“We used Rover a few times for our outdoor cat. We always request Akira. She is pleasant and friendly and professional. She absolutely loves animals. My cat can be shy always running and keeping safe distance. Starting first time meeting my pet. Akira began winning Koda over. First Koda was curious. I was so shocked...after last visit, my cat doesnt leave at all. my Akira always looking to make sure pet is fine. Sends pictures on every visit. Alway promot. I really appreciate the service Akira provides.”

“Bayleigh went above and BEYOND with my pets. I am so grateful for her and all that she did while I away on my trip. There were a few accidents (due to my GSD’s sensitive tummy and no fault to Bayleigh) and Bayleigh handled it with ease. She asked questions if she had any and provided solutions if there were any issues. I felt extremely comfortable knowing my pets were in her care. Not only did I enjoy working with her, but I truly felt my pets enjoyed her visits. My GSD ate his food (something he rarely does when I’m away) and my other two babies looked so happy in photos. She provided excellent reports after each visit with pictures too. I highly, highly recommend and will be using Bayleigh in the future!!”

“I had the pleasure of having April as a pet sitter for the second time for my two dogs, Sonic and Bubba, and she did an amazing job! She was incredibly communicative, always keeping me updated on how they were doing. April was also very respectful of my requests and made sure to follow everything to a T. On top of that, she was punctual and professional throughout. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“Amanda is fantastic with our cats and very meticulous about communicating with us. She played with them and gave us regular reports as well! I would highly recommend her.”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, up to three at a time. Over the years I’ve taken in many rescues and fostered dogs from time to time — big or small, young or old it doesn’t matter to me. I’ve also had cats throughout my life. Simply put, I’m an animal lover. Right now I have two dogs of my own, River and Bruiser (an 85lb beauceron and a 35lb true mutt, both rescues, who have traveled cross country with me. They hike, camp and swim but mostly love cuddles. I’m experienced giving medications when needed — oral meds, ear drops, you name it — and I’ve helped several dogs recover post-surgery. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages, behaviors and sizes. I’m active and outgoing, so I love taking dogs for long walks. I work from home, so as long as there’s Wi-Fi, I’m happy to house-sit and hang out with your dogs or cats while I work. I’m also available for quick drop-in visits — walks, feeding, water, play, fetch, whatever’s needed. Flexible scheduling works fine for me. I work from home full time so I’m here with them all day. We typically go for three walks a day in addition to play time in the yard and most importantly lots of belly rubs and cuddles. I have a fenced yard where we play fetch, take the sun and play in the sprinklers. Dogs have free reign and are allowed on couches and beds.
“Ladies and gentleman, when I say that this you g lady is dependable, I mean “can you please drop everything because my baby hasn’t eaten in 5 hours” type of panic. She drop across town to stepped up to the plate which calmed my soul. Us pet parents are extra sensitive when we are out of town, she never complained or said no. Sweet and dependable and TRUSTWORTHY!!! Emphasis on TRUSTWORTHY! If you are looking for peace of mind, Jasmine is the right and only choice! I will be seeking her services again.”

About: I’ve taken care of puppies, older dogs, and cats for 4 years now. I love and care for each animal as if they are my own because I know how important a pet is to their family. I also respect all the rules given by their owners and make sure I’m following exact instructions. I also volunteered on a farm for a while as a young child and grew up taking care of my family’s chickens so animal care is something that has always been a part of my life. I am just graduated from school and getting my priorities straight so I have a very flexible schedule. When I’m working other jobs, they’re in the evenings and in my control as for scheduling and time so if there are specific needs for your pets around certain times, I can accommodate. I pet sit and homes and follow all rules that are given for me. I treat your space and your pets space with full respect and make sure I take care of it even better than my own space.
About: I bring 12 years of cat experience to the table, which means I understand everything from litter box politics to the fine art of being ignored. I’m comfortable caring for cats of all personalities, shy, spicy, clingy, or aloof, and I know how to keep their routine calm and predictable. I also have 5 years of experience helping with dogs, including walks, feeding, playtime, and basic care. Cats may be my specialty, but I’m happy to care for dogs and make sure they’re safe, exercised, and well looked after. What sets me apart from other sitters is my patience and attention to detail. I respect boundaries, follow instructions closely, and focus on making pets feel secure in their own space. I take pet care seriously, while still enjoying every minute of it. During weekdays, I’m available from 3:30 PM to 3:30 AM, allowing for evening and overnight care. On weekends and holidays, I’m available all day, offering flexible and reliable pet care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow care instructions closely, maintain a calm environment, respect routines, and provide attentive, reliable care in your home or mine.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Zebulon
April, always does an amazing job. This was Allie’s first stay without our loved Kentucky Bear and I was so worried it was going to be hard for all parties involved. To my surprise Allie did great I think it’s because of the special bond her and April have. She may be my antisocial one but April makes her feel so loved and cared for. April even left us a special present with Kentuckys photos in it on our stove which she totally did not need to do at all. Thank you for being the best neighbor/dog sitter around I wouldn’t know what to do without you.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
