“Yet another GREAT stay with Vanessa! I feel so comfortable leaving my dog in Vanessa and her family's care. I have never felt so free leaving my dog before. He is 10 years old, and arthritic, but he seems so happy in Vanessa's care. I am forever grateful!!”

“Johnny had such a great time with Jill. He felt right at home at her house. I would let her sit Johnny anytime and I highly recommend . She is great with animals.”
“Tokena and her babies was amazing. Beans felt right at home. They made him feel comfortable and at home. Tokena kept me updated and sent pictures regularly calming my nerves. LOL He will be back.”

“Monica was amazing! Very kind and flexible. I made mistakes and on top of that we ran into traffic on way back that wasn’t expected. Never once did we feel like she wouldn’t understand or made to feel bad. We could tell from our our pup was all day today that he was very active with Monica. We will definitely use her again next time we need to find somewhere safe where he will receive the love he is use to receiving from our family.”

“Paige was fantastic! She sent updates and pics everyday and our dog looked so happy every time. We were able to enjoy our vacation without having to worry at all. We will be rebooking her for all of our future trips!”

“Martine did such a great job with my boy. She is very responsive and gave me pictures and updates on how he was doing which definitely helps to put your mind at ease when leaving your dog somewhere new. Thank you!”

“Matt and his family cared for our two pups as if they were their own. Matt sent pics during their stay, he communicated well before and met us at our convenience for a meet and greet. Exceeded expectations!”

“Bo is a 16-year-old dog who has anxiety and doesn’t really like change so I was very nervous to leave him for five days. Carlita was so patient with Bo. She also helped ease my worry by sending daily updates with pictures/video! The first and last time we boarded Bo at a facility he looked depressed in the cameras; with Carlita he looked happy and was smiling!! I will certainly be reaching out to Carlita in the future! Thank you Carlita for taking such wonderful care of our Bo!!”

“Elaine was very easy to work with and constantly kept me updated with pictures and how they were doing. Zoe got out of the fence on Sunday and she was up front and honest with me about it and did everything to make sure my baby was back safe! I would 100% recommend her to anyone needing someone to care for their families most prized fur babies!”

“Hilary took great care of my dog! She was very communicative and flexible when I need some scheduling changes as well. Will definitely be using her as a sitter again!”

“Gretchen is Wonderful! I was not sure what I was going to do because the usual sitter was not available. From the meet and greet and forward, Gretchen made me comfortable as I watched her with her dogs and mine. My pup is tiny so I am always cautious when he is with larger dogs which hers were under 40 lbs but my pup is only 9 lbs and he is a senior dog. Gretchen communicated well and provided excellent service! Her family was good with my pup. I can’t express how grateful I am to have found Gretchen! She is Outstanding!”

“Ashley was great - she was so accommodating with a last minute request and kept up with daily updates throughout the stay. Would definitely have Boden stay there again!”

“This is our third time having Sally watch our Dash. She goes above and beyond in providing exceptional care. Not only does she keep us informed about our dog's well-being, but she also sends us daily pictures that put our minds at ease. It's evident that she genuinely cares for our dog! We couldn't ask for a better sitter than Sally!”

“Copper had a great stay with Hannah! We got daily texts and photos and he seemed very comfortable and relaxed in her home. As pet owners we want to know that our babies are well taken care of and Copper seemed very happy and content, which gave me peace of mind when I had to go out of town at the last minute. Thank you so much Hannah!”

“Jeremy and family were absolutely amazing. We had to book short notice and the process and communication was excellent. He cared for our little guy just as we would! We will definitely be rebooking.”

What can I say? Crosby found his home away from home. Crosby was given love and attention and welcomed into their home seamlessly. Mitzi’s communication is clear and open. She had a well organized setup for Crosby. I especially liked that she had small, well cared for dogs of her own, in a clean home. She has a lovely secure outdoor grass area for the dogs to play in and do their business. I received plenty of pictures. Crosby usually goes to a pet resort, but no more. I look forward to taking him back to Mitzi’s, knowing I won’t need to worry about his well being while I am away. Thank you Mitzi and Family, you are the best.

Great sitters! They were very accommodating when we had another sitter cancel on us last minute. They allowed us to meet beforehand to make sure our girl was comfortable with them. They sent photo updates every so often and our pupper looked happy, healthy and spoiled. Would definitely book again 🐶

Jett found his new best friends in this home! We did a meet and greet and they are so warm and welcoming. Their dog Autumn is super friendly also. I had no nervousness about them or their home or pet. Jett felt the same, it was instant comfort. Great communication for a first time stay :) Judy also let me know general details about dogs coming for day care while Jett would be there just for my awareness. Everything went well and they were so kind and flexible when my return flights got delayed!

Ahlana, did a fantastic job looking over my fur baby Spadey. He came back like his normal self where in the past with other sitters he came back anxious and bewildered. I wish I could have received more photos or videos during the stay, but that’s minor in comparison to my baby coming back happy.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
