About: My husband and I have had at least one dog our whole lives. After college, many years ago, I started working in a regular veterinary clinic and an emergency veterinary clinic for approximately five years until starting in my current career field. I have experience in administering medication and caring for dogs with mobility issues both from my previous employment and taking care of my own dogs throughout their lives. My husband is retired and is frequently home throughout the day. We have a 13 year old son who is active and loves dogs also. Our dog, Scout, is an Australian Shepherd mix. We adopted her in 2019. She always enjoys having a friend to pal around with in our backyard or watching the world go by from her window seat in our house. I currently work full time and typically get home around 4:30pm. My husband is retired and is at home for most of the day. My son is also excited to start helping to care for the dogs that we invite into our home. I have a large fenced in yard and our dog gets along easily with other dogs. I do have a medium sized crate at our house if a crate is needed. Our dog does not get crated.
“Bryan gladly accepted my request to look after my pup last minute, day of. He did a great job of sending me daily updates and pictures to ensure my pup was well taken care of. I highly recommend Bryan if you need someone to look after your pup. Thanks again!”

“This was our first time leaving our dog with a sitter. The kids and I were apprehensive, but after meeting Mitzi, seeing her home, the kids and the other doggies,,,we felt at ease. Mitzi kept communicating with us about our beloved Ro’ & she sent us pics and vids of Ro’s adventures at her home. So glad that Ro had a great experience at Mitzi’s home😊.”

“Martine was a great sitter for my dog. She sent lots of photos and updates while he was with her and I appreciated the communication. I will book with her and her husband again!”

“Lucy loved her stay with Amanda and Kevin! Because they have dogs of their own I felt comfortable leaving Lucy to be cared for and knew she’d be entertained (versus having someone come in our home and take her out every few hours). We had a great experience and Lucy would love to come back soon ??”

“My heartfelt thanks to Nikki for taking care of our 2 year old dog Zola during our month long overseas vacation. She took care of Zola like her own and pampered her so much that, Zola wants to go back to Nikki's house. This was our first time leaving Zola for such long duration and we were worried. However, Nikki kept us regularly updated with messages, photos and videos of Zola which helped us to complete our vacation with peace of mind. We are ever thankful to Nikki.”

“Elizabeth took the best care of our dog, Millie! We got frequent updates through her stay and could tell that she was getting a lot of love, attention and having the best time while we were gone. We felt very comfortable with Millie under Elizabeth’s watch! 1000/10 rating!”

About: I’m a dependable and caring dog lover with several years of experience looking after dogs for family and friends. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs with a variety of personalities, ages, and routines, and I always make it a priority to ensure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while their owners are away. In the past year, I’ve also had the opportunity to host dogs from a local kennel for weekend stays, which has been a rewarding experience and has helped me gain even more hands-on experience caring for dogs in my home. I enjoy providing plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and companionship, while maintaining each dog’s usual routine as closely as possible. Whether your dog loves long walks, play sessions, or simply relaxing in a comfortable environment, I’m committed to giving them the care and attention they deserve. My goal is to make every stay a positive experience for both pets and their owners, so you can have peace of mind knowing your dog is in good hands Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work a full-time, low-stress hybrid job and live just 10 minutes from my workplace, allowing me to spend plenty of time with the dogs in my care. On work-from-home days, I'm available throughout the day for companionship, potty breaks, and playtime. Even on office days, my short commute allows me to return home quickly and maintain a consistent schedule for feeding, exercise, and attention. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a clean, two-bedroom townhouse that provides a calm and welcoming environment for visiting dogs. While I don't have a large backyard, I make sure dogs get plenty of exercise and enrichment through regular walks around my neighborhood and nearby communities, as well as visits to local parks. I always follow each pet's routine and owner's instructions to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at home during their stay.
“Jerry is the best! We left our sweet baby for a week - I was worried sick as it was the longest we’ve ever been without him. But Jerry gave me a piece of mind knowing my bubs was in good hands. He took such great care of him and got along great with his doggos. We will 1000% be using Jerry again in the future and you should too!”

