kitty and always showed up for the designated care schedule on time. She gave detailed updates every day and this helped ensure our kitty got the check-ins and new food she needed. Lauren gave us peace of mind and we knew our kitty was on the best of hands! We will definitely rebook with Lauren for future care!

My wife and I were amazed of the quality care John gave our cat Buki. I believe she was definitely given a very posh time in those short three days, and would truly recommend his drop ins again for she was very delighted that he spent that time with her. John was punctually on time, professional and caring of our fur baby. He left our place clean and spotless as well. A true gentleman indeed!

I was so fortunate to find Vicki and Michael! .They are timely, conscientious, followed my camel's (just kidding!) watering instructions and, most importantly, were loving towards my fella. They replaced the gate and put feeding items back as found. They even walked him twice on their visit! I think my fella likes Michael more than me! Vicki even chose to stay and visit extra with him while Michael did a nearby errand (How sweet is that?) where upon my pooch fell asleep on her lap! Thanks, you two. I anticipate using them again!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! we loved working with erica! we will be using her for every pet sitting need. she went above and beyond for us this holiday and we are so grateful. she sent so many pictures daily of my babies and updated me on how they were doing. she gave great detail every check in on what they were doing and how they played etc. she truly loved on my babies and it made me feel so much better knowing they were getting all the loves while i was away from them!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
