“Matt did a great job taking care of our baby Clara! Matt was very communicative and experienced. When Clara had an anxious first night, Matt reassured us, and helped Clara acclimate with other dogs and get settled in. He’s calm and sets a good energy with the pups he takes care of and ensures they are worn out and get plenty of playtime!”

“Jerry creates a great environment for my pups to interact and accommodates their very different energy levels. His own pups are also so well raised and get along well with my own pups. Jerry also updates me throughout the stay with pictures. I feel peace of mind knowing they will be well cared for when they’re with Jerry.”

“Julia was great. She sent lots of pictures and it seemed like my dogs truly enjoyed staying with them. She was flexible as our drop off and pick up times had to change, and she made sure to check in often. I will definitely use them again and recommend their service to others.”

“We are so happy that we found Pam. She is amazing with our two dogs, CC and Chewy. She sent us daily photos of them, and we can see they were really enjoying themselves. Her home was perfect for the dogs, they had their own dog door to go in and out of. A very nice sized and secure backyard in a nice neighborhood. Will be using Pam again in the future and the dogs will be so happy to see her again. :)”

“Working with Martine was so easy! She was very responsive to our initial boarding request and sent lots of updates when our pup stayed over. We appreciated her service very much and would absolutely book with her again.”

“This was my first Rover experience and I could not have been happier! Allison was great to work with and sent regular updates. Finn was well cared for and you could tell he felt at ease there...I don't think he was ready to come home!”

“I had an exceptional experience with Jill! She accepted my booking request at the last minute, showing incredible flexibility and understanding. Despite the short notice, she provided top-notch care for my dog Sasha, ensuring they were happy and well-cared for throughout. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a reliable and accommodating pet sitter!”

“Hannah took such good care of my dog Jack. The environment was welcoming and safe and she clearly understands how to put the dogs at ease. We got daily updates and pictures which my family appreciated. I’d recommend her anyone needing a sitter/boarding. Thank you!”

“Alsu took such great care of Wally again this week. He had lots of yard and playtime with Duke and I can tell from the pictures and when I pick him up that he is so happy! We have also been to Alsu’s several times and every time Wally comes back, he runs over and gives Alsu a big kiss! We will continue to go to her for our daycare needs!!”
“Joanne took wonderful care of Willow and updated me daily with how she was doing, how much she was eating, and photos of her exploring the yard and house. She was flexible on arrival/pickup time and was kind enough to give me a tour of her house and yard since it was our first stay with her. She’s a great communicator and I felt wonderful about leaving my pup with her. I definitely recommend her and will be leaving my dog with her on future stays!”

“Hilary took great care of my dog! She was very communicative and flexible when I need some scheduling changes as well. Will definitely be using her as a sitter again!”

“We contacted Alex at the last minute to board our dog, Finn. She is amazing!! Her response time was fast, we were able to schedule a meet and greet that same day and she took excellent care of Finn during his stay. She has 2 well behaved dogs that loved up on Finn. He did so well with Alex and we were at ease for our very special trip. She is organized and handles many dogs at a time with confidence and skill. She is good at communicating so we knew how Finn was doing. I highly recommend Alex! We will use her in the future for sure!”

I cannot recommend Jackie enough! She took amazing care of my two dogs and treated them like members of her own family. From the moment I dropped them off, I knew they were in loving and caring hands. Throughout my vacation, Jackie kept me updated with photos, videos, and messages about everything they were doing, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that my dogs were happy, comfortable, and receiving plenty of love and attention. Being away from my babies is never easy, but thanks to Jackie, I was able to truly relax and enjoy my vacation knowing they were safe and well cared for. If you’re looking for someone who will love and care for your pets as if they were her own, Jackie is absolutely the person to choose! Gracias Jackie ♥️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
