Highly-rated overnight sitters - Durham
“My dog had so much fun spending the weekend with Marilyn and her family! Marilyn sent lots of pictures and updates, and spoiled my dog to her first pup cup. She has a great backyard and other dogs around to play with, so my dog was exhausted when she got home. Great experience!”

“Tracy was absolutely wonderful to work with. This was our first time leaving our pup with her and it was clear from the moment they met it was going to be a great fit. Tracy communicated frequently to let us know how things were going in addition to sending pictures. It was clear that our little dog was getting the same loving treatment and attention she would at home. It’s never fun to leave your pup behind - but leaving them with Tracy makes it almost easy!!”

“My toy poodle had an amazing time with Anitra! She paid attention to his previous injuries and carefully administered meds as I requested while giving him all the love and attention. She also sent photos and videos each day so I can see how he was doing while I was away.”

“Once again, Erin and Dave have gone above and beyond while taking care of my pup. My dog was well taken care of, loved like their own, and Erin was very responsive during the entire stay. My pooch loves staying with Erin and Dave, it’s her own little vacation!”

“Goose had a great time staying with Emily! I got plenty of picture and video updates and she seemed very happy and comfortable. Emily was very responsive and took great care of her.”

“My dog Olive had a wonderful time. She got to play with the other pups and she was completely “dog tired” by the time I got her back. I’ll definitely rebook if I need another pet sitter.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a more kind host for Rocky. We got daily updates and a ton of pictures and videos which was so comforting for our kids. Rocky thoroughly enjoyed his stay and was very well taken care off. We will definitely use Camila and Lino again in the future.”

“Olivia and her husband took such a good care of my dog (her name is Olivia too, hehe). She was such a patient caretaker and was understanding of her personality as an anxious dog. I’m so glad I found her and I highly recommend her.”

“Jill did a great job communicating with me while I was gone. She provided photos and videos and made Gus feel right at home. I would recommend her to anyone who’s dog likes to be loved and around other pups.”

“Our pup had a great stay! We felt so comfortable with him being there, was obviously a loving home. Grateful for the help while we had to travel for a short trip. He came back to us so happy with the attention he got! Highly recommend ☺️”

“Emily and Will had the perfect setup for our Aussie — a house with two friendly pups and a spacious fenced-in yard. We appreciated that they keep their Rover pups to a maximum of two, so our girl got plenty of attention! They were also very communicative throughout the stay and sent plenty of cute pics. Also, also just really kind, friendly people! We’d definitely book them again.”

“I just picked Delilah up last night from an almost 10 day stay with Julie. This is only Delilah's second time ever staying with a stranger, and she came home in a great mood and seems to enjoy her stay with Julie which was a relief to my husband and I. While Delilah is an easy dog, she is a retired service dog and isn't used to staying with other people so the fact that she enjoyed her stay and came home happy meant the world to us. We would for sure use Julie again in a heartbeat. Thanks for taking such good care of Delilah!”

“It was great to have our Dora stay with Siomara and her family! She understood immediately what our spoiled princess needed and made a great connection. We had great communication throughout!”

“Savannah was very attentive to my dog and her needs! They were able to get my anxious lab-Pitt mix to relax and become comfortable with them and their pets (not an easy feat). I will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Remi is an anxious dog but seemed to enjoy/was comfortable during her time at Julia’s! Julia sent a ton of pics each day so I was never worried about how she was doing. We’ll definitely be using her again! :)”

“Lorraine was the best sitter ever! My Oakley loved his stay while I was away. She kept me updated with everything and made the process very smooth. Oakley loved her sooo much and its shows. I will definitely be booking again !”

About: I’ve cared for dogs all my life. They’ve been my favorite beings since childhood! My partner and I are primarily pet/housesitting via well-known platforms at this time. I will also have some availability for boarding and daycare. Pets are always the top priority, attending to routines, walks, medications, and making sure they feel safe, relaxed, and loved while you’re away. I work from home, which allows for lots of quality time and attention. I have a special soft spot for and lots of experience with seniors! I also know that some dogs need a little time to warm up and am experienced with giving those space and time to build trust. My 9-lb sweetheart dog is my amazing sidekick sitter. I only accept housesits where she is welcome. She is super chill, social, and adapts effortlessly into new environments. She has a knack for respecting social cues and making friends. I’m a new sitter on Rover, but regularly use other platforms for pet/housesitting - happy to provide links and references! Flexible remote work schedule, so lots of quality time and easy adherence to pet routines. I’m used to adapting my schedule to keep routines familiar, and my own dog goes almost everywhere with me. Our dog accompanies us on housesits. She loves all dogs, but due to her size and a tricky back knee, best fit will be calm and senior pets of any size or small high-energy dogs and pups. Housesits include light cleaning, plant watering, mail collection, and regular updates. Safety and communication are very important to me. As a dog mom, I know how much trust goes into allowing someone else to care for your beloved pet (and home) and I deeply respect and honor that. My goal is simple - that you return to a happy, well-loved pet and sparkling home.
“Erin did a wonderful job watching Islay while we were out of town! I appreciated regular updates and Islay seemed very happy and well taken care of. Erin was also flexible and helpful when our flights got delayed! We would definitely book with Erin again in the future.”

