Ashley was amazing! She watched our dogs while we were out of the country and was very communicative. She was consistent with visit times and sent pictures each time. We felt super comfortable and were able to relax on vacation knowing our dogs were taken care of! Highly recommend!

About: I’ve been a dog owner most of my life! Currently, I own two dogs and I treat them like children. I’ve taken care of dogs since the age of 12. My family and friends would ask me to watch, feed, walk and play with their dog when out of town. I work from home so I will have plenty of time to play with your pups. I am available for weekend boarding, drop off anytime. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs that can play with your fur baby. I have a crate for your fur baby if needed.

Bethany kept me updated with pictures and asked questions about my cats if something didn’t seem normal (I have 1 cat that is sick and is on medication). She gave my one cat her medication daily and gave them both attention. I am thankful that Bethany took very great care of my cats. You can tell that she really loves animals.

Caitlin was absolutely wonderful! From our very first communication she was professional, personal and kind. She took time to connect with me before we left town and asked all the right questions! I felt at ease during our vacation knowing Caitlin was checking in on our two kitties. She did a great job at sending me photos and updates. I would absolutely recommend her! Looking forward to having Caitlin watch our pets in the future.

About: Hi, my name is Megan! I’ve been dog‑sitting since 4th grade and I’m now a junior nursing student at ECU. I’m CPR‑certified, responsible, and experienced with dogs of all ages. I’ve cared for multiple dogs at once, senior dogs, and puppies who need extra attention and structure. I’ve watched neighbors’ pets for years and have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy. I’ll always make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and well‑cared‑for. Pet care fits easily into my routine because I’m available full‑time over the summer before returning to school. I have a very flexible schedule right now, so I can accommodate daily visits, multiple check‑ins, long walks, or extended stays. Since I’m not in classes, I’m able to give dogs consistent attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I provide care directly in the client’s home so pets can stay comfortable in their own routine. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special needs. I keep the home tidy, give pets plenty of attention, and make sure they feel safe and relaxed while their family is away.

About: I’ve always had a dog for as long as I can remember. I currently have a senior dog, Violet, who I love very dearly. I worked for Waggers Pet Sitting for several years when I lived in Cary. I am now looking to add clients in the Clayton area. I take pet care and safety seriously, and I promise your dog will be in the best care while you’re away! I currently work part-time, so I have openings in my schedule to spend time with your pups. I have more flexibility Friday through Sunday. I want to make sure your pet is safe and comfortable. I am happy to crate your dog or make sure they are safely inside when I leave.

About: I love pets, and especially dogs! Puppy lover all the way. They are definitely the best friends a human could ever have. I can be flexible with my availability and I can be reached at any time. I'll be attentive to each dog and can assure you I may fall in love with your dog, therefore your dog will always be fed and happy while in my home. I love to play with all types of dogs, run and walk, I' be like an overprotective temporary big sister for them! I have a little furry sister know, a pom named Minnie Zoe, 7 years old and the little lady of the house. She is the one that gets the smiles every time we take her out and around. So your dogs will also have a little lady dog to play with and bark with. Pet care is a natural and joyful part of my daily routine because I truly love animals and spend most of my time at home caring for my own furry babies. My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to provide pets with plenty of attention, companionship, playtime, and loving care throughout the day. I enjoy creating a warm and comforting environment where pets feel safe, happy, and treated like family. I care for every pet with genuine love, kindness, and attention, treating them as if they were my own family. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, including meals, walks, playtime, medications, and any special needs, so they feel happy, comfortable, and safe. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I provide a warm, clean, and caring environment filled with affection, patience, and companionship. I also love keeping pet parents updated with messages and photos, so they can feel reassured and at peace while away from their beloved pets.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Archer Lodge stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Archer Lodge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Archer Lodge with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Archer Lodge. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
