“According to Mr. Meatballs (my distinguished feline critic with impeccable taste in humans), Suzie gets five paws up! He reports that she speaks fluent cat (including his advanced dialectical meowing) and passed all his rigorous tests: appropriate treat dispensing, optimal belly scratching technique, and most importantly, she didn't try to make him wear any ridiculous outfits. The Mr. Meatballs seal of approval is not given lightly, but Suzie has definitely earned it. Highly recommend!”

“Lura is fantastic! She shows up exactly on time and gives my girls a good walk. She also cleans the litter box for a few extra dollars which is so so worth it! I'm so glad to have found Lura!”

“Great sitter for my two dogs. Great reports and pictures of my dogs daily. She went over and above what was required, vacuuming the house of the dog hair for me, my shepherd sheds bad this time of the year. ! Highly recommend her and would use her again if the need arises.”
“Jessica was an amazing cat sitter! She was very communicative throughout the whole process from intro on the app, to our meet and greet and to caring for the cats. We’ll be sure to use her again!”

“Kaelyn was a God send! She not only accepted my last minute Thanksgiving drop in request but also was a loving, caring caretaker for my dog. I will continue to request her for all my future pet sitter needs.”

“Julia was fantastic with our 3 dogs for an hour drop in. She was on time, sent detailed notes about the visit and was super flexible with our schedule and needs. Will be utilizing her services many more times in the future!”

About: I enjoy walking dogs around the neighborhood and don't mind administering medicine when needed. I have given my own cat injections daily for diabetes and pills as well. I work from home and live in Clayton, so I have the flexibility to visit animals on any given day. I have flexibility mornings and evenings. I have 2 indoor and 2 outdoor cats of my own. I'm comfortable walking dogs and playing with them inside and outside. I'm happy to take your dog to the dog park if you're comfortable with them being in my car.
“Jen made this so easy. She came to meet my dog (Zelda) before I left for my trip, and I felt very comfortable leaving Zelda knowing that Jen was going to take great care of her. Jen sent picks of walking adventures and fetch. It really was helpful and easy! She took excellent care of Zelda (and me).”

“Abby was so attentive to my pups! She gave them so much love and made sure they got lots of activity during her visits. She was very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend her.”

“Leah was quite literally the best dog sitter we have ever had. She was so kind and loving to our girl and we didn’t worry a bit while we were out of town. We will absolutely be using Leah again!”

About: I am a dedicated momma to 2 human teenager and 1 fur baby, Oliver. I've cared for multiple pets in our home, checked on neighbor's dogs when they're out of town, and also fostered dogs in need of a safe place to stay. We're a dog family through and through. I'm in between jobs right now so I'm available for walking, drop-ins, boarding, and day care and can take on short notice gigs. I can't wait to love on your fur baby! I have a very open and flexible schedule. I prefer to offer care M-F during the hours of 9:00 am and 9:00 pm, but I'm also flexible if the need arises! I always meet a new dog with gentleness and let them feel me out - smell my hand, don't approach them, give a treat, etc. I always stick to the instructions and routine provided by their family to keep the care as stress-free as possible for the pup. My goal in pet care is to make sure the dogs feel loved and cared for while their owners are away!
“Followed directions for the pets and communicated through the app for our crew for a couple of drop-in visits. Received a photo and a short message at each visit. We'll call on her again when needed!”

“Ashley was amazing! She watched our dogs while we were out of the country and was very communicative. She was consistent with visit times and sent pictures each time. We felt super comfortable and were able to relax on vacation knowing our dogs were taken care of! Highly recommend!”

“Courtney is has been a great sitter for us. Our dog is elderly and sometimes requires more attention than normal or requested and Courtney always seems to go above and beyond during the visits. Thank you so much for all your help and support.”

“Dominique was so friendly and easy to work with. She took such good care of my senior dog and her needs. You can tell how much she loves animals and her job. I would absolutely use Dominique again. She took my dogs frisbee everywhere and Bella approved!”

About: I have loved and cared for pets of all kinds, sizes, and ages. I am well-attuned to the specific needs of any animal- all I ask is that you communicate those needs ahead of time so we can both discuss how to make sure your pet has a great time. Also happy to take care of any plant care/mail collection/etc. while you're away. For those seeking dog walking- I am experienced with large, high-energy, or nervous dogs. I can't wait to meet your pet(s)! I work part time out of the house in short stints- not longer than five hours at a time when I am staying with a pet. All my other work and school can be done from the home so your pet is not left alone for long periods. I love to play and snuggle with pets. I know some pets may be wary of strangers- I will give them the time and space to warm up to me. Please let me know how I can best care for your pet and home.

“This was my first time using rover and I am very pleased! It’s usually hard getting someone to watch my cats while I’m away so I decided to try the app. I came home to happy cats and I could tell they were very comfortable with Kaylee from the pictures she sent me while I was away. Will definitely use the app again!”

Kimberly did a fabulous job taking care of our beagle babies. They loved her and enjoyed their time with her. She made us and the babies feel at ease. We knew they were well taken care of because she takes her pet sitting duties seriously. We will definitely reach out to Kimberly in the future. We highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.
I was a little nervous to use a new dog sitter for my 2 big dogs but right away Cody stood out from the rest. He came over to meet Zuko and Krypto and I was immediately was at ease. It was obvious Cody was a natural fit for them. Cody dropped in while we were on vacation, gave me daily report cards and pictures of the dogs which I really appreciated. I know the dogs loved him! It was nice to not worry about them while we were gone! We will definitely be using Cody again, thank you!

- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
