“Christine went above and beyond for our babies while we were away for 10 days. We were so nervous to leave them but she put us at ease from the moment she met them and us. Throughout our trip she sent daily updates with so many great photos. We could tell the dogs absolutely loved her and may have been having even more fun with her around! She was so attentive to every detail and even left the dogs treats with a sweet note welcoming us home. We will definitely be using Christine for pet care again in the future, our dogs will be so happy to see her again when the opportunity presents itself!”

“Anthony is a great pet and house sitter. He provided routine updates about our pup, took care of our plants, and is very respectful of our home. This is the second time he sat for us and we will definitely ask him again in the future.”

“Phinette is an AMAZING sitter! She went above and beyond taking care of our dog and house. She kept us updated throughout her stay and sent us lots of pictures of our pup! We will 100% be booking Phinette again!!”

“We loved Chelsea!!! She stayed at our home for four days and three nights. Our dogs are fairly picky in showing affection towards others, but not Chelsea. They loved her from the start. She was gracious enough to meet us prior to agreeing to watch our dogs so we would feel comfortable using Rover for the first time. We received about 10-15 pictures a day of her feeding and playing with our dogs. They seemed so much happier than having someone stop by. We are so grateful for her and will book with her again and again.”

“Brooke is really great with dogs! Boone seems to really like her. She sent us pictures of him throughout the day and was very responsive when we had a question. She’s flexible with your schedule and needs and does a lot to accommodate your pups needs. She slept with our pup each night.”

“Thanks to Meaghan, I was completely comfortable leaving my cat and my house in her care while away. She's a very calming presence and quickly made friends with my cat, as well as giving her medicine and watering my plants. She had a family emergency that meant leaving for the weekend but let me know promptly so I could make other arrangements while she was away. I will definitely hire her again.”

About: Hi, fellow pet lovers! 🐾 I’m a lifelong animal lover who truly believes pets are family. I grew up around dogs and have cared for them throughout my life. I had a Boston Terrier growing up, and today I’m the proud human of Orion, my 12-year-old Shiba Inu. Having a dog for so many years has taught me how important it is to pay attention to the little things, especially as pets get older. I’m caring, organized, and detail-oriented, and I’ll make sure your pet’s meals, walks, potty breaks, medications, and routines are followed exactly as requested. I also know every pet is different. Some love endless playtime, others prefer long walks or a cozy day of cuddles. My goal is to get to know your pet, respect their personality, and help them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. Whether your pup is playful, shy, adventurous, or a professional napper, I’ll treat them like family and give them plenty of love, attention, and companionship. 🐶 💛 I’m currently a graduate student and have a structured schedule, but I love making time for animals. I’m available for morning walks and check-ins anytime before 11:30 AM during the weekdays. I’m fully available Friday through Sunday, including evenings and nights! I’m also always happy to chat and see if I happen to be available outside of my regular hours. I’m flexible and happy to accommodate your pet’s routine whenever I can! 🐶💛 When house sitting, I want your pet to feel safe and comfortable in their own home while you’re away. I carefully follow their usual routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and bedtime, and I pay close attention to any special instructions you provide. I’m very organized and detail-oriented, so I make sure your home and your pet are well cared for. I’m respectful of your space, keep things clean and tidy, and make sure doors, gates, and other areas are secure. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and getting plenty of love! 🐾💛
“Ashlyn was great! She took wonderful care of our 2 dogs while we were gone. She kept me updated on how they were doing and I could tell that she genuinely enjoys being around animals. She will be our go to person for all our future needs! Thanks Ashlyn!!”

“Natallia was great with Duck! She was very communicative and made sure both Duck and I were comfortable when I had to leave! I will definitely work with Natallia in the future and highly recommend her!”

“Cassidy took wonderful care of my dog, Luna, while I was away for over seven days. She sent plenty of updates throughout the week to let me know how things were going. I could tell right away that Luna was very comfortable with Cassidy and that made my trip even more relaxing.”

