Pet care experience

Medically Fragile Care by a Vet

I am a veterinarian, but am currently a full-time, stay at home parent. I have decades of experience with all animals including exotics, family pets such as dogs and cats, horses, and farm animals. I graduated vet school in 2007 and went on to specialize and become board certified in internal medicine. My passion is caring for sick animals and walking along side you, their owner, during that time. I know many are wary of leaving their sick pet, but may be in need of a break or even required to leave for work or family. My hope is that I can alleviate some of that stress and worry by caring for your medically fragile pet while you are away. With years of experience as a vet, I am more than comfortable caring for pets who have IVs, need medication orally or through their IV, have feeding tubes, need fluids administered, need ophthalmic care, are still recovering from a surgery, have neurological or epileptic conditions, or even need help walking with a sling. I would love to talk about your particular situation and see if my expertise would be helpful for you and your loved one. I am not here to diagnose or suggest alternative treatments, but want to come alongside you and your veterinarian and help give more specialized care with a trained eye so that you and your loved one feel at ease and cared for. Based on their needs or medical condition, we will see if your beloved pet would be more comfortable in your house with drop in visits or in the comfort of my home. Each case is unique and I would love the opportunity to discuss your needs to ensure we do what’s best for you and your pet.

Amanda was great! We will definitely be booking her again. Being a person that is 24/7 with my emotional service dog Amanda gave me mental peace. Macarena was well treated, loved like part of the family and had a wonderful time. Amanda was attentive, informative with status updates and we were really grateful for it. We are so happy we found her.

Koda and Dixie loved staying with Amanda and her family! They spent lots of time running and playing outside, and were well taken care of. Amanda provided updates and photos throughout their stay which gave us peace of mind that the dogs were enjoying their time!

Amanda was a fantastic sitter for our dog that requires bladder expression. This was the first time we’ve been away from the dogs and used a sitter, we were very nervous but the experience could not have better for us or the dogs. Amanda’s attention to detail, veterinary background, and clear and frequent communication put us at ease the entire time we were away from the pups!

Amanda is wonderful! You can leave your pets and not worry about them at all! Duncan and Maeve get so excited when we pull up to her house.

Amanda and her family were the absolute best. I’m so grateful with the love and care they gave Venus over these five days. Venus had an amazing time and the updates / photos from Amanda across the week were perfect. Thank you so much!
