“Anitra was so quick to respond! She would send me pup updates throughout the day. Seeing Sydney in a calm and loving place made my day easier knowing she was well taken care of and it was plus seeing the dog park right next to her home! Would highly recommended!!”

About: **PLEASE RESPOND IN TIMELY MANNER AFTER RECEIVE REPLY TO REQUEST. GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. 🙏🏾** I've taken care of family and friends' dogs since 2010, starting in Charlotte, NC. Longest I've kept one dog is for 2 weeks. I love taking care of dogs as if they were my own. Currently live in Durham, NC in my childhood home. I work from home, so I'm the perfect sitter that can entertain your dog while you're at work, away on vacay/trip, or just need some me time. I am a patient person and do have experience training a couple of dogs from not fearing their crate, knowing boundaries within house, and cease whining. I work from home Monday-Friday from 8-4:30 pm. I occasionally have appts and other events on the weekends, including attending church worship service. I'm at home the majority of the time. I have a pretty open concept in my house, but I close off doors to bedrooms and bathroom. I sometimes close off my hallway to keep in a secluded place in case of visitors or go to sleep at night. I take dogs out on leash, I currently do not have a fenced yard. I spend quality time with them and engage often and show plenty of love.
“Mocha had such a great experience today! Cathryn was kind and made sure mocha felt comfortable and cared for the entire time. I really appreciated the updates and the genuine love shown toward her. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. I would definitely book again and highly recommend her services.”

“Chelsea and David were amazing! When I picked up my pup, she was happy and tuckered out! I would definitely bring my girl back to them when I come back into town. Can't recommend enough!”

“Camila and Lino were great sitters. Great backyard for playtime that wore out my dog. Were very responsive to coordinate pick up/drop off times. Would highly recommend.”

“Ross is awesome and my dog comes home happy, healthy and tired after doggy daycare with him. He has been flexible and accommodated my last minute requests and it’s very appreciated! 5 stars! ⭐️”

“Vincent was very accommodating and responded quickly to my last minute request. He came out to greet us and the pups were comfortable with him immediately. He was very friendly and made sure everyone was harnessed and leashed for the short trip from the car to the fence. He has a nice fenced area for them to play and sent cute videos and photos. The pups appeared to have a great time and especially enjoyed their playtime with his two dachshunds! I will definitely use him again for daycare and drop-in visits.”

About: I grew up with two bigger dogs (German Shepard and chow/golden mix) and always had responsibility with taking care of them. Although I do not have any dogs of my own at the moment, I am always the first to watch my family and friends dogs such as Bernese mountain dog, doodles, Bassett Hound, and German Sheppards! In the last two years, I have been a recurring sitter for a doodle, chow, chocolate lab, and other breeds. All dogs were through friends, referrals, and people in our building so not many reviews on here but I am sure I can send their numbers if referrals are needed. I just moved to Durham but looking to help dog sit here and hope can find some new favorite dogs to sit:) I work hybrid, so I can schedule any meetings around bathroom/dog park breaks. I have experience taking dogs on multiple 2+ mile walks a day if needed. We have a couch cover, so happy for dogs to cuddle up on the couch! We have a fenced in back yard so can play together outside! Happy to have the dog sleep in the bedroom but prefer them off the bed if possible!
About: I’ve had dogs growing up all my life , and have my own dog currently ! I watch all of my friend’s dogs as my dog loves company, and I work from home most of the time . I am attentive and loving as I believe it takes a village to support animals ! I work mostly from home , with having to leave occasionally to go out into the field . My dogs needs are prioritized and when home she is let out to play or be outside every hour or more . I have a fenced in yard and one fur baby to keep your dog company! Xena is very friendly and loves to play, while also respecting boundaries of the dogs she is with .
“My little dog is usually quite timid and shy of people and other dogs. But she warmed up right away to Hope and even sat on her lap. it was nice to see how relaxed and reassuring Hope was with the dogs and I’m sure that was communicated to my little Glinda. Hope was very accommodating to my schedule, which I appreciate it very much. we will be back”

