“Rachael made our lives so much easier when she watched our pets. She went above and beyond to ensure they were cared for and nurtured while we were away. She provided excellent feedback and communication throughout her time with them. We are very pleased with her services.”

“Words cannot describe how absolutely fantastic Paul is. I've been on Rover for 7 years now and I can say confidently, without a shadow of a doubt that Paul is the best sitter that I've ever had and I'm so thankful and lucky to have found him. Paul went above and beyond to make sure that Teddy was well cared for and took the time to send lots of photos each day along with an informative summary of activities. Paul is genuine, thoughtful and you can tell that taking care of furry loved ones is meaningful to him. He is special and one of a kind and he will now be my first go-to for the foreseeable future. Thank you so much Paul!”
“Brian took great care of our two cats. We really appreciated the photos and updates he sent with each visit. He went above and beyond to engage our cats and keep our home clean and safe for them.”

“Taylor made me feel so much better about leaving my puppy! She sent a cute photo of her and updated me on how she was doing during her visit. I would love to have her visit again in the future!”

“Kristin did a great job with my cat and handled the somewhat complicated instructions for getting into my apartment building perfectly! I appreciated her flexibility in accommodating timing needs as well.”

“Alexis did a wonderful job taking care of our kitties! She played with them and gave them some great attention each visit along with feeding and watering and keeping the litter boxes clean. Would definitely use her again in the future!”

“Sofia was extremely communicative and sent lots of pictures. It was clear that all of my animals loved her, including two of my more skittish and shy pets. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“We've had Bell take care of our cat for two vacations now and we couldn't be more pleased! She took really great care of our Mina, making sure she was fed and cleaned and entertained. Mina even warmed up to her and asked for chin scratches and head bumps! We are seriously impressed and will certainly call on Bell to help us again in the future. Thanks, Bell!”

“Amy was so caring with our anxious pets, allowing them to warm up to her at their pace. Knowing she was looking after them while we were gone, we had no worries about their welfare and could enjoy our time away. Would definitely recommend her and hope to book her again the next time we can get away.”

About: Dogs have been my whole world since I was four years old, and I've been actively caring for them since I was around ten. Now at 25, with over 15 years of hands-on experience, I know what it means to love a pet like family, not just as a pet, but as a real member of your life. I'm a proud fur-parent to Boogie, a rescue pup I adopted at four months old. He's two now, and watching him grow has only deepened how much I care about the life every dog deserves. It's something I think about a lot: our pets are experiencing everything for the very first time, and that's worth honoring. I also volunteer as a temporary foster with Hope Animal Rescue, which means I'm comfortable meeting animals exactly where they are, whether that's a nervous newcomer or a playful goofball who wants all the attention. I take every walk and drop-in seriously, because I know a mid-day break and a kind, familiar face can make a pet's whole day. My schedule is more flexible than it might look on paper. I work full-time in the office four days a week, typically wrapping up between 3:30 and 4, and I'm always happy to stop by before work, after work, or in between my jobs. I also work part-time some weekday evenings and weekends, but my hours shift week to week, so I'd rather just talk through what works for you and go from there. If you need someone reliable who's willing to figure it out, I'm your person. When you invite me into your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I'd want for my own. I'm tidy, mindful of your space, and will always leave things exactly as I found them. Your pet's routine matters too. I'll follow whatever instructions you leave, from feeding schedules to favorite toys to the walks they're used to. For walks, I keep a close eye on leash behavior and surroundings, and I'll never push a pet past their comfort zone. I know some dogs need a slow warm-up and others are ready to go the second the leash comes out, and I'm happy to meet them wherever they are that day. You can also expect regular updates while I'm with your pet. I'm happy to send a photo, a quick message, whatever gives you peace of mind while you're away. I know handing over a key and trusting someone with your animal is a big deal, and I don't take that lightly.
“Blake is a wonderful caretaker! She gets great photos of my cat! She is flexible and reliable, and a great communicator. Makes it easy for me to relax when I am away from my kitty.”

“Zichen was wonderful with my dog. Her communication was excellent—she kept me updated throughout the stay and reached out immediately if anything came up. I really appreciated how attentive and caring she was with my pup. It was clear she took great care of my baby, and I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in good hands. Overall, she did a great job, and I would happily book with her again.”

“Kelly was able to accommodate us last minute for a drop in visit for our pup. She was prompt and followed our instructions for our senior boy. We would highly recommend!”

“Will definitely be my go-to sitter! My cats love her (and my corgi has also decided she can be a new best friend), and she took the time to really lovingly care for the kitties. Awesome person, and went above and beyond! (Even vacuumed up some extra kibble my kitties left behind) 100/10, will be hiring again.”

Zoe was really great during the entire booking and drop-in process. Very communicative while booking and planning the visit & she let us know exactly when she arrived and left each drop-in. We got great pictures and updates about how the two cats were doing, and when we got home they were clearly well cared for and happy for the attention they got from Zoe while we were gone. Definitely recommend and will book again for our next trip!

Kate is the absolute best. We can’t put into words how much it means to us to be able leave our 18 year old diabetic cat in Kate’s care and have zero worries. She always goes above and beyond and the peace of mind is priceless. She’s dependable, quick with communication and kind. She is out go to. We have booked multiple times with her before and have future bookings already scheduled. We check her schedule before we book hotels and buy plane tickets

She did an incredible job taking care of my two cats while I was traveling. One of my cats takes daily medication, and I really appreciated that she was able to administer it without any issues. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands, so I could relax and enjoy my trip. She was reliable, caring, and clearly treated my cats like they were her own. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!

I had such a great experience with my pet sitter! They took wonderful care of my cat, Peaches, while I was away. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring and attentive hands. They kept me updated with messages and photos, followed all of his care instructions, and made sure he had plenty of attention and playtime. Peaches looked happy, relaxed, and well cared for when I got home, which says everything.

Ally did a great job taking care of our cats! She was communicative, reliable, on time, and took great care of everything while we were away. She also sent the cutest photo updates, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. We'd definitely book with her again!

Jorge was great! We scheduled him for two drop-in visits today while we took a day trip. He was on time, very communicative, he even brought his own healthy treats and our dog loved him! He even brought in our Amazon package without asking! Thank you for everything! We will definitely re-book with you!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
