“Claudia and her sweet family treated Daisy (my 6mo old GSP) like their own pet. Claudia is the most amazing pet sitter. Responsive, reliable, caring - I couldn't have been more relaxed while away on vacation, knowing that my sweet pup is so loved and cared for. Highly recommend Claudia for your furry children ❤️”

“Isabel was wonderful and accommodated all my pup’s needs. She was incredibly hospitable and made sure my dog was cared for as her own! She asked tons of questions and filled me in on how my dog was doing while I was gone for 5 days! She and her care are amazing and my dog was really loved and cared for. I can’t thank her and her husband for caring for her so well on short notice!”

“This is my second time using Sayaka. Very nice people, I do not worry at all about my dog because I know he is with dog another dog family. Great about sending updates. Thank you again! We really appreciate it.”

“Karen and Vincent took excellent care of our two dogs, taking care of them as is they were their own. I have to say, I think our boys were a bit sad to leave! We will definitely use them again.”

“Taylor was an excellent boarder for my dog! She is professional, reliable, responsible, and kind. She paid incredible attention to all of my care instructions, took the time to ensure my dog’s comfort and ease, communicated well and promptly, and she kept me updated with photos and cute anecdotes. Taylor’s home is also well kept and very tidy. I would not hesitate to book with her again and I would recommend Taylor’s services without hesitation.”

“They were absolutely amazing! I got really good consistent updates on our fur babies and they had a great time! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good environment to have their fur baby stay.”

“Another 5-star stay with Kim & John! Dixie loves them and their dogs. She always comes home tired and happy, which also make me happy. They take great care of my girl.”

“Meyling was incredible with my dog. She was very communicative and detail oriented. Her dog was so sweet and got along with mine very well. Meyling gave my dog frequent walks, and was generous with treats and toys and lots of love. She sent many updates and photos to keep me updated. She worked form home and was able to spend lots of time time and attention on my dog. My dog had so much fun, instantly felt at home, and enjoyed the visit. I can not recommend Meyling enough for dogsitting and will be booking with her again whenever we need it.”
“Kristen and her family took wonderful care of our Dashi! She’s very responsive and provides frequent photos. Dashi was happy to see us, but we could tell that she was well cared for and content. She had a great time playing with Bentley and other friends!”

“Amber was an awesome sitter. She sent me pictures and updates, by the time I was back to get my baby he was attached to Amber following her around. I would definitely recommend Amber.”

“Tori and her family took such great care of our small older dog who has some health issues including med administration needs and occasional pain due to previous cancer. Everything from getting holly to their home (Tori last minute offered to pick Holly Up and this was a godsend because our trip was last minute and we were trying to coordinate many other things) to start her visit to pick up and updates in between were great. Her sons are very gentle and natural animal lovers so that was not any concern even though our dog generally prefers calm environments. I would highly recommend Tori and her family for caring for your pet!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better person to care for Jack while we were away! Communication was excellent, and we especially appreciated all the photos and videos—seeing Jack happy and well cared for gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear he was in great hands and getting lots of love. Highly recommend and would absolutely book again. Thank you so much!”

“Susan took very good care of Junior. She's excited to meet him and treated him as though he was her own pet. We appreciate very much the love that Susan and her husband extended to Junior while we were away. We highly recommend Susan as a trustworthy caregiver to your your beloved pet.”

“Kelsey was awesome! She was very communicative and sent me so many pictures throughout the weekend. I never had to wonder how Nash was doing. My dog had a blast playing with her sweet pup, Knox, and didn’t want to leave when we picked him up.”

“Wonderful sitter! She took good care of our girls and provided lots of updates! I loved seeing how happy my dogs were and I know she made them feel right at home! Would highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Angier
We’ve had a great experience every time they’ve watched our dog. She and her husband take really good care of him and are always reliable when we’re out of town. They send regular pictures and videos, which we appreciate, and they’re quick to respond whenever we reach out. It’s easy to trust that our dog is in good hands while we’re away. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable dog sitter.

I would absolutely have Alicia keep our English Lab Riley the next time we go out of town. Her personality and interaction with her family and dogs was very calm and secure, left me with no worries about leaving Riley with her. She sent us pictures and updates and kept us at ease about how Riley was doing. The whole process was easy and relaxed, very pleased with the experience.

Caitlin was wonderful with Scout. Our sweet pup takes 2 meds a day and has seizures. Caitlin’s took such good care of her, sending me pics of her getting her meds on time and of her having fun. She had 2 seizures while we were gone for nearly a week and Caitlin’s handled it like a pro. We will definitely use her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
