About: I have been dog sitting for 6 years now. I have watched all sizes and ages out there. I am a certified vet assistant studying to be a vet. I do have a volunteer position somewhere but my hours are flexible but as long as I have a 3 day notice I should be able to take the job. I can regularly walk your dog and play with them outside. Typically I do not spend much time on my phone unless the dog is laying down to take a nap.

“Charlotte has been great. Great communication great attitude sends lots of photos. Peach really seems to be enjoying her daily walks.”

About: Large family - 3 young adults currently residing here, the youngest is 16 - so lots of people contact and play time but we have had many dogs through the years and know the balance needed for different types of dogs between play and down time. Large back yard - dogs get plenty of free play time in back - fenced in Large front yard far back off the not-so-busy road - 2 cats also live here and they come and go inside and outside as they please. They are used to having dogs here but if your dog chases them they will stay outside longer. Ha ! We leash walk out front when needed. We have trails to leash walk as well. No walking on roads. Most of the time the dogs love the fenced in back yard. I work from home so I am here most of the time and my girls come and go with work/school commitments. Large clean simple home where dogs can freely roam about. They can choose how and where they sleep including with one of the kids if they like or in their own room or in their crate. Whatever they are used to is fine. My kids love to have dogs sleep with them. Our family bred labs and shelties for over 10 years learning to train well behaved puppies and how to manage many dogs at once. All my grown kids have dogs of their own now and we still have former customers and references calling us for more puppies. We do not breed any longer but that experience gave us alot of skill sets. Most of my kids have vet tech quality experience raising livestock as well as 2 breeds of dogs. They have given shots, pills, birthed puppies, dewormed and know alot of things to look for when a dog is not quite up to speed. Experience is key to knowing different types of personalities and attitudes of dogs. I'm here all day where they can lie near my desk while i work or come and go out the back door as they please for play or basking in the sun on the porch - also just behind my desk. We take orders from you and try to make their routine match as closely as normal so they have fewer changes to make while in a different place.

“Stephanie was great! She took awesome care of Jake while we were away. We were always kept up to date with how Jake was doing. I can highly recommend Stephanie for your dog walking and drop in visits.”

“Very communicative and shared serval pics from his walk with Fynn! Appreciate his kindness and promptness.”

About: I have loved and cared for pets throughout my life, having owned dogs for as long as I can remember. This year, I began pet sitting for family and friends, and I decided to create a rover account to offer my services more widely. If you're seeking a reliable pet sitter who is passionate about animals, look no further—I’m here for you! I currently work part time so I have blocks in my day where I’m free in the evenings and early mornings to check in for potty breaks and meal times. I like having a list of instructions on my visits. I can easily allow your pet in their crate or let them roam freely while I’m there.

About: I have lots of pets, including 3 big dogs and 1 pit bull, and I also rescue and foster cats. I volunteered at APS for 1 year, where I walked dogs, learned how to handle big dogs in a very stressful environment for them, and learned how to care for certain pet medical needs(such as worms). My home has become essentially an animal sanctuary for cats! I never leave a cat stranded and always take it to the vet right away to address any medical treatment needed! I am good with handling all size dogs but I typically prefer to work with medium-small dogs, and I'm great with handling cats! I'm working a part time job right now but my schedule is pretty leniant! Mornings, night, and midday are all times I'm available to work! Although I mostly would like to do drop-ins, I'm fully able to do house sitting as well as long as the times are communicated a few days in advance! At home I make sure all my pets are fed according to the time that they need, many people have different feeding schedules and I'm able to cater to any of the pets needs. For dogs making sure you keep eyes on them at all times especially when outdoors. Making sure all doors leading to outside are shut, or pet is fully secured before a door is opened. Paying attention to warning signs of distress in an animal is very key. Whether they are having a physical reaction to something or it appears more emotional, having a close eye on the pet assures that they are getting the help they need at all times. And of course lots of loving and play with the animals if that's what the owner recommends! I understand that not all animals are playful or affectionate, but for the ones that are its definitely good to take a little extra time out of the day for some belly rubs!

About: Dogs and cats deserve love and attention and that's why I'm here to help! I grew up with dogs and cats and raised a golden retriever for 14 years. I know it takes responsibility, patience, and a mutual understanding to take care of any animal. I love walking dogs and playing with them at the park. Some things I enjoy include hiking, cooking, and crafting. I currently have a 3 year old tabby cat named Ozi. He gets along with practically any animal. He is super energetic, and loves to cuddle. I currently work part-time so I am able to manage pet care daily. Before I head to work, I would make sure the pet is taken care of; fed, walked, and given attention as well as after work. I have plenty of time to take care of your dog and or cat! I make sure I follow their meal schedule and they receive lots of love I make sure there is open communication between us and I know all of your pets needs are taken care of. For example, how they socialize with children and other animals

“Marissa has been doing a great job with my dog! She’s so easy to communicate with and has really helped me out on days when I can’t walk my dog in the late morning or afternoon. She also takes him for a long walk and uploads good photos as well.”

About: Loving owner of two beautiful and healthy dogs Sammy and Louis. Sammy is a miniature Australian shepherd (age 11) and Louis is a rescue pocket Pitbull (age 8). I have grown up in a household full of cats, dogs, Guinee pigs, ferrets, and hedgehogs so I am familiar with all sorts for four legged critters. I am looking for part-time work, and taking care of animals sounds like a dream job. My partner owns a dog walking service in our neighborhood in north Durham (Treyburn neighborhood). I have a wide open schedule at the moment, so if you're looking for a flexible care taker I'm your guy. I am available weekdays and weekends - morning, noon, night and overnight. I love and respect all of earths creatures, this goes double for our fur babies. I know we treat our dogs as if they were our own kin in our home. I will do the same for any pets I have the pleasure of meeting.

About: I have a lifetime experience of living with dogs and cats - I have had animals all 21 years of my life! I am adept at handling dogs with all kinds of temperaments, whether they are full of energy or shy and nervous around new people. I am also used to large or small breeds, and I am a huge cat lover! I am a college student studying computer science, and am looking for a part-time job for the summer. However, I am very willing to be flexible with my schedule and figure out the best times for everyone! When caring for your pet, I am totally willing to do whatever I need to do! I love going for walks and playing, and would be happy to feed or give medicine if needed. I am also more than willing to brush dogs, since I have a curly doodle and I know how important it is to keep them from matting! I will always make sure to be considerate of your home and will care for your pet as my own!

If I make a commitment to care for your family member(s), I will give them TLC as if they were my own. If I had the ability, I would have my own sanctuary. I am currently available to care for your dogs, cats and any other pets that you have. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or to discuss possible arrangements. Best wishes, Arlene I am a newer resident to NC. I unfortunately was laid off from my job during Christmas 2024. Right now , my preference is to work with animals or humans with special concerns.