“The absolute BEST! So great with my cat. She sent updates, got great pictures, and it was clear my cat loved her. She really took the time every day to show some love to and take care of her. “Brynn took excellent care of my two kitties for a week. They are a bit shy with strangers and did hide from her, which I knew they would, but she managed to get a quick photo to send to me. She arrived promptly for our meet and greet and did everything I asked of her during the week I was gone. She is great! I will hire her again. You can trust your fur babies to Brynn's care!”

“Lila truly went above and beyond taking care of my cat. My cat has been a little off about sitters lately, and Lila took time (sometimes extra time) to let my cat warm up to her. She is definitely very good with cats, because my cat warmed up to her over the few days Lila was checking in on her! I got plenty of pictures, great updates, and felt very good leaving my cat in her care. She’s also a very nice person in general and accommodated my last minute sitter request. Would recommend to anyone looking for a sitter!”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Durham
“Anitra was so supportive in taking my pup for an early drop off, it was great to see Sydney at the dog park right next to her home while I was studying for a big exam. Highly recommend her!”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of care, attention, and consistency I provide. I don’t just “watch” dogs — I take the time to understand their routines, personalities, and comfort needs so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. I intentionally limit the number of dogs I care for at one time, allowing for individualized attention, a calm environment, and plenty of affection. In our home, dogs are surrounded by love — including from my daughter, who genuinely enjoys helping care for them and gives them extra cuddles, playtime, and attention. With regular updates, clear communication, and genuine care, every dog is treated like family — never just another booking. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I work from home full-time. This allows me to be present throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship—rather than leaving dogs alone for long stretches. I also have a small Yorkie at home, which helps keep our daily schedule consistent and structured, from regular potty breaks to walk times and meals. We’re lucky to have a nearby dog park that we walk to daily, giving dogs regular exercise, fresh air, and social enrichment as part of their routine. This established rhythm creates a calm, predictable environment where dogs can settle in quickly, while I remain available to supervise, respond to needs, and provide plenty of affection throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible to minimize stress, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and preferred play or rest times. I treat each home with respect and provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication so pet parents have peace of mind. In both settings, pets are cared for with patience, affection, and individualized attention—never rushed and never treated like just another booking.
“Jade was warm, professional, and provided attentive, loving care, and maintaining my dog’s routine perfectly. When I returned, my dog was happy and well-exercised, having formed a wonderful bond with Jade. I highly recommend Jade to anyone seeking a fantastic dog sitter!”

About: We’re an active, dog-loving couple who miss having a furry friend around - so we put all that energy into the pups we host. We raised a golden retriever for over 12 years, through eight different homes, which taught us how to stay flexible and make any space feel like home for a dog. We’ve also cared for the fur-babies of our friends and family over the years, so medium and large breeds are totally our comfort zone. Carleigh works from home every day, and John is home four days a week, meaning your dog gets tons of attention, playtime, and company. We’re not ready for a new pup of our own yet, but we love having short-term four-legged guests to spoil. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine because one of us is almost always home, so your dog will get tons of attention, supervision, and company throughout each day. We love taking breaks to go on walks, play outside, or just hang out with a furry friend while we work. Since we’re already active and outside often, adding a dog to our routine is fun and effortless. We treat every dog like a temporary member of the family. Our home is clean, calm, and set up to be dog-friendly, especially for medium and large breeds. We pay close attention to routines, instructions, and any quirks or preferences your dog has. We’re big on communication - you’ll get updates, photos, and messages so you always know how your pup is doing. Whether it’s play time, relaxing, or sticking to their normal schedule, we make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for from the moment they arrive.
“What a great experience with Martine and her husband. They obviously made Bryce feel welcomed in their home … as by the second day he went straight to her front door and didn’t look back while I was leaving. Also want to “shout out” her willingness to be a bit flexible with the schedule … (I was meeting a friend locally and wanted to be able to enjoy Raleigh for dinner (which was awesome at The Plate). This pet sitting experience enhanced my visit to Raleigh !!!”

“Very easy to work with, sent lots of photos, and took our dog all over for the day so she was very entertained and tuckered out when we picked her back up! We would definitely use them to watch our girl again!”

“Shan was fantastic! We had a great experience using her for daycare and will absolutely use her in the future for boarding. She was so sweet to our nervous dog and made her feel comfortable quickly. Ruby had a great day with Shan and Coffee!”

“Have to get on the road here but wanted to hop on to say that Paul is the best! Drop off and pick up went well and my dog looked happy in the photos he sent and when I picked her up she seemed so comfortable in his home. Great yard for energetic dogs and Paul is kind and amiable. Would definitely consider working with him again 👍🏾”

Adventure-ready dog walkers - Durham
About: A few years ago, I lost both my very senior dogs, which I adopted as puppies from the shelter. As you can imagine, there's a dog-shaped space in my life. I'm not ready to adopt again, but that means your dog has a second home! Other than errands, I’m home all day with your dog. (If they like car rides, they’re welcome to join me for school dropoff and pickup!) My yard is fenced and shady, and there are plenty of sidewalks for adventures around the neighborhood. If your pet needs a crate, please provide it. I almost always have more than one dog at a time, so yours needs to be dog-friendly or at least dog-tolerant. I also have twin 11-year-olds—both great with dogs, but yours should not be kid-reactive.

