“Andrea was very easy to work with. We did a Meet and Greet a few weeks before Oskar stayed with her. She sent pictures and updates almost every day. She responded promptly to my messages. I would consider sending Oskar to Andrea again if I needed a dog sitter.”

“Tania was great with our 2 year old Golden Retriever! Sends the most photogenic pictures and she was always great with communication and sending updates. Never had to worry about him while we were gone on vacation :)”

“Samantha was really good with our babies and kept us updated, during our busy wedding week and gave us peace of mind during all the chaos. Our babies looked happy and well cared for at pick up , will book again.”

“Lesley and her family took such amazing care of our dog, Banjo. Banjo was happy, relaxed, and clearly felt at home with them. She kept us updated, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. You can really tell that she and her family genuinely love animals and treat them like part of their own family. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

“Jemma did such a lovely job of taking care of our dog and we loved receiving pictures from her throughout the week. Our dog can be anxious in new situations but she did such a great job of keeping her calm and making her feel comfortable. Definitely recommend!!!”

“Our dog Jazzy was very well taken care of! We loved the photos and updates and we appreciate how attentive you were to her tendencies and her personality. She definitely had a great time playing with the other dogs there as well. We will definitely recommend to others and come back!”

“They were absolutely amazing! I got really good consistent updates on our fur babies and they had a great time! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good environment to have their fur baby stay.”

“Kelly was fabulous with my two doodles. I had never left them with somebody before and because my oldest dog has sight issues I was very nervous, but Kelly put me at ease immediately. Every day she would send me photos or videos with a little snippet about how things were going. I looked forward to seeing the photos and I could tell that they were having fun running around her yard. It is obvious that Kelly loves dogs and I will definitely use her again.”

“Nicole and her family were exactly what we needed. Communication and photos were plentiful and the love I could see that was given made me not have to worry about our dog while we were away. We will absolutely use their services again!”
“Rosie LOVED her stay with Carol. We received lots of pictures and updates. Carol was so kind and caring!! Rosie loved exploring her giant backyard. It was like a doggy vacation.”

“Taylor was FANTASTIC. We had never left our dog with anyone besides family before so this was a big leap of faith. Our dog is super anxious and Taylor worked to make her comfortable. She was incredibly responsive and sent lots of updates. Definitely spoiled our girl.”

“Tracey always does a fantastic job with our boy. He gets lots of love and attention from Tracey, her family, and his playmates. He has a welcoming home and yard to enjoy. She communicates clearly and often. She provides lots of lovely photos and updates.”

“Kim and John took care of both our dogs again and there is no doubt our dogs love it at their house! Kim and John were so accommodating and great to work with. We will certainly try and use them anytime we need dog sitters!”

“Boh had such a great stay with Alexandria! We loved all the updates we got during his stay and felt he was in great hands. She was very easy to communicate with and overall would highly recommend!”

“Tori and her family took such great care of our small older dog who has some health issues including med administration needs and occasional pain due to previous cancer. Everything from getting holly to their home (Tori last minute offered to pick Holly Up and this was a godsend because our trip was last minute and we were trying to coordinate many other things) to start her visit to pick up and updates in between were great. Her sons are very gentle and natural animal lovers so that was not any concern even though our dog generally prefers calm environments. I would highly recommend Tori and her family for caring for your pet!”

“Teresa was amazing and treated our dog like her own! I am pretty sure she did not want to leave! We were so pleased to be able to leave her with someone that took such good care of her! We loved the pictures we got every day and we will definitely be back!! They were wonderful!!”

“Isabel was so thoughtful, kind and wonderful with our senior pup. She sent us pictures daily and gave us regular updates. I felt as if she loved our dog as her own. We would highly recommend Isabel! 🫶🏻”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Angier
We’ve had a great experience every time they’ve watched our dog. She and her husband take really good care of him and are always reliable when we’re out of town. They send regular pictures and videos, which we appreciate, and they’re quick to respond whenever we reach out. It’s easy to trust that our dog is in good hands while we’re away. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable dog sitter.

I would absolutely have Alicia keep our English Lab Riley the next time we go out of town. Her personality and interaction with her family and dogs was very calm and secure, left me with no worries about leaving Riley with her. She sent us pictures and updates and kept us at ease about how Riley was doing. The whole process was easy and relaxed, very pleased with the experience.

Caitlin was wonderful with Scout. Our sweet pup takes 2 meds a day and has seizures. Caitlin’s took such good care of her, sending me pics of her getting her meds on time and of her having fun. She had 2 seizures while we were gone for nearly a week and Caitlin’s handled it like a pro. We will definitely use her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
