“Matt and his family really took care of my German Shepherd Dog, Skye. He knows the characteristics and nature of GSD and he dealt with bigger dogs before so we put trust in him. We made a right choice!! He updated every day about the summary of the day with pictures. He and his family included my dog as their family and I could tell that she was in good hands!! They made my dog feel comfortable and made her feel at home. We will most definitely choose him as our dog sitter. I think Skye will like that too!!!”

“Sonya was wonderful. Friendly and accommodating to our late night drop off a pick-up. She shared at least a photo a day keeping us in the loop that our boy was doing fine.”

“Meredith was so easy to work with! Highly recommend! Our dogs had their extra special holiday separation anxiety and Meredith was so sweet and caring to them. She really took time to ensure they were settling in as well as possible and kept in contact with us about their behavior.”

“Jill was a phenomenal rover for us on a recent trip. She (and her whole family, honestly) took amazing care to make sure our Shepherd Mix, Foxy, was comfortable and loved. They did a wonderful job and sent great updates during the stay. They went out of their way to ensure we were a good fit, and we will absolutely book with them again!”

“Danielle and her husband took great care of Yukon sending us videos and pictures while we were away. They were attentive to our directions with feeding and meds and Yukon came home a happy and tired pup.”

“Sharon and her dog Rodeo were so welcoming and good with our pups. Our dogs are a lot of work - they're young and have a LOT of energy! Sharon kept us informed with how they were settling in and updated us with pictures and videos along the way, which we loved! Her house is the perfect size for her to keep an eye on the dogs she's watching and she has a great backyard space for them to run around and get their energy out. She was also very accommodating when our plans were a little up in the air for pickup time and we ended up getting back to town later than expected. We would not hesitate to leave our dogs with her again and recommend her to others.”

“Mowgli really enjoyed his stay! They both took care of Mowgli like their own! I’m even more excited to go on vacation knowing he will be well taken care of. Isabel always kept me informed with wonderful pictures and messages of the day. Thank you so much!”

“Martine and Ronald took great care of my dog and sent plenty of updates! My dog was very excited to see them again after we did a meet n greet and i know he was well taken care of. It put me at ease knowing he was in great hands.”

“Bo is a 16-year-old dog who has anxiety and doesn’t really like change so I was very nervous to leave him for five days. Carlita was so patient with Bo. She also helped ease my worry by sending daily updates with pictures/video! The first and last time we boarded Bo at a facility he looked depressed in the cameras; with Carlita he looked happy and was smiling!! I will certainly be reaching out to Carlita in the future! Thank you Carlita for taking such wonderful care of our Bo!!”

“Sally is loving, dependable, responsible and relaxed. My dog was excited and happy to return to Sally's house for a second visit-- no better recommendation than that ! Also, Sally's two dogs are very sweet and funny, just like their mom !”
“Buddy, my Westie, was well taken care of while we were gone for 10 days. He seemed as comfortable with Mary as we were when we had the Meet and Greet. Although we missed him we were not worried about his care. Would definitely use Mary again!”

“She was fast , fun, and friendly . Took care of my lil Freedom with ease. She sent pictures and updated me throughout the day.! I will be returning back with her. She has another dog and makes sure yours is included with anything she does.”

“Elizabeth and Richard were so great with Jett. It was our first time leaving her and they made her feel comfortable and safe. Jett came home a happy tired girl. Thank you.”

“I felt so comfortable leaving my fur baby, Milo, with Kourtney and her adorable family + fur babies of her own. I loved the daily updates and knew that he was in loving care! 🐾”

“Hannah and Patrick are truly amazing. Our girl is in love with them and their beautiful dog, Bailey. She had the best time. Hannah sent pictures throughout the stay which relieved some of the stress I had leaving my sweet girl. We will for sure use them again. Highly recommended!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Zebulon
Ahlana, did a fantastic job looking over my fur baby Spadey. He came back like his normal self where in the past with other sitters he came back anxious and bewildered. I wish I could have received more photos or videos during the stay, but that’s minor in comparison to my baby coming back happy.

This was my first experience using Rover service. Milika took care of my dogs with exceptional care. She’s patient, flexible, professional, and overall a genuine person. She sent multiple pics and videos of my dogs during their stay. She has a very quick response time. My dogs love her and her family and for a newbie to this service like myself I will use Milika again in a heartbeat!

Judy was fabulous. She has a fenced in back yard for the dogs to hang out and play. She is attentive and gave my 1 yr old pup lots of love. She sent me updates and pictures and I could tell he was having lots of fun and felt very comfortable in her home. I highly recommend her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