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and have experience caring for both big dogs, small dogs, and cats. Back home in Tennessee, I have 2 Yorkies and a Goldendoodle, and I’ve also helped neighbors, friends, and family care for their pets over the years. I’m patient, dependable, and love making pets feel comfortable and cared for. I currently have a very flexible schedule that allows me to work around your pet’s specific needs and routine. I typically work mornings during the week and am usually home by mid afternoon, but I can adjust my schedule as needed for walks, potty breaks, feedings, playtime, and medication schedules. I make it a priority to give pets plenty of attention, consistency, and companionship so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I always do my best to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed while in my care. I pay close attention to each pet’s normal routine, energy level, feeding schedule, and any special instructions so they can stay as stress free as possible. I’m experienced with walks, potty breaks, playtime, crating if needed, and giving pets space when they need it. I also make sure owners stay updated with messages and photos so they can feel confident their pets are being well cared for.

“Bell is reliable, attentive, friendly, and my dog loved her! He is a fearful and sometimes stubborn baby, she was able to get him out for walks on the first visit when it has often taken people multiple times to get to that point. She was very quick and thorough in her responses and put me at ease that my pup would be okay while I was out of town. We will definitely consider her again in the future!”

“Dana is a life-saver! She took great care of my two young labs with medical needs the first time I had to leave them home alone. She was very communicative, easy to work with, and went the extra mile to keep the boys safe and happy. Knowing that she was checking on them gave me peace of mind while I had to be away.”

“Gabby is a dream! Gabby was so open to trying two different methods of easing our Roo’s anxiety and collaborated with us so patiently and kindly. I appreciate Gabby’s promptness and communication! We can’t wait to have Gabby drop in our girl again soon❤️ thank you Gabby!!”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was a teenager, for neighbors, family, and friends - and for a diverse range of pets. From bearded dragons to rabbits to goats, I have had the honor of working with all of them! I've always felt like it was such a honor to be trusted with someone's family members and I do my best to provide the best experience for each pet. I love keeping owners updated with lots of pictures and making sure to always learn each pets unique personality and needs. I currently volunteer walking dogs at a local animal shelter and in addition to regularly house sitting for several families, I also provide last minute walks for several of my friends as my WFH schedule allows. I have had extensive experience with our senior pups both in my personal and professional life. I also love taking care of the shelter's puppies and stronger or more sensitive walkers. I work a hybrid schedule with most weeks following the same pattern. I am available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout the day as my responsibilities allow. I am fortunate enough to work with enough flexibility that I am able to take time to check in on pets during the work day. I recently adopted two kittens into my family and have loved every moment with them! I think the most important part of pet ownership is the ability to cultivate an environment that allows the animals to grow and shine in their own personalities. I make sure to ask several questions for every job I do in order to provide the most personalized care. I love to send update photos and guarantee open channels of communication with owners.

About: Hello! My name is Ayana, and I’m 25 years old. I have a passion for working with animals of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I currently work professionally in a dog daycare/boarding environment, where I spend my days caring for dogs in group play settings, monitoring behavior, supporting enrichment activities, and making sure every pup stays safe and has fun! I’ve had animals by my side for as long as I can remember and currently have a kitten of my own who completely runs the household. I also have a senior cat who still lives with my mom and will forever be my first baby. Through both personal and professional experience, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, patient, attentive, and genuinely caring to look after your pets. At this time, I’m offering dog walks and drop-in visits. My work schedule can vary week to week, so I keep my Rover calendar updated regularly to reflect my availability. I can’t wait to meet your pets, learn all their little quirks and personalities, and give them lots of love and attention while you’re away! I plan on providing for your pet as if they were my own while still following all your wants and needs. I will make sure to send pictures and updates!

About: I have grown up with big dogs in the house with all sorts of personalities! When I was 12, my family got a Sheepadoodle and trained her to be a therapy dog for our local community. I have range of experience from walking and running high energy dogs to hanging out with the low energy dogs on the couch! I am an Indiana University graduate and looking to take care of animals while growing my entrepreneurial skills. I just moved to Durham and I’m excited to explore more of the town! My schedule is flexible and I am willing to respond to your requests! I talk to and hang out with my family and friend’s pets like they are my own children! I believe that pet’s boundaries are just as important as ours and I will match the energy of your furry friend! Also, at every visit, I make sure to clean and organize the house better than I found it.

“Paris did a wonderful job watching my Senior dachshund for a week. It was my pet’s first time staying with someone who she didn’t know. I was really nervous about leaving her but my pet did great. Paris sent pictures and messages every day about what had happened during that day. My pet seemed to settle in well and had a great stay. I definitely will contact Paris again if I need to board my little Doxie again.”
