“Joan is the absolute best! She’s our regular dog walker for the afternoons and she’s so responsible. She’s always on time and cares tremendously for our dog, Tiger. This time we had her dog sit for Memorial Day weekend. She was extremely responsive to our check ins. Provided constant updates and cute pictures. Took great care of the apartment and was just overall wonderful. I trust Joan with my precious dog Tiger any day.”

“The sitter we had lined up ended up having to cancel last minute due a family emergency. We were very fortunate to find Lynnwood. She was great at communicating and we were able to meet her and hire her within a few days. Our dogs LOVED her. My female can be particular when meeting new people and she ran right to her . This was our first time using Rover and having an in home sitter. Lynnwood was great at keeping in touch and sending pictures. It definitely helped my momma heart rest easy knowing someone was taking good care of our babies . She left our home nice and clean and was very respectful. We will definitely be using her in the future.”

About: I have been caring for pets since I was 10 years old, and animals have always held a special place in my heart. Over the years, I’ve gained experience with pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I understand that every pet is unique and deserves patience, love, and attentive care. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I currently work full-time, so my availability may vary throughout the week. I do my best to keep my calendar updated and accommodate requests whenever possible. When caring for your pet, I am committed to providing reliable, attentive, and loving care to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Your pet will be welcomed into a safe, loving environment. I have two friendly dogs for companionship and plenty of space for crates if needed.

“Rachel is our go-to sitter when we have to leave town without our pups. It’s great to know our dogs are getting lots of love and cuddles when we’re away. Rachel is dependable, fantastic at communicating with us throughout her stay, and makes sure our home is tidy when we return.”

“Cayla was great with our dog Lacy, she was communicative and our pup was taken care of extremely well. She watched Lacy in our home, and not only respected Lacy, but kept our home clean and was respectful which is just as important. We will gladly use Cayla again and recommend her for anyone in the area!”

About: I have cared for both small, medium, and large-sized dogs & cats of my own and of family and friends’. I can take them for walks, feed/give them water, play with them, and supervise them in their home. I am an outpatient registered nurse. My availability will fluctuate depending on my work schedule, but I am available most weekends & weekdays anytime after 5pm! I will keep my calendar up to date. In the client’s home I will follow all rules and regulations they present, and spend a lot of my time playing with the dog, feeding (on schedule), & taking them for walks during the cool hours of the day.

“Hailey was a pleasure to work with and took good care of our 4 pets while we were on vacation for a week. Pictures were sent and we communicated during the duration which made us feel more at ease. She was very responsible and capable, and we were thankful for her services.”
About: I have always made fast friends with other animals easily and joyfully. Pets really are the greatest gift and I only ever hope to live up to that by providing patience, fun, kindness, and thoughtful care-taking! I have had pets my entire life and have been pet sitting for over 20 years. I take pride in providing the best care possible, being fully present to an animal and their needs, and providing the peace of mind to you that I would want when away from my pets. With pets of my own, I know what it is like to find someone who you truly trust and feel comfortable with - I hope to be that person. I have a flexible hybrid telework schedule that allows me to be available for care-taking around your pets' schedule needs. I will have the utmost respect for your pet and instructions. As for house-sitting, my husband takes care of all our animals so that I can be fully present to stay with yours! I am open and honest and will be available for any more information you would like to know! Thanks for considering me to take care of your precious friends. My work schedule is flexible and I work from home most days. On the days I go into the office, I am not gone for extended hours. I have plenty of time and availability for morning, mid-day, and evening pet care during the week. On weekends, morning play time is always extended, as is snuggle time, and longer walks if the weather allows - but we always spend a ton of time in the backyard, unless our guest prefers naptime on the couch. I take pet care seriously, especially with other people's pets. I treat the animals with the same respect I treat my own, and how I would want someone else to take care of mine. I want the pets I care for to feel safe and happy, and barely miss their owners. That means I am very intentional about their physical as well their emotional needs. And, honestly, I get so much joy meeting new pets and hanging out with them that I want the pets to feel the same way about me. I will follow their normal schedule for feeding, walking, and anything else you ask as part of their routine. I am also very communicative while taking care of your pet(s)! I will check in with you everyday to provide at least a picture and any updates. I take a ton of photos, and love to share those! I am also always available for you to reach out anytime and respond quickly. When it comes to your home, you will not even know I was there, except your pets are happy and well-tended to :). For boarding requests, we have two very friendly small dogs and two dog-friendly cats, they all really do get along and we like to keep a calm and harmonious house! Our dogs will play if the our guest wants to, and our cats are very gracious hosts :). We only board one dog at a time. Please do not reach out if your dog is not (small) dog and cat friendly, thank you! (Our previous dog, RIP, is still listed here, she passed recently and I cannot bring myself to delete her profile yet...)
“Chelsea was WONDERFUL! My husband and I rarely leave our girls and when we do, we’re very cautious. Chelsea sent so many pictures and checked in with us consistently. Will definitely be rebooking!”

“She did a wonderful job making sure that our anxious dogs and their anxious moms were taken care of. We got a bunch of pictures, and updates throughout the stay! She was wonderful and understanding if we reached out frequently”

“Alexandra was wonderful with our pet Myla and not only did she take great care of our pet she took great care of our house too and even took care of cleaning the sheets and even taking care of some of our laundry. I highly recommend Alexandra!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Williams Crossroads
Hailey communicated so well, took great care of our home, and made us feel comfortable that Macey was in good hands. Macey even got into some treats she shouldn’t have (no fault of Hailey), and Hailey was super transparent making sure we knew everything that went down.

Lesley took great care of Egan and Prunella once again! Our dogs were so excited to see her even though it had been several months - a testament to how kind she must have been to then during their last time together. We are thankful that we can rely on Lesley to ensure our pups are happy and comfortable!

After meeting Kasey for the meet & greet we knew it would be a great fit. He’s personable and has a calm spirit about him that Jagger was drawn to. While staying with our dog for 10 days we received photos and updates daily. Kasey’s attention to Jagger made us feel at ease being away. We asked of a few small household requests while we were away and Kasey was happy to help. He followed our care directions for our dog perfectly and we returned to a tidy home just as we left it. We will surely ask Kasey to be with Jagger the next times we need a sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Williams Crossroads walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Williams Crossroads maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Williams Crossroads choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