About: I’ve spent years caring for pets, including traveling to stay in people’s homes, and it genuinely never stops being a privilege. I adore animals so much. I’ve worked with pets who have special needs like diabetes, daily IV fluids, post-surgery care, blind or deaf companions, and seniors who just need a gentler touch. I have a 17-year-old dog of my own, so I’ve got a real soft spot for the elderly ones. I’m patient, attentive, and truly love being someone’s ‘stand-in human’ while they’re away. I work remotely and I’m a total homebody, so your pet would have company pretty much all day. I genuinely love being around animals, and I’d be thrilled to have your little one hanging out with me, soaking up all the attention and care they want. I’m an early riser, too, which makes my schedule super flexible for whatever your pet needs. I live in a cozy, secure studio in downtown Durham, just steps from some really lovely walking paths around Central Park. There’s a small dog park within easy walking distance, too. I’m also close to a vet, which gives a little extra peace of mind in case anything unexpected comes up. I have plenty of experience with special-needs pets, and honestly, they’re where my heart goes first.
“I was struggling to find someone to watch my dog on Thanksgiving, and luckily Bryan was able to step in with pretty short notice. Good communication, and Ollie seemed to have a great time playing and getting belly rubs from the family!”

“Teri was AMAZING! My dog Delilah is always super anxious around sitters, but she settled in very quickly with Teri. Teri was sweet, loving, kind, and gentle with my baby girl. Definitely a good pick!”
“Jade was the best! She is so sweet and caring, our puppy is only 6 months old with a lot of energy and growing so big and Jade watched her for several days in a row. She noticed multiple habits and quirks we forgot to mention and definitely developed a bond with our pup in the time she watched her. Jade was very intentional with updates which we appreciated overall we highly recommend, we would definitely book again (:”

“Jessica was amazing! Needed someone to watch my dog somewhat last minute and she rescued me! She made Brooklyn feel at home and was great at sending me updates. If/when I’m back in the Durham area, I would definitely book with her again!”

“My dog had a great daycare experience with Julie! She took excellent care of my dog and kept me updated with photos. He came home happy and relaxed—clearly well loved and exercised. I’d definitely trust her again and highly recommend!”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of care, attention, and consistency I provide. I don’t just “watch” dogs — I take the time to understand their routines, personalities, and comfort needs so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. I intentionally limit the number of dogs I care for at one time, allowing for individualized attention, a calm environment, and plenty of affection. In our home, dogs are surrounded by love — including from my daughter, who genuinely enjoys helping care for them and gives them extra cuddles, playtime, and attention. With regular updates, clear communication, and genuine care, every dog is treated like family — never just another booking. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I work from home full-time. This allows me to be present throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship—rather than leaving dogs alone for long stretches. I also have a small Yorkie at home, which helps keep our daily schedule consistent and structured, from regular potty breaks to walk times and meals. We’re lucky to have a nearby dog park that we walk to daily, giving dogs regular exercise, fresh air, and social enrichment as part of their routine. This established rhythm creates a calm, predictable environment where dogs can settle in quickly, while I remain available to supervise, respond to needs, and provide plenty of affection throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible to minimize stress, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and preferred play or rest times. I treat each home with respect and provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication so pet parents have peace of mind. In both settings, pets are cared for with patience, affection, and individualized attention—never rushed and never treated like just another booking.
Joyland dog parents share their Rover experiences
We had such an amazing experience with this sitter! They were so kind, super flexible, and incredibly understanding of all our needs. This was Momo’s very first sitting experience, and they made it so smooth and comfortable for him he truly enjoyed his time there. I really appreciate how accommodating and patient they were, which made us feel completely at ease. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs they look after. We’re so grateful and would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a loving and reliable sitter for their fur baby!

Blake is the best!! My dog, Bodey, absolutely LOVES her and has such a good time at doggy day care with her!! I work long shifts and Blake is super flexible and accommodating. She communicates promptly and effectively and takes such great care of Bodey. Bodey gets so excited to see her, and is happy and tired at the end of the day! I would highly recommend Blake.

Missi was amazing! She took great care of my two dogs while I was at work. She was very communicative and responsive, keeping us posted with updates and videos throughout the day. She was considerate of our dogs’ needs and took time to make sure my anxious dog felt comfortable, and I felt at ease with them in her care. Can’t recommend her enough!

Myla was great and saved me when something came up without a lot of advance warning. It’s automatically stressful to leave my pup in new places but Myla’s calm demeanor helped me relax and focus on my own plans. I’m just visiting the area and she even dealt with me confusing streets and directions when dropping off! Rio was wall cared for. I’d definitely reach out to Myla for help again.
