About: I have always had a deep love for animals, and caring for them has been a natural part of my life. From energetic puppies and kittens to senior pets, who need more patience and comfort, I truly enjoy getting to know each animal's unique personality. I currently own 3 big dogs, each with their own unique needs - they are such a joy to take care of each day. Whether your pet likes long walks, endless fetch and playtime, or quiet companionship, I am more than happy to meet them where they're most comfortable. 🐾 For the summer months, my availability is wide open! Weekdays and weekends as needed. As a middle school teacher, I provide care and compassion no matter the day. During the "back to school season" - I will still prioritize the care needed regardless, and will make scheduling work to the best of my ability! I have a big fenced in yard for my three dogs at home. For drop-in visits, walks, and check-ins, I provide the absolute best care given the environment (Fresh water, food, and playtime always). With NC heat, I make sure to prioritize pet health and wellness alongside their happiness. Each animal is unique and I make sure to take all factors and needs into consideration with each visit! ❤️

About: I have 5 cats of my own as well as a small dog, and I cherish all animals. I have been petsitting for family and friends since I was about 10, and am flexibly available to take care of your babies when you need. I'm a high-school senior about to graduate, so during the summer I will have plenty of free time to devote to taking care of your animals! I will do anything requested of me regarding caring for your pets in your home, including keeping them company, going on walks, and giving them plenty of love.
About: Most of my experience is with dogs of friends or co-workers. I generally keep their dogs at their place where they are most comfortable and take them out frequently for walks/runs or whatever they'd like to do. So long as the dog is house trained and not on the "forbidden breed list" at the apartments I stay, they are welcome to my home too. I've sat a Pointer/Dalmation mix, Maltese mix, Shepherd mix, Chow Chow, Boxer, Cane Corso, and 2 Weimaraners in the past. My fulltime job is a nurse, and I only work 36 hours a week. I don't really consider pet sitting or walking a job because I love dogs so much. Just looking to make some extra income and maybe start my own business someday. I have a laid back personality and dogs tend to take to me immediately or at least stay true to their breeds. Chow Chow was my brother-in-law's dog who barked at me a good 3-4 times before she knew I wasn't a total stranger. Bothered me none.
About: I’ve had the joy to work with and own various types of animals throughout my life, from cats and dogs to exotics. I also have experience dealing with special needs and senior animals. I have worked in shelters and vet clinics; this experience gave me skills in administration of oral medication, working and managing multiple animals at once, identifying when an animal is feeling under the weather and understanding animal body language and cues. I completed multiple classes that allowed me to learn both hands on and through bookwork, to acquire my veterinary assisting certification. I have flexible availability all weekdays for drop ins, walks and doggy daycare. I am available for boarding weekdays and weekends. I may be away for a few hours daily, but someone will be home with your pet at all times. Care is tailored to you and your pet’s needs. When it comes to your fur-babies staying in my home, they will be kept separate from our animals, in their own space, which will provide a calmer and less stressful environment for your pet! I will require that each pet staying in my home have their own crate and any other personal things you would like to bring for them to make their stay as happy and comfortable as possible. If you have any special requirements or information that you would like to give me for your pet, I will happily accept and follow it. I understand and respect that every pet is different! All pets, whether boarding or doggy daycare, will get optimal amounts of supervised outside time. I have a large, fenced in back yard that is the perfect place for playtime! If you would prefer a leashed walk for your pet, there is a long, country road with tons of sights and smells for your pet to enjoy that we can walk together! After playtime, plenty of water and cuddles will be provided. They will have plenty of time outside of their crates to hang out with me and explore! If you would like a nail trim or a bath, just let me know before hand and I will be more than happy to do that for you. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
“Bell is reliable, attentive, friendly, and my dog loved her! He is a fearful and sometimes stubborn baby, she was able to get him out for walks on the first visit when it has often taken people multiple times to get to that point. She was very quick and thorough in her responses and put me at ease that my pup would be okay while I was out of town. We will definitely consider her again in the future!”

About: I’ve been having my dog since he was a baby, so I am really good with puppy’s with high and low energy. I love all animals I take care of, give them the same care and attention I do my baby. I do everything that you will ask me to do. When your baby’s in my care they are always safe. I work in children afterschool care at Lakewood ymca, since school is going to close for the summer that means I won’t have a job for the next three months. I will be free all days and weekends. I take care of a dog and a cat, I take my dog on daily walks twice/three times a day for his potty breaks. They both get fed 2 times a day and 2/47 playtime and love.
“Brynn was so wonderful with our babies! They love her. She sent all the pictures and updated us every step of the way. So glad we found her, we will definitely be booking her again in the near future!”

“I had a great experience with Kevin for walking Gazer! He always showed up exactly when scheduled, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Communication was excellent—he kept me updated before, during, and after each walk, and were very responsive to messages. I really appreciated his flexibility as well, especially when I needed to request additinal walks and adjust times on short notice. It made coordinating everything so much easier. One of my favorite parts was receiving photos from each walk—it was so reassuring to see Gazer happy enjlying his full 30 mins walks. I would absolutely recommend Kevin to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and caring dog walker!”

Lorraine is a great at helping to care for our pup! She has been taking him for walks while we are at work, and we always get great updates and photos from her. We feel good leaving Kev in her care and plan on using her services for as long as she continues to offer them.

Claire patiently and gently built trust with our recently rescued, young husky, Wheeler, who can be apprehensive with some people. She showed equal patience and skill walking this often stubborn teenager who can slow down a walk by obsessing over acorns and rolling around in grass. Claire is also a great communicator and shared many photos of their walk. She went the mile by setting Wheeler up with his beloved peanut butter kong treat in his kennel as requested. It was a relief to know he was in her care.

Arwen was super sweet and patient with Mallory! She showed up on time and spent the bulk of her time outside with Mal even on a super chilly day. She made me feel comfortable during our meet and greet that she could match Mallory's vibe while out on a walk whether that was logging a mile or two or just stopping and sniffing nature.

Ross has been really great with our fellas! Was very thorough at our meet and greet, making sure he knew what the dogs normal walk route was and even did a practice run with us to make sure the dogs walked well with him. He’s been with us for about 2 weeks now and everything has been great! Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
