“Sharon and her dog Rodeo were so welcoming and good with our pups. Our dogs are a lot of work - they're young and have a LOT of energy! Sharon kept us informed with how they were settling in and updated us with pictures and videos along the way, which we loved! Her house is the perfect size for her to keep an eye on the dogs she's watching and she has a great backyard space for them to run around and get their energy out. She was also very accommodating when our plans were a little up in the air for pickup time and we ended up getting back to town later than expected. We would not hesitate to leave our dogs with her again and recommend her to others.”

“Andrew was great! My dog took an instant liking to him. He communicated with me throughout the weekend and sent me pictures, which I appreciated so much. I will definitely use him again!!”

“Meredith was so easy to work with! Highly recommend! Our dogs had their extra special holiday separation anxiety and Meredith was so sweet and caring to them. She really took time to ensure they were settling in as well as possible and kept in contact with us about their behavior.”

“Hilary & Lucas were absolutely wonderful! Cherry had a great time with them and came home happy and well cared for. They were kind, attentive, and kept us updated throughout the stay. We truly appreciate their excellent care and would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you!”

“I got multiple updates each day with photos. My dog had a wonderful time! Vanessa is extremely professional, loving, and obviously cares a lot about what she does. I could not have been happier with my experience and will definitely be booking with her again in the future.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life. From puppies to senior dogs. Ive turned aggressive dogs calm. Understanding your dog and its triggers are key. I will treat your pet like it’s my own. Lots of love and playful stimulation. I’m not just watching your dog, I’m creating a bond. Creating a safe space for your pup to be able to relax and have fun. Building trust with you is step 1. I’m currently working full time but I can move my schedule around as needed. At the moment weekends are best to watch your fur babies. I have an open yard. Not big but big enough to play. I use e collars to help direct playtime and to have control over them as needed. Dogs roam freely in the house when I am home. They go in crate if I am not. Multiple post breaks and plenty of playtime and healthy stimulation
“THE most WONDERFUL team of pet sitters EVER!!! The care, attention to detail, follow up, professionalism, the pictures , videos and the love the family has shown, their job and with their furry clients are just a few shining examples of her superior work ethic. My dog actions expressed he was very happy there.”

“This was my first time using Rover and having my pet stay with Jeremy & his wife, and we will most certainly be return customers! I received daily updates and photos of my dog who always appeared happy and loved! When it was time for pickup, my belongs were tidy and ready to go, with our dog bed having been freshly washed! What a great experience and what a great couple who obviously love dogs and have really figured out how to be gracious, clean, and loving dog watchers!”

“Randi is amazing! She was flexible with my schedule, kind, and sent the cutest pictures / updates which I really appreciated. I’m new to the area and very happy to have found a reliable pet sitter that my dog loves.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
