My dogs loved Taylor for their walks while we were on Vacation…I thoroughly enjoyed meeting her at our “meet up” visit and felt completely comfortable with her abilities and history of owning and caring for dogs and other animals since she grew up on a farm…Highly recommend her as a Rover and will engage her services again in the future with complete confidence…

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and have experience caring for both big dogs, small dogs, and cats. Back home in Tennessee, I have 2 Yorkies and a Goldendoodle, and I’ve also helped neighbors, friends, and family care for their pets over the years. I’m patient, dependable, and love making pets feel comfortable and cared for. I currently have a very flexible schedule that allows me to work around your pet’s specific needs and routine. I typically work mornings during the week and am usually home by mid afternoon, but I can adjust my schedule as needed for walks, potty breaks, feedings, playtime, and medication schedules. I make it a priority to give pets plenty of attention, consistency, and companionship so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I always do my best to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed while in my care. I pay close attention to each pet’s normal routine, energy level, feeding schedule, and any special instructions so they can stay as stress free as possible. I’m experienced with walks, potty breaks, playtime, crating if needed, and giving pets space when they need it. I also make sure owners stay updated with messages and photos so they can feel confident their pets are being well cared for.

About: A few years ago, I lost both my very senior dogs, which I adopted as puppies from the shelter. As you can imagine, there's a dog-shaped space in my life. I'm not ready to adopt again, but that means your dog has a second home! Other than errands, I’m home all day with your dog. (If they like car rides, they’re welcome to join me for school dropoff and pickup!) My yard is fenced and shady, and there are plenty of sidewalks for adventures around the neighborhood. If your pet needs a crate, please provide it. I almost always have more than one dog at a time, so yours needs to be dog-friendly or at least dog-tolerant. I also have twin 11-year-olds—both great with dogs, but yours should not be kid-reactive.

Bell is reliable, attentive, friendly, and my dog loved her! He is a fearful and sometimes stubborn baby, she was able to get him out for walks on the first visit when it has often taken people multiple times to get to that point. She was very quick and thorough in her responses and put me at ease that my pup would be okay while I was out of town. We will definitely consider her again in the future!

About: I’ve lived with or taken care of dogs since I was young. More than 20 years! We adopted our family dog,Thompson, who was a chow mix, from Animal Control when he was 2-3 years old. He was with us for over 10 years. In the past 6 months, I’ve done house and pet sitting for 2 pit bulls at one home, a a feisty cockapoo at another, as well as stayed with an elderly yellow lab and her feline roommate. I’ve helped with the 2 latter owners several times. I’m semi-retired, and when I have a contract I work from home. Other than spending time and taking care of my cat, Owl, I can be available as my schedule allows. My cat, Owl, is an indoor only cat. I prefer to help out at the owner’s home. Owl is very shy and gets anxious around animals he doesn’t know.

About: I have been caring for a variety of pets for as long as I can remember. Growing up, we always had at least three to four animals in our home, and I’ve had the opportunity to care for many different species, breeds, sizes, and personalities. I currently have two cats of my own, and they are truly my pride and joy. I have also spent the past few years volunteering at an animal shelter in Cincinnati, where I gained experience working with dogs of all backgrounds, personalities, and behavior styles, as well as assisting in the medical clinic. This experience has helped me better understand animal behavior, patience, and the importance of providing compassionate care for every pet’s individual needs. I love getting to know each animal’s personality and will take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and boundaries. Whether your pet enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, enrichment, or simply having a calm and caring presence nearby, I’m happy to provide care in the way that makes them happiest while giving you peace of mind that they are in great hands. I currently work in a research role that gives me the flexibility to come and go as needed, allowing me to provide reliable and attentive care throughout the day. I’m able to accommodate different routines and schedules to make sure your pet gets the attention, exercise, and companionship they need. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors — running, biking, hiking, and going on walks — and would love to have your pet(s) join me for some adventures if that’s something they enjoy! At the same time, I’m just as happy spending a quiet afternoon on the couch with pets who prefer a slower pace. Whether your pet is active and loves exploring or is happiest relaxing at home, I’m happy to meet them where they are and provide care that fits their personality and routine. I have a fenced-in backyard available for quick potty breaks and a safe outdoor space when pets are staying with me. I also live close to walking trails and dog parks, giving dogs the opportunity for walks, enrichment, and exercise if that fits their routine and comfort level. I have two cats of my own who are an important part of my family. They have spent a lot of time around dogs through visits to my parents’ home, as well as when I have brought dogs home for day trips and foster stays from my time volunteering at the animal shelter. I understand that every pet has different comfort levels, so I always prioritize slow introductions, supervision, and making sure all animals feel safe and comfortable. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat your space with the same respect I would want for my own. I am neat, tidy, and attentive, and I will leave your home exactly as I found it while making sure your pet receives the care, attention, and routine they are used to.

About: I grew up taking care of my pets and wanting to be a veterinarian. I had two cats and a dog while growing up and have experience feeding, walking, and even administering medication to animals. As I got older I understood the devastating parts of animal care and decided to pursue medicine rather than veterinary school but my passion for animals continued. For the last five years, I have volunteered at numerous animal shelters as well as taking care of dogs and cats privately in the owner’s home as well as taking them on walks throughout the day. This year is my first year living without an animal and I am hoping Rover can provide the cuddles and animal connection I miss so dearly. I lead an active lifestyle which includes several walks and runs a day which I enjoy doing with dogs I watch as well. I would be happy to take your pups with me if they are willing! I am looking forward to getting to know and taking care of new animals! I am currently a graduate student at Duke and love spending my time outdoors! Happy to accommodate my daily routine to fit whatever works for your pets! Let’s work something out :) I live by parks and can take them on walks or socialize them if that’s something you’re interested in! Happy to also relax and gauge what’s best for the animal/ what you recommend!

Claire patiently and gently built trust with our recently rescued, young husky, Wheeler, who can be apprehensive with some people. She showed equal patience and skill walking this often stubborn teenager who can slow down a walk by obsessing over acorns and rolling around in grass. Claire is also a great communicator and shared many photos of their walk. She went the mile by setting Wheeler up with his beloved peanut butter kong treat in his kennel as requested. It was a relief to know he was in her care.

  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
