About: I am certified in Pet CPR and First Aid through the American Health Training Association. Personalized Care, Special Needs Pet Care, and Experienced & Trustworthy I am retired and currently an Interfaith/Interspiritual Minister which provides me with a flexible schedule. I am available weekdays, most weekends and holidays for you. My services at this time will take place in your home. I will require an initial greeting to make sure your animal is comfortable and has a chance to get to know me in their own environment. I have worked with animals that have had anxiety and was able to work with them to gain their trust.
“Ayla goes above and beyond taking care of my peculiar dog and 2 cats! She’s thoughtful, sends pics and updates and also let me know my plants needed water. Highly recommend her for drop ins!”

“Mackenzie was amazing! She gave our pups some extra love and truly treated them like they were her own. She is very kind and makes an effort to go above and beyond! We were very grateful for her to watch our doggos. Will definitely book her again!!!”

“Ashley was amazing! She watched our dogs while we were out of the country and was very communicative. She was consistent with visit times and sent pictures each time. We felt super comfortable and were able to relax on vacation knowing our dogs were taken care of! Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been a dog owner most of my life! Currently, I own two dogs and I treat them like children. I’ve taken care of dogs since the age of 12. My family and friends would ask me to watch, feed, walk and play with their dog when out of town. I work from home so I will have plenty of time to play with your pups. I am available for weekend boarding, drop off anytime. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs that can play with your fur baby. I have a crate for your fur baby if needed.
About: Animals are truly my biggest passion! Having both a dog and a cat at home, I treat every pet I sit for like family. I’ve been pet sitting for neighbors and friends for about five years now, which taught me how to keep pets happy and comfortable in their routines. Volunteering at the Wake County Animal Center gave me great experience reading different behaviors, and my professional childcare background ensures I am highly reliable and safe. I can't wait to give your pet all the love, long walks, or quiet snuggle time they need! I currently work as a nanny, but my summer schedule is wide open with tons of weeks off while the family travels, giving me full availability right now! I have so much time to step away and completely spoil your furry friends. I'm also super active and love hitting the gym, so getting outside for daily walks and hitting my step count is a huge priority for me. Walking your pup fits perfectly into my daily routine, and I’ll make sure they get all the exercise, fresh air, and attention they deserve! When caring for your pets in your home, my top priorities are safety, consistency, and respect for your space. Because I am a professional nanny, keeping a tight eye on safety and sticking to precise schedules is second nature to me. I make sure to strictly follow your exact instructions for feeding, routines, and any medications so your pets feel secure and comfortable in their own environment. During walks, I am always highly alert to our surroundings, keeping dogs on a secure leash and completely avoiding interactions with unknown animals. At the end of every visit, I double-check that doors are locked, security systems are set, and your home is left exactly how you left it. You will get regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing both your pet and your home are in great hands!
“Eleanor was great! Very responsive and great with our blue heeler. Moving to the area, we were nervous to leave him with someone. We saw how well he got along with Eleanor when we met and we’re happy she was able to check in on our dog. She even fixed our WiFi when it went out, haha!”

About: I sometimes feel like a dog/cat whisper. I have a very calm nature and I think dogs/cats can really pick up on this. I have had animals of my own but could no longer afford the monetary funds it takes to care for dogs and cats. I am a retired active senior citizen and I have a lot of spare time I would love to devote to dog/cat boarding or walking. When I do care for dogs/cats in my home, I try to make sure they feel I care for them and snuggle and hold them, if I am allowed by the animal. I always wait to see if they have sniffed me and that lets me know they are or are not accepting of me.
“Kris always communicated promptly and arrived on time. She listened well and asked thorough questions at our meet and greet. Our cat's areas were left clean and tidy. When we needed to extend our stay she was available and did not hesitate to help. We hope to use her services again in the future.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was a kid. Neighbors, friends and family have always left me in charge of the furry ones! I’m currently free anytime one the weekends and anytime after four! I’m just a teenager who loves and animals and want to handle some more! I will ensure the safety and well being of the animals, feeding them, bathing them, and anything else necessary for the super lived furry companions.
“So great with Ava, my pup. I was away out of town for several days, and I could tell that my dog was loved on really well because she did not act anxious when I arrived in the door or need for attention. I could tell she had gotten lots of rubs and cuddles. Just what you want for your pup when you’re away.”

“Elaine was great with our pups! She sent lots of pictures and updates. We knew we didn’t have to worry and our pups were being spoiled while we were out of town. We will be using her again!”

Multiple post breaks and plenty of playtime and healthy stimulation

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, up to three at a time. Over the years I’ve taken in many rescues and fostered dogs from time to time — big or small, young or old it doesn’t matter to me. I’ve also had cats throughout my life. Simply put, I’m an animal lover. Right now I have two dogs of my own, River and Bruiser (an 85lb beauceron and a 35lb true mutt, both rescues, who have traveled cross country with me. They hike, camp and swim but mostly love cuddles. I’m experienced giving medications when needed — oral meds, ear drops, you name it — and I’ve helped several dogs recover post-surgery. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages, behaviors and sizes. I’m active and outgoing, so I love taking dogs for long walks. I work from home, so as long as there’s Wi-Fi, I’m happy to house-sit and hang out with your dogs or cats while I work. I’m also available for quick drop-in visits — walks, feeding, water, play, fetch, whatever’s needed. Flexible scheduling works fine for me. I work from home full time so I’m here with them all day. We typically go for three walks a day in addition to play time in the yard and most importantly lots of belly rubs and cuddles. I have a fenced yard where we play fetch, take the sun and play in the sprinklers. Dogs have free reign and are allowed on couches and beds.

I’m currently employed as an independently contracted mental health therapist and have availability during the weekdays and weekends as I build up a full case load. I would love to fill this time with dog walking and other pet care, if I can! My schedule is fairly flexible so I can be available to check in/care for dogs during normal business hours. I’m also open to staying overnight at clients’ homes to meet the needs of their dog if necessary!

We couldn't be happier with the care our Sophia provided for our three dogs during our vacation! We have one energetic puppy and two senior dogs, all with very different needs, and they were all cared for with so much patience, love and compassion She kept us updated throughout our trip with messages and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. It was obvious our dogs were comfortable, well cared for, and getting lots of affection while we were away. Coming home to three happy, relaxed pups meant everything to us. I highly recommend Sophia to anyone looking for someone dependable, caring, and attentive. We will definitely be booking with ther again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
