“Ally is willing to go above and beyond to make all animals feel comfortable and cared for. She’s very responsive and provides any and all reassurance and communication.”

About: After growing up with cats and dogs all my life, I have a special place for them in my heart. I now have two cats of my own that I love to spoil and care for. I have experience walking and checking on neighbors' dogs as well as house/pet sitting overnight. I have experience working with a wide range of cats and dogs - from kittens and puppies to senior pets. Depending on your dog's personality and interests, possible activities include playing at dog parks, walking through the neighborhood, or relaxing in the backyard. I am detail oriented and will cater to you and your pet. I would love to become your pet's best friend!
“Bell is reliable, attentive, friendly, and my dog loved her! He is a fearful and sometimes stubborn baby, she was able to get him out for walks on the first visit when it has often taken people multiple times to get to that point. She was very quick and thorough in her responses and put me at ease that my pup would be okay while I was out of town. We will definitely consider her again in the future!”

About: I know how stressful it can be leaving your pet with someone new. My goal is to give you peace of mind by treating your pet like they're apart of my own family. Over the years, I've cared for and watched pets for neighbors, family and friends, everything from drop-in visits to extended stays and I genuinely enjoy giving each animal the same care I'd want for my own. I currently own two senior cats (my babies), so I'm especially comfortable with older pets who may need a little extra patience, medication, or a gentler routine. I also frequently care for my sister's dog and cat when she's traveling, so I'm experienced juggling different personalities and needs under one roof. Whether it's sticking to a feeding schedule, giving playtime and snuggles, or just making sure your pet feels safe while you're away I treat every animal like family. I have a pretty open schedule, so I'm flexible and can usually accommodate what works best for you. I'm available for: Weekday visits and walks: morning, afternoon, or evening Weekend care: both Saturday and Sunday Recurring bookings: happy to set up a regular schedule if that's what you need Last-minute requests: if something comes up, just ask Whether you need daily check-ins for your cat, a midday dog walk, or someone to stop by while you're out of town, I can likely make it work. Don't hesitate to reach out and ask about a specific time, I'm happy to figure something out! I know how hard it is to leave your pet in someone else's hands, I feel the same way about my own. That's why I treat every animal I care for as if they were my own. Safety first: I'm always alert to potential hazards, things like open doors, toxic plants, small objects that could be swallowed, or escape routes. I follow any instructions you leave to the letter, and I'll check in if anything seems off. Trust & communication: I'll send regular updates with photos so you always know how your pet is doing. Whether it's a quick text after a drop-in or a full report after a walk, you'll never be left wondering. I respect your home, your space, and your pet's routine. A calm, loving environment: I meet every animal where they are, shy cats get patience and quiet company, energetic dogs get walks and playtime, seniors get gentle care and extra comfort. My goal is to keep their day as stress-free and happy as possible, so you can relax knowing they're in good hands.

About: I've been caring for dogs since 2014, when my family welcomed our own dog into our home. Because he was reactive around other dogs, I gained firsthand experience with consistent training, patience, and understanding canine behavior. Through structured training and positive reinforcement, I watched him become much calmer and more confident around other dogs, which taught me the importance of tailoring care to each dog's unique personality and needs. I've also fostered a puppy, giving me experience with younger dogs and the extra attention, playtime, and consistency they require. I love keeping dogs active by taking them on long walks and hikes, exploring new trails and neighborhoods while making sure they get plenty of exercise, enrichment, and affection. Whether your dog enjoys an adventure outdoors or prefers a slower-paced stroll, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while they're with me. I am currently a graduate student at Duke University, so I will have flexible time for your pup's needs! I am free all day on weekends, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday after 12pm, Thursday after 1:30pm. I am available to walk dogs during the day and typically enjoy local hikes around Eno State park. Your dog's safety is my absolute priority. During walks, I always keep dogs securely leashed unless we're in a designated off-leash area with the owner's permission. Since I have experience with reactive dogs, I stay alert of our surroundings and will avoid situations that may be stressful for dogs. When caring for pets at your home, my rule is to treat your home and dog as I would treat mine. This includes following feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and respecting house guidelines. I also make sure pets have plenty of attention, playtime, enrichment, and bathroom breaks. As an attentive dog owner myself, I understand the need for peace of mind while you're away. I provide regular updates and photos to keep you informed about how your pet is doing. My intention is to make sure your pup is happy, safe, and healthy while you are apart.
“Heather has been a great walker for my pup! She always takes good care of her and sends pics and updates. I especially appreciate how often she’s been able to come through on last minute requests.”

“So thankful Randy was able to walk our pups. I'll be reaching out again if I go out of town. Was communicative and friendly, followed instructions, and was great with the pups.”

About: I have had pets all my life, they have always been part of my family, and I truly value their importance. I love giving them a safe, comfortable, and loving space. I have free afternoons and evenings on weekdays after work, and I’m fully available on weekends. My husband/partner works from home on some days, so your dog will rarely be alone. I truly enjoy having company, and I’m used to walking three times every day with them. Your dog will be free to move around my entire home. At night, I have a designated open space for their bed, food, water and toys that is connected to the living room, so they are always part of the home environment (shown in the attached photos). But if he/she prefers, the living room is also available always 🐾 Just a few steps from my home, there’s a quiet, pet-friendly, low-traffic area that’s perfect for walks, as well as a park just a few streets away. If you’re comfortable with it, we can also take him/her to a nearby trail or park. I enjoy walking and running, and when your dog arrives, we start with a walk to help him/her feel comfortable and get to know each other.

About: Hey! My name is Jordan, I have been pet sitting and house sitting for 3 years and babysitting this past year for my friends and family! I just turned 18 so I can finally make an account of rover, but I love animals. I’ve been around all kinds of dogs and cats and can match whatever energy your pet needs, whether that is going on a run, playing fetch, or chilling on the couch watching a show! Truth be told I care more about animals than people. Maybe that sounds harsh, in reality we do not deserve animals but we get the best companionship you could ask for. I’m currently away for school and can explain how much I miss my dog. I’m hoping to pour love into other pets while I can’t with my own ♥️ I am a part time cosmetology student at Aveda Chapel hill. My hours are 9 am to 8 pm Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Every other day I will be more than happy to spend time with your pets. I live with my 24 yo sister and her husband. They have a dog named Tony who is super sweet. Before being able to watch pets in my home I would have to introduce them to Tony to make sure both parties are safe. if I am watching your pet at your house feel free to ask me to wash dishes, straighten up or do a load of laundry! Same goes for housesitting!!

About: Growing up with my rescue dog, Jazmine, shaped the way I care for animals. She had only one working eye, so I learned early that every pet has unique needs, personalities, and routines. Looking after her taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of making animals feel safe, comfortable, and loved! Today, I bring that same level of care to every pet I look after. I work remotely, which allows me to spend more quality time with the pets in my care while maintaining a flexible schedule. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’m happy to adapt to what makes them feel most at ease. In addition to Rover, I’ve also cared for pets through other trusted house-sitting platforms, giving me experience looking after both pets and the homes they’re most comfortable in. I understand how important trust and communication are, so you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and prompt responses throughout your booking. I’m respectful of your home, attentive to your pet’s routine, and committed to providing the same level of care I’d want for my own. My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind while making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and happy until you return!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Gorman
Arwen was super sweet and patient with Mallory! She showed up on time and spent the bulk of her time outside with Mal even on a super chilly day. She made me feel comfortable during our meet and greet that she could match Mallory's vibe while out on a walk whether that was logging a mile or two or just stopping and sniffing nature.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