“Vanessa!!! She is a gift straight forward heaven. I was sooo worried to never be able to enjoy going on vacations for fear of having to board my baby boy Kevin, and trust who knows who with my grandma Chelsea cat. Vanessa has taken all fears away and we have gained a person like family! She is truly the most caring and loving person. She treats my babies like her own!! She treats my home like her own! She is soooo thoughtful! My babies absolutely love when she comes over…especially Kevin!! I can’t imagine what I would do without her. I am sorry if you want to boom her because hopefully you get to before I do!! lol. We LOVE you, Vanessa and Lola!!”

“Second time using David and he was just as incredible as the first time! My A/C went out in a storm the day before David was set to house sit with my dogs for a few days so I reached out to give him a heads up and let me know if he would like to cancel. David assured me he would still be happy to watch my house and dogs, regardless of the fact it would be 90 some degrees with no A/C. He made us feel so at ease while we were out of town and kept us updated so well on how he and the dogs were handling the heat. He was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the whole stay. I received updates and the cutest pictures throughout the stay and it always looked like my dogs were very happy. So thankful for David and impressed as always. Can’t recommend him enough!”

“Kristina was amazing! Our animals fell in love with her and it seemed like they had their own vacation with how much fun they had. Kristina was overly communicative in the best way possible with media updates and texts. 1000% recommend if you see your animals as family who deserve endless love.”

“Jennifer did a great job with our older pets. She asked questions when needed and kept us updated on how they were doing (including photos!). House looked great when we got back. Would definitely use her again.”

About: I grew up working in my father's animal hospital. From the age of 7, I was cleaning cages, until I gradually began assisting him in office calls and surgeries by the time I was in high school. When the practice was sold, I was in charge of all the weekend borders. It was my responsibility to make sure they were fed, walked, and medicated if required. Growing up, we always had a family dog so I have some experience house training puppies, as well as teaching them basic commands such as 'sit', 'stay' 'shake'. I can also break them of the bad habits of jumping and that playful biting puppies do. Growing up around animals has allowed me to bond with them quickly. Plus it doesn't hurt to have a Vet on call if you have a question. As you see from the uploaded photo gallery, I not only take pictures of the pups having fun on the walk but I also send updates, when the dogs use the bathroom and if there is anything out of character; such as, if they have gone to the bathroom more than normal, or it was a loose stool. Currently, I have open availability during the week and on weekends for both walk and boarding. Therefore, I am free to come and take care of your pet whenever they need me. Currently, I am not doing in-home boarding. However, my fiance and I both are considering adding this service to our clients in the near future. My fiance is also a verified Rover walker and sitter, which makes the boarding experience not only as safe a possible but a spa-like retreat. We live in a neighborhood with countless parks and paths for walking and our house has a closed in the back yard. If your pup likes to sleep on their own doggie bed that is welcomed but if they want to curl up between us as well that is also fine!
“Matt took great care of my two large dogs! He came to meet them prior to taking the booking so that we were both comfortable. He stayed at our house for a week and we had zero issues! He gave daily updates with pics of our dogs, which was very reassuring, and asked questions to be sure of our preferences. Upon return, our house was just as we left it and the dogs were safe and happy. I have recommended Matt’s services to a friend and will absolutely book him in the future!”

About: I’ve had my own pets since I was old enough to walk! I have a cat and great dane, and have had many other small pets in the past. I walk my great dane every day and I am happy to take care of your little loved ones! I am a full time student and work/volunteer part time, so I try to be as flexible as I can with clients. I am happy to make space in my schedule to take care of your furry friends! I do not leave pets unattended. I am very observant and quick on my feet. Your pets safety is my #1 concern. My pets get loads of love and attention they need at home
About: I helped my cousin care for her senior dog and she relied on me to walk and brush him, and clean him up when he had an incident with seizures I am mostly flexible aside from working 5pm - 9pm during the week and 12pm - 7pm during the weekends. I am a part time employee at Hardee’s and looking for part time (or even full time) work caring for your pets! If I see a cat eaging something considered dangerous I will try to distract and/or remove the item. I try to keep all choking hazards off the floor and keep strings and other foreign bodies off the floor so that the animal couldn't form an impaction
“Daniel did a great job with our two boys. We have one who requires a lot of work because he is anxious, and the worst he did was eat a couple of paper napkins, which is a minor miracle. We really appreciated Daniel's dedication to them, and we would definitely hire him again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cokesbury walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cokesbury maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cokesbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
