“Our dog Mila loved her stay with Jill & family! She was well taken care of, had lots of fun with Jill's dog Carolina, and we received photos & updates throughout her stay. We were able to enjoy our time away because we knew our baby was in good hands.”

“Elaine and her family were wonderful. They treated my dogs like their own. Elaine handled my rambunctious 1 year old dog, Annika like a professional dog trainer and Goose, my 4 year old, enjoyed home school with her daughters. Petunia, Elaine's family dog is very sweet and gets along very well with other dogs. I will definitely look to Elaine in the future for any pet boarding needs.”

“Buddy, my Westie, was well taken care of while we were gone for 10 days. He seemed as comfortable with Mary as we were when we had the Meet and Greet. Although we missed him we were not worried about his care. Would definitely use Mary again!”

“Paige was fantastic! She sent updates and pics everyday and our dog looked so happy every time. We were able to enjoy our vacation without having to worry at all. We will be rebooking her for all of our future trips!”

“This was the first time Mia, our 14 year old pet, has ever spent the night away from family. I am thankful Mia was happy with her sitter, Michelle. Michelle sent us pictures and we were appreciative of how well Mia under the care of Michelle.”

“So happy I found Matt! He was the first person to watch my dog other than family, and I couldn’t have been happier with his care and communication. My old boy had a fantastic time and he’ll definitely be back!”

About: I’ve always been a lover of animals. I have my own 2 cats and doggo and they’re my whole world. Before that I had family dogs and cats ever since I was young and they were my favorite thing to see when I came home after a long day. I love to workout with people themselves and animals! It benefits everyone to get up and move throughout the day. Plus dogs should get to experience the world around them too! I’m a stay at home mom, I am expecting our first baby in December. So once the baby is here, I may take a break for a little bit, but I’ll be back! I’m available to walk during typical business hours while my husband is working. I have a two story spacious home with a large fenced in backyard! Our bedroom is on the first floor so even if the dogs are older, they wouldn’t need to go up any stairs. I have a loving dog that will play and run around with them and 2 cats! One is super friendly and will play with them. The other is a little more timid and will most likely just hide.
“My 2 dogs stayed with Gail for a few days while we were on vacation and they LOVED it there. Lots of attention and yard time. Gail treats all her guests with respect and love. I felt completely comfortable with her the entire time. Great timely updates throughout their stay.”

“Monica watched our two dogs for 12 days. Their stay was suppposed to be 11 days, but our flight home was delayed and we needed them to stay another night. Monica graciously watched them for one more day. We received texts and pictures of how they were doing. Based on our communication with her, we really felt she knew our dogs and wanted to make sure they were happy. We will, without a doubt, reach out to her first when we need a sitter!!!!!”

“Danielle is amazing! She took care of our dog as if he was her own and kept me updated with videos and pictures every day. I have nothing but a heart full of gratitude for her. I am Lucky to have found her. Thank you for everything Danielle! ♥️”

“Hannah and Patrick took great care of my lab Junior. He is very high energy and they have a great back yard to accommodate his level of activity. A plus is they had other dogs coming for doggie daycare and Junior is very social. We will be using Hannah and Patrick on a regular basis for doggie daycare and whenever we are out of town for boarding! I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to rest assured their fur babies are in good hands!”

“Second time having Rose stay with Brian and just as amazing care taken of her as the first time! She has fun playing with his other fur babies and is very loved when she visits!”

“Carlita was amazing!! She took such great care of Cannoli, sent photo updates and was very thorough with the drop off and all communication. Cannoli didn’t want to leave when we picked her up :) We can’t wait to use Carlita again!”

“Wrigley didn’t want to leave! He had SO MUCH fun running in their huge fenced in backyard! Elizabeth’s dogs are so well behaved and socialized I feel like it helped Wrigley learn to socialize a little better too. They were so good with sending updates . It is such a relief to know we can travel and Wrigley will be well-loved and cared for! We will definitely use Elizabeth again, thank you!”

“Suzanne and her family are ideal Rover sitters--so welcoming, caring, and communicative. We received frequent updates and pictures of our dog while we were away, and were thankful to have found such a kind and responsible family to care for Roux while we traveled. We plan to book with Suzanne again!”

“Shekenia Has taken good care of Luna. Luna seemed so happy while she was with her. Shekenia Kept me up to date with her and I didn’t have to worry. Diffidently will use her again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
