“For the weekend of March 20-22, we had such a good experience with Carlita watching our Lewey. You always feel a little nervous leaving your dog with someone for the first time, but she took good care of him. We so appreciated the regular updates of how he was doing. She kept us posted on his eating, playing and potty breaks so that we would know how he was doing and adjusting to a new environment. She took him on regular walks, ensured that he had playtime, and it was a plus that he had two other pups to play with. Carlita is professional, friendly and warm, and we would definitely recommend her. Thank you, Carlita, for taking time with Lewey while we were away.”

“Our lovely beagle, Snoop, had lots of fun at Rajita’s house with her lovely family! No problems with pick up and drop off and received some cute pictures while I was away. Thank you!!”

“Both Bicky and her partner were so welcoming and energetic, they maintained their place so clean and have a huge fenced backyard, which is really good for dogs to run and play fetch. They treated Simba as their own dog. They took care of him really well, we received updates with photos during his stay. Simba came back home so happy, doesn’t seem like he missed us or home at all.”

“Matt and his family took great care of my 6 month old Bernese mountain dog, Winston. They provided pictures and updates throughout the weekend and Winston came home happy and exhausted. Thanks Matt!”

“Martine and Ronald are TOP NOTCH!!!! We couldn’t be happier with their loving care, communicativeness, and flexibility. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! Sincerely, Brad, Danielle, and Pebbles”

“This was Riley’s first time with Rover and Monica made her stay memorable with love and belly rubs. Riley enjoyed spending time as part of the family. Monica kept in constant communication and sent pics and videos. I Highly recommend Monica and Riley is already looking forward to her next stay.”

“Michael was a fantastic sitter for our little guy. We received photos and constant updates throughout our time away. We will absolutely be using Michael again in the future, he's truly one of the good ones.”
“Hannah and Patrick took great care of my lab Junior. He is very high energy and they have a great back yard to accommodate his level of activity. A plus is they had other dogs coming for doggie daycare and Junior is very social. We will be using Hannah and Patrick on a regular basis for doggie daycare and whenever we are out of town for boarding! I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to rest assured their fur babies are in good hands!”

“Zoe enjoyed spending time with Chantel and family. Chantel provided frequent updates and pictures. I’m sure Zoe will return for additional visits. Thanks Chantel for taking care of our Zoe.”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of my dog! It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such kind and attentive hands. I really appreciate the time, patience, and love you showed!!! I will be rebooking! Thanks again😊😊😊💕”

“This was our second time booking with Hilary and Luke. Both times we went out of town for about a week and they were great with our dogs. My dogs got lots of time outside and plenty of pets and cuddles. They made sure to send us pictures everyday with updates. I know my dogs are safe and happy in their care. We will definitely be booking again!!”

“Sharon took fantastic care of Sully! I loved receiving all the notes and pictures during his stay. She was always quick to respond to any of our questions and it was evident she really loved taking care of the dogs. Would definitely book her again in the future.”

“10/10 would recommend! They are the sweetest bunch and took great care of my cat. All of their furry friends seemed to get along well with her! They sent me photos and updates everyday which were greatly appreciated. And last but not least, they were extremely flexible and kind with letting her stay for another night when I couldn’t make our agreed pickup time.”

“My husband and I went on a week long vacation at the end of June, and we were so pleased to have Michellle C take care of our Lewey. She made us feel so comfortable from the moment we met for a Meet and Greet, and Lewey loved her!😊 She kept us updated with videos and pictures, and it made it so easy for me to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing he was in good hands. She truly has a loving and caring spirit that she demonstrates for dogs. I will continue to use her services. The area of her home is so inviting for dogs to run around outside, and she also took Lewey for walks. It was nice that he also had a little “buddy” who was being taken care of as well. Thank you, Michelle!😊”

“Deanna is amazing, she made my little guy at home, she took very good care of him and gave lots of updates. He settled in within 24 hours which is not like him. Thanks Deanna!!”

“A dog is family, so finding a caregiver for an extended stay can be challenging. We found Paige to be ideal for Buster, a 12 year old Maltese mix. Paige's home environment is very similar to ours so Buster was comfortable in his stay. Paige communicated with updates and pictures which was nice and comforting for us. I would highly recommend Paige.”

“Stacey did an awesome job watching our pup! I know our dog was at ease & comfortable with her which was super important to us. She would communicate with us throughout the day & send us many updates which we loved. Our dog can be a handful meeting other dogs and isn’t the best on the leash but Stacey did great with her! She gave her lots of loves and cuddles too which was so appreciated while we were away. We will absolutely be using her again in the future!!”

“Tokena and her babies was amazing. Beans felt right at home. They made him feel comfortable and at home. Tokena kept me updated and sent pictures regularly calming my nerves. LOL He will be back.”

“Martica did a great job with my two dogs, Elvis and Domino. She regularly kept me updated with pictures and videos which I really appreciated! Both dogs came home happy, healthy and tired. I would definitely use Martica’s services again. :-)”

Krisztina was absolutely amazing with my dog, Beau! She kept me updated with messages and photos throughout his stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear Beau was well cared for, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention. When I picked him up, he was happy and seemed like he had a great time. I highly recommend Krisztina to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Chloe and her family watched Shadow for me while we were on a road trip. He seemed to like them right away and got along with their dog also. She was kind and easy to talk to. Was able to make Shadow feel safe and welcomed. Responsive to requests for more photos and gave daily updates. Thanks for taking care of my big boy.

Amber was amazing! I could tell as soon as I dropped my pup off that she had a lot of experience with dogs and getting them acclimated to a new environment. I knew my pup was in a great place. Her communication was great and she was flexible with me when I told her my schedule had changed a little.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
