“Chantel was courteous and pleasant. Her home was safe, clean and seemingly a lot of fun for my pup. Her frequent updates were greatly appreciated! I travel frequently and she will be my first choice for a sitter for as long as she is available”

“An absolute gem!—super communicative, incredibly gentle and fun with my pets, and so thorough with every little detail! Knowing they were safe, happy, and well-loved while we traveled was pure gold. Came home to waggin’ tails and zero worries! ❤️”

“This is my first time ever using an app like this to find a sitter for my dog so I was super nervous and anxious but I soon found out I had nothing to worry about! Kimberley took really great care of my fur baby, sent me daily pictures, and best of all she had another pup for him to play with and keep him busy which is amazing since my dog is VERY energetic. Dropping him off and having my sister pick him up was very easy and straightforward, my nerves were at ease leaving Junior with Kimberley and I will definitely be reaching back out to her any time Junior needs a sitter!!”

“I am very happy with the care Carol has provided to Maya. She is very kind and attentive to Maya and her needs. She has a beautiful yard where Maya feels very calm and at ease.”

“Ksenia was so wonderful with Wrigley. She kept me updated over the weekend letting me know that he was adjusting just fine. She sent me pictures. Wrigley can be a little anxious at times and when I came to pick him up, he was super chill, which means I know he felt very comfortable at her house. Would recommend without hesitation.”

“Lindsey and Timothy were excellent with my bulldog. My dog had so much fun with their family. I was always updated and given photos and videos throughout his stay. I was quickly responded to with any questions or concerns. I definitely will be using them again and I know that my dog will be excited to see them again.”

About: I have experience caring for different kinds of pets, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience. I currently have three dogs, a cat, and a tortoise, so I’m very comfortable handling pets with different needs. What sets me apart is that I treat every pet like family — I’m attentive, caring, and make sure they feel safe and loved while their owners are away. Plus, I have a fenced-in backyard, which gives dogs a safe space to play and enjoy themselves. Pet care is already part of my daily life since I take care of my own dogs, cat, and tortoise every day. Feeding, walks, playtime, and cleaning up are all part of my routine, so adding care for other pets fits in naturally. I enjoy spending time with animals, so making it part of my weekly schedule feels very rewarding. In my home, I make sure pets feel comfortable and safe, with plenty of attention, playtime, and a fenced-in backyard for exercise. I follow their usual feeding and routine so they feel at home. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions closely — feeding, walks, medication if needed, and keeping the pet’s environment clean and calm. My goal is always to make pets feel loved and secure, whether they are with me or in their own home.
“Amber was great! She was very kind and took great care of our dog Pocket - who is a large dog with a ton of energy! She has a big yard for the dogs to run and play. She was also very responsive checking in! We appreciate her!”

“Jessie D and family were awesome. They really treated Tank like a VIP. They have an amazing yard and there two dogs accepted Tank and played with him nonstop. We will be bringing him back whenever we have a need to board Tank again. Thanks Jessie!”

“Jayda was amazing with my dog and kept me updated daily with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. I could tell my pup was well cared for and happy. Highly recommend!”

“This is our 2nd time having Carol take care of Indy and we know that he is in the best of hands. He clearly feels safe, comfortable, and happy there. Really appreciate all the photos and updates and love that Indy has buddies. Carol is the best!”

“My dogs came back just the way i left them. Maybe even slightly more in shape lol. Got plenty of photos the whole time and they were well taken care of. Will definitely recommend her to anyone i know and be a reoccurring customer”

“So happy to have found Leonardo & Oriana! They took such good care of my boy. They kept me updated and were very attentive and responsive. Will only book with them as much as I can! Highly recommend!”

“Andi can usually come up pretty anxious after she's been boarded or in someone else's home for a while. She was so relaxed, I'm not sure she wanted to leave! Elison, Lisa, and their family were so great.”

“Mary did a fantastic job watching Skye. She made coordination for the visit, drop-off, and pick-up incredibly easy. I loved receiving regular communication, updates, and photos throughout the stay. Skye was in great hands, and I highly recommend Mary to anyone!”

“Andrea is a great sitter. She kept fluent communication with my husband and I and Pacho had fun with Andrea’s children. I do recommend her, and definitely we will use her again next time.”

“Haley was very sweet and wonderful with Berkeley and Milo, sent lots of pictures, and was overall very impressive with two pups who have a lot of love and energy! I doubt they will go anywhere else except to Haley in the future, thank you!”

We had a very good experience with Emily! She was accommodating with our changing schedule, and kept us updated with pictures throughout the stay. She even filled out some gaps in her fence so my small dog couldn’t slip through, which gave me peace of mind! Definitely recommended.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
