“Lesley and her family took such amazing care of our dog, Banjo. Banjo was happy, relaxed, and clearly felt at home with them. She kept us updated, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. You can really tell that she and her family genuinely love animals and treat them like part of their own family. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

“They were just wonderful! I got updates and pictures daily. She had a great time and we were able to enjoy our trip fully knowing she was in trusted hands!”

“Taylor was an excellent boarder for my dog! She is professional, reliable, responsible, and kind. She paid incredible attention to all of my care instructions, took the time to ensure my dog’s comfort and ease, communicated well and promptly, and she kept me updated with photos and cute anecdotes. Taylor’s home is also well kept and very tidy. I would not hesitate to book with her again and I would recommend Taylor’s services without hesitation.”

“Karen and Vincent took excellent care of our two dogs, taking care of them as is they were their own. I have to say, I think our boys were a bit sad to leave! We will definitely use them again.”

“Sarah was great and would definitely recommend her to anyone! She kept me up to date on how our pup was with multiple pictures each day. And Smokey had a great time playing with Lainey! Will definitely be booking with Sarah again in the future.”

“Staci pet-sat for my fur-baby Maggie for 2 days and I am thinking she is missing her and her family. When my husband and I picked her up, Maggie gave me a little resistance on the leash, but eventually walked towards our car. I have always been hesitant about leaving Maggie with anyone outside of our family because she has separation anxiety and can be sad when we left her in the past with other pet sitting services. I am so grateful that Staci took such good care of Maggie and gave us updates that gave me a piece of mind while away. Thank you for keeping her and obviously loving on her so much. 💜 I can’t wait for the next time she gets to go to you. -D. Recinos”

“Sarai was great with keeping our pups safe and secure while we were gone! She provided updates and pictures while we were gone. Will definitely rebook next time we’re out of town!”

“Cay is a dog whisperer. He was very caring for my baby boy. Cay was very flexible. My baby boy didn’t even want to come home he had so much fun over there. Cay is awesome and he will take good care of your little one.”

“Kaitlyn was wonderful and I felt so comfortable leaving Roo with her. She has two adorable pups that he got to play with. She gave me updates and sent photos. Roo was a tired and happy boy when we picked him up.”

“Luis has been great with Winnie. She has had 3 accidents in our 2 trips with him and he was very patient and understanding with her and with us. Highly recommend! His Dog Elvis is also a team player and great with other dogs.”

“Ksenia did a great job caring for Caesar as always! She is such a kind person, and Caesar was happy and healthy after being in her care again. Thank you, Ksenia!”

“She did absolutely amazing. Being in the daycare as well, he had a wonderful experience with meeting other pups of all ages and sizes. He has extremely improved in the area of listening, they trained him very well. She treated Cocoa as her own, and gave him the perfect setup. I will most definitely be booking with Danielle if needed in the future. Thank you!!!!!”

“Teresa always takes wonderful care of our dog! She is great to communicate with and we always know our dog is in good hands so we can relax and enjoy traveling without her sometimes now. Teresa is the best!”

About: Since I was 10 years old, caring for pets and livestock has been a big part of my life. I work as a dog trainer part time and love it! It's given me the skills to handle puppies, seniors, and dogs with special needs comfortably. At home, I have three dogs, and it's a calm environment without children around. It's perfect for pups who need a more predictable routine and a quieter environment than a traditional boarding kennel, or who just prefer to have a bit more one on one attention! I have a large fenced yard for playing outdoors that the dogs all love! My full time job is home based, so I'm here with your dog instead of being gone from the house all day. If I'm away, it's usually for 2-4 hours at a time, which makes it easy to fit in exercise and attention throughout the day. Weekend events sometimes have me out of the house for slightly longer than 4 hours, I try to make sure those kind of events don't coincide with dog sitting of a more special needs dog, like a young puppy who might need frequent potty breaks. We want to get to know you and your dogs as best possible to make sure we can accommodate what they need! Just make sure to let us know of special needs (medications, medical issues, special potty needs) in advance so we can be most flexible. I have a fenced in yard for potty breaks and supervised play, and when I am not home all dogs are crated for safety purposes unless there is a special need in which case they can be separated and placed in another room.
“We are SO happy to have found Stephanie. Just an absolute dream to work with: So friendly, accommodating (our pup had an ear issue pop up before our trip and Stephanie had no problem giving her ear drops), and just overall amazing. You can feel completely comfortable working with Stephanie!! Thank you so much!”

“We loved Maria. Lucy had so much fun playing with Chewy and Maria took great care of my dog. I highly recommend her. I don't feel bad going on vacation knowing Lucy is having so much fun with her new friends. Thanks so much Maria!!”

“We were extremely happy with the care Julia gave our very timid pup. Julia was very willing to set up a puppy playpen for our little guy. She was very patient with him and eventually he came out of his safe space playpen. Julia sent pictures and text updates every day. By the end of his stay our pup seemed comfortable in her home and would go outside with her. Julia's patience with our timid pup was above and beyond. Her updates a picture helped to reduce our concerns of leaving our pup behind. We found him happy and healthy upon our return. We will definitely look to request Julia again.”

I couldn’t be happier with the amazing care Jennifer provided for my baby Kash! From the moment I dropped him off, I could tell he was in great hands. She treated him like he was her own kept him comfortable, engaged, and loved the entire time. Jennifer sent thoughtful updates, photos, and check‑ins that gave me total peace of mind. Kash came home relaxed, happy, and clearly bonded with her. It’s not easy to trust someone with your fur baby, but Jennifer made it effortless. I’m officially a regular!!😀Kash and I are grateful to have found her, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who truly goes above and beyond.

I cannot say enough great things about Casey! From the moment we connected on Rover, she was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of, and I could truly relax knowing my pet was in such loving and capable hands. Her communication was excellent—she kept me updated, sent photos, and made me feel completely at ease. You can tell she genuinely cares and takes pride in what she does. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and absolutely phenomenal, Casey is the one. I will definitely be booking with her again!

This is our favorite Rover. Aussie gets lots of exercise with the help of hunny. We loved the videos of our dog playing chase in the yard during the day and the pictures of our tired dog, cuddling on the couch at night. Thanks for the extra help treating the sores on Aussie’ back paws.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
