“Our weekend away was very relaxing knowing our golden doodle was having a great adventure at Monica’s house. Monica was an awesome pet sitter. She had a large fenced in yard and 2 other dogs for my dog to play with. Monica is very compassionate about caring for her dogs. Thank you Monica, Piper is already looking forward to her next weekend away.”

“10/10 would recommend! They are the sweetest bunch and took great care of my cat. All of their furry friends seemed to get along well with her! They sent me photos and updates everyday which were greatly appreciated. And last but not least, they were extremely flexible and kind with letting her stay for another night when I couldn’t make our agreed pickup time.”

“Luis was wonderful. He communicated every step of the way. He was kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. I made a mistake and he was more than gracious about it. This was my first experience with Rover and I was extremely nervous. However, I will definitely be looking to work with him again.”

“Our dogs seemed happy and well cared for staying with them and we got pics of their adventures. Drop off and pick communication was easy. We would definitely book with them again.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life. From puppies to senior dogs. Ive turned aggressive dogs calm. Understanding your dog and its triggers are key. I will treat your pet like it’s my own. Lots of love and playful stimulation. I’m not just watching your dog, I’m creating a bond. Creating a safe space for your pup to be able to relax and have fun. Building trust with you is step 1. I’m currently working full time but I can move my schedule around as needed. At the moment weekends are best to watch your fur babies. I have an open yard. Not big but big enough to play. I use e collars to help direct playtime and to have control over them as needed. Dogs roam freely in the house when I am home. They go in crate if I am not. Multiple post breaks and plenty of playtime and healthy stimulation
“Andrew was the best and Took care of my husky, and provided pictures and was very patient and also provided tons of exercise for my dog. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a dog sitter or boarder in the future.”
“Ahlana, did a fantastic job looking over my fur baby Spadey. He came back like his normal self where in the past with other sitters he came back anxious and bewildered. I wish I could have received more photos or videos during the stay, but that’s minor in comparison to my baby coming back happy.”

“Lorraine was great! She kept my four month old puppy for the weekend and he had a blast. I was nervous leaning him because he is 100% puppy (still being potty trained, chewing, barking, etc) but she assured me he was fine. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Paige did an excellent job with our Dolce. Each day, we received updates with pictures/videos alongside a summary of the day. Paige was also very good with communicating with us in a timely manner. Overall, a great experience! Thanks Paige!”

“Jerry creates a great environment for my pups to interact and accommodates their very different energy levels. His own pups are also so well raised and get along well with my own pups. Jerry also updates me throughout the stay with pictures. I feel peace of mind knowing they will be well cared for when they’re with Jerry.”

“Sonia was the first sitter we have used that was so interested in crystals personality and habits . We felt very confident leaving our dog in he care, and were not disappointed”

“Jill was a phenomenal rover for us on a recent trip. She (and her whole family, honestly) took amazing care to make sure our Shepherd Mix, Foxy, was comfortable and loved. They did a wonderful job and sent great updates during the stay. They went out of their way to ensure we were a good fit, and we will absolutely book with them again!”

“First let me say my review is long overdue. I could not leave a review earlier due to an unexpected medical emergency. However, let me say Hillary & Lucas are GREAT!!! I felt my dog Angel was loved on and cared for. I received messages and pictures. Hillary went above and beyond she even figured out my dog's excessive licking which turned out to be a food allergy. I really appreciate everything they did for my dog. I would not hesitate to leave him with them again.”

“Wrigley didn’t want to leave! He had SO MUCH fun running in their huge fenced in backyard! Elizabeth’s dogs are so well behaved and socialized I feel like it helped Wrigley learn to socialize a little better too. They were so good with sending updates . It is such a relief to know we can travel and Wrigley will be well-loved and cared for! We will definitely use Elizabeth again, thank you!”

“Stacey did an awesome job watching our pup! I know our dog was at ease & comfortable with her which was super important to us. She would communicate with us throughout the day & send us many updates which we loved. Our dog can be a handful meeting other dogs and isn’t the best on the leash but Stacey did great with her! She gave her lots of loves and cuddles too which was so appreciated while we were away. We will absolutely be using her again in the future!!”

“Gretchen was fantastic with Luci! She welcomed her into her home and took great care of her. Luci was comfortable and well cared for the entire time. Highly recommend!”

About: I am a reliable, loving dog and cat owner dedicated to providing a relaxed, safe environment for my animals. I have two 4-yr old Doberman mixes I adopted from Saipan, a sister and brother: Ruby and Charlie. I also have a 2-yr old rescue cat, Ollie. My dear Bichon, Hubie, passed last year, but I took care of him for 6 of his golden years! Therefore, I’m capable of taking care of dogs from under 1 yr to senior age. I’m also comfortable feeding them and providing medication if needed. Finally, I have the closest emergency vets mapped on my phone if the unfortunate need should arise. I have a job that requires I work on-site two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, I am free MWF, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. Provided I am given a week’s notice, I can offer overnight boarding from Friday to Monday evening. I understand most dogs don’t do well with being alone during the day. And it is stressful trying to find someone kind and responsible to be there for your pup. When I became a brand new pet owner in 2019, I remember how nervous I was looking for a trusted sitter to care for my Bichon, Hubie, while I was at work. I thankfully found a great one and I’d like to provide that same assurance to others. I can provide companionship with love and belly rubs, play via a fenced-in backyard, and fellow doggy playmates. Of course, I’d need to ensure your critter gets along with my brood before taking them on. :) I walk my dogs at least twice a day so they get plenty of exercise. If you have a small senior dog who needs fresh air, I’m fine to carry them in a backpack or push them in a stroller. :) And if they’re comfortable in the car, I can walk them at the park!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
