“Summer took great care of our dogs. We received regular updates and were happy to know they got along well with Summers dogs. Toby is usually anxious when we leave him but he was very well adjusted which goes to show how loved they were. Highly recommend!”

“Everything about boarding with Evan was stellar. Great responsiveness, listened to all my instructions, inviting at dropoff. The farm is perfect for dogs! tons of fenced in room to roam. Lumi came home super zen and well exercised. Would recommend!”

“We couldn't be happier with the care Hilary and Lucas provided for our dog, Sparta! He had an absolute blast during his stay and even made some new furry friends. We highly recommend their service to anyone seeking trustworthy and loving care for their pup.”

“Mitzi watched over our sweet Pickles on me and my husbands wedding weekend. She kept me regularly updated with cute photos that eased any anxiety for me! “I cannot recommend Ashley and her girls highly enough- best dog sitters ever!! Arriving for drop off we were greeted with a custom welcome sign which was the sweetest thing ever. They took the such good care of our noodle we were worried he wouldn’t want to come home with us! Ashley and her girls made sure he felt right at home and I have no doubt he was sooo loved on. . They made sure he got ample play time and walks. They provided us with regular updates and photos. It was such a relief to know our pup was with a family that loved and cared for him like Ashley and her girls do! He will definitely be back!!”

About: My husband and I have had at least one dog our whole lives. After college, many years ago, I started working in a regular veterinary clinic and an emergency veterinary clinic for approximately five years until starting in my current career field. I have experience in administering medication and caring for dogs with mobility issues both from my previous employment and taking care of my own dogs throughout their lives. My husband is retired and is frequently home throughout the day. We have a 13 year old son who is active and loves dogs also. Our dog, Scout, is an Australian Shepherd mix. We adopted her in 2019. She always enjoys having a friend to pal around with in our backyard or watching the world go by from her window seat in our house. I currently work full time and typically get home around 4:30pm. My husband is retired and is at home for most of the day. My son is also excited to start helping to care for the dogs that we invite into our home. I have a large fenced in yard and our dog gets along easily with other dogs. I do have a medium sized crate at our house if a crate is needed. Our dog does not get crated.
“I hope I can board my dog there again and again. Julie was friendly, on top of everything, and my dog looked sooo happy in every one of the numerous photos Julie sent me. She gave me a daily update and answered everyone of my questions instantaneously. I had flight issues on my vacation return and she was so flexible and kind about it all. Overall rating TEN out of five!”

“Marilyn, her kids, and her whole family were amazing with Forest. He can have some separation anxiety and isn’t always great about eating when we are out of town but had an absolute blast, ate all of his meals, and left with many new friends. We couldn’t thank her enough for accommodating our boy!”

“Jerry is amazing with Jack . I always know that Jack is treated like part of the family and well cared for . Jerry kept me updated with pictures and messages . My pup Jack was happy, relaxed, and had fun on his stay . Thank you Jerry!”

“Camila and Lino are really great! They’re very responsive and kind. It was so reassuring knowing that my girl was safe and with good people. They really care. I can’t recommend them enough!”

“Lucy was well cared for and clearly received lots of attention while I was away. Communication was excellent, and I really appreciated the regular updates and photos. It gave me peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. I would happily book with this sitter again and highly recommend them.”

“Halle and Thomas were great with my border collie mix! I got daily photos of him on walks and at the dog park. Jasper seemed very comfortable with them. I would definitely use their services again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