“Laura and her family were wonderful and treated my dogs like her own. The dogs came home very tired because they had so much fun. Laura sent alot of pictures and kept us updated on the dogs. I am so glad we found her. Our dogs will definitely be going back to Laura’s house. I will tell anyone that asks about dog sitting about Laura.”

“We were very pleased w the entire experience. We, with our two dogs, met Evan in advance to make sure everyone was comfortable and at that point I knew we were in good hands. Our babies had so much fun running around on a farm Happily recommend Evan.”

“Kelly and Jacob were great. They took care of my hyper 3month old Lab puppy for the weekend. My dog seemed to feel safe with them as he was cuddling up with the kids on the couch. Kelly was great about sending pictures of my puppy during his stay and made me not have to worry about if he was okay.”

“I just picked Delilah up last night from an almost 10 day stay with Julie. This is only Delilah's second time ever staying with a stranger, and she came home in a great mood and seems to enjoy her stay with Julie which was a relief to my husband and I. While Delilah is an easy dog, she is a retired service dog and isn't used to staying with other people so the fact that she enjoyed her stay and came home happy meant the world to us. We would for sure use Julie again in a heartbeat. Thanks for taking such good care of Delilah!”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things! My dogs had a blast and came back exhausted. She keeps you updated and treats them like family. Will absolutely use her in all our future needs.”
“I cannot recommend Ashley and her girls highly enough- best dog sitters ever!! Arriving for drop off we were greeted with a custom welcome sign which was the sweetest thing ever. They took the such good care of our noodle we were worried he wouldn’t want to come home with us! Ashley and her girls made sure he felt right at home and I have no doubt he was sooo loved on. . They made sure he got ample play time and walks. They provided us with regular updates and photos. It was such a relief to know our pup was with a family that loved and cared for him like Ashley and her girls do! He will definitely be back!!”

“Denise and Oscar were great with our two dogs! She was communicative and sent great pictures while we were away. My doggies came home tired and happy, and I know they enjoyed their own little vacation! I would definitely book with her again.”

“Rocky enjoyed his stay with Ma. He was well cared for and Ma provided regular updates and pictures of him. We are very pleased and will be using her in the future.”

“Gretchen is Wonderful! I was not sure what I was going to do because the usual sitter was not available. From the meet and greet and forward, Gretchen made me comfortable as I watched her with her dogs and mine. My pup is tiny so I am always cautious when he is with larger dogs which hers were under 40 lbs but my pup is only 9 lbs and he is a senior dog. Gretchen communicated well and provided excellent service! Her family was good with my pup. I can’t express how grateful I am to have found Gretchen! She is Outstanding!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Youngsville
Leaving our Ollie with Kerri for the 7 days we were out of town was the BEST decision we could have possibly made. She is super easy to communicate with. She has studied animal behaviors so I knew that no matter how many dogs she had (it was the 4th of July week-busy!) she would make the right decisions with how to handle our girl. She would send pictures and videos so we could see our girl. Kerri is very professional yet extremely easy to talk to and oh so friendly. Just use her-she’s the best. We didn’t know if Ollie would want to come back home to us bc she had so much fun at Kerri’s! Ha!

Kimberly, Dustin and their son are amazing! They took such great care of our Aussie and I couldn’t recommend them enough. They sent lots of photos, walked, played and snuggled with our dog as if she was their own. They have a Aussie named scout who got along with Lily great and helped get her energy out. They were super accommodating for our early departure and late arrival which we truly appreciated. Again can’t recommend this family enough for watching your dog we will be rebooking them in the near future!

Jeremy and his family, boarded our dog, REX, at their house for 2 days. Rex was relaxed and happy when we got home. Jeremy is a very caring person and keeps an excellent communication. He sent pictures and updates. We will definitely book with him again. Thank you so much! 😊 🐶

Melissa was wonderful with our two dogs! Right from the start, she was incredibly confident in her ability to handle both of them, which immediately put our minds at ease. We loved that she is so experienced with animals and genuinely cares about their well being. It was incredibly refreshing that she was serious about our dogs being up to date on their vaccinations; it proved to us that she isn't just looking for a quick buck, but truly prioritizes the health and safety of the pets in her care. We would definitely book again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
