“Jessica took such great care of our Addie girl! We were needing care while we were out of town and Addie loved it. She had excellent communication and organization. She sent pictures regularly.”

“Yesel was wonderful! Our dog had a great time with her and her sweet dog Ripley. She was also super flexible and understanding with coordinating pick-up and drop-off plans when we ran into some scheduling issues with our house sitter. It was clear that she was experienced and comfortable with dogs and caring for them. We will definitely contact her again!”

“Jill is always absolutely amazing to work with! Luna loves Jill and she feels right at home every time she goes over for pet sitting! Thank God for Jill and her gifts to connect and treat my furbaby like family!! I love the pics, videos and updates throughout the day!! Just PERFECTION!!!”

“Have to get on the road here but wanted to hop on to say that Paul is the best! Drop off and pick up went well and my dog looked happy in the photos he sent and when I picked her up she seemed so comfortable in his home. Great yard for energetic dogs and Paul is kind and amiable. Would definitely consider working with him again 👍🏾”

“Brad communicated quickly and clearly before the sitting date. They asked good questions about her schedule at drop off and Maisli was as content as could be when I picked her up. Pictures were also provided which show she had a great time cuddling with members of the family. Would certainly feel safe leaving her with Brad and his family any time.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 10 years old. Taking care of pets is something I truly enjoy and do with love and attention. Family, friends, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and bathe their dogs for years. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and ages, and I treat every pet like part of the family. Pet care is part of my everyday life. I enjoy caring for animals and easily make time in my routine to walk, feed, and give them attention. I care for pets by following their usual routine as closely as possible. I make sure they’re fed on time, walked regularly, and given lots of love and attention. Whether in my home or the client’s, I keep the environment safe, clean, and comfortable.
About: I'm not a professional with fancy certifications, but I am a dog person. I owned and raised my pit mix from puppyhood for 13 years—so I know what it takes to care for a dog properly, keep them happy, and build real trust. The biggest advantage? I work from home. That means while I'm watching your dog, they're never alone for long stretches. They get consistent attention, regular breaks outside, and someone who actually cares about their wellbeing—not just a checkbox on a care log. Your dog won't just be watched; they'll be treated like they matter to me, because they will. I work from home, which is the real game-changer here. Pet sitting isn't a side hustle for me—it's something I can genuinely fit into my day without it feeling rushed or like a checklist. When I'm watching your dog, I can check in throughout the day, take them out for bathroom breaks, keep them company during work calls (the calm kind), and make sure they're getting the attention they need. No long gaps where they're waiting alone wondering when someone's coming back. It's flexible too. I can work around your schedule—early morning, afternoons, weekends—because I'm home anyway. Your dog gets consistency and care without me having to squeeze them into an already-packed day. In my home: Your dog gets a safe, comfortable space where they're never alone for long. I work from home, so I'm there throughout the day—letting them out for bathroom breaks, keeping them company, and making sure they have water and a calm environment. They'll be treated like they're part of my routine, not an inconvenience. In your home: I respect your space and your dog's routine. I follow your instructions on feeding, walking, medication, or anything else specific to your dog's needs. I'll send updates so you know exactly what's happening, and I treat your home with the same care I'd want for mine. Either way: Safety and trust are everything to me. I know what it's like to care deeply about a dog—I had mine for 13 years. Your dog won't just be fed and let outside; they'll get genuine attention and someone who actually notices if something's off.
“Anitra was so quick to respond! She would send me pup updates throughout the day. Seeing Sydney in a calm and loving place made my day easier knowing she was well taken care of and it was plus seeing the dog park right next to her home! Would highly recommended!!”

“My pups had a great time with Vincent! They don’t usually warm up so quick, but they seemed right at home from the very start. They have a great outdoor setup and their dogs were soo sweet, too! We will definitely be reaching out again!”

“Shan was fantastic! We had a great experience using her for daycare and will absolutely use her in the future for boarding. She was so sweet to our nervous dog and made her feel comfortable quickly. Ruby had a great day with Shan and Coffee!”

“Shannon did an incredible job taking care of our pup, Theo, for multiple daycare stays. She kept me updated with how he was adjusting + the best pictures/videos, shared homemade treats, and took him on regular walks. I appreciated that she works from home and could quickly tell she’s a natural dog person who just gets it. Not to mention her home is a dog’s paradise with a large fenced in backyard, gated front porch away from a main road, and the sweetest easy-going dogs of her own that welcomed Theo with open paws. I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook with Shannon & would whole heartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter. I truly felt like she treated Theo as her own 🩵”

About: I have raised both of my dogs! I also had a rescue before them and found a puppy and cared for it in 2019. I think for me even finding pet care for my own babies, I struggle to actually find people I can fully trust that they fervently would prevent anything from happening to them and care is easy and enjoyable for them. I currently am building my own other business from home so I have lots of availability! I travel for the business around the city so I dont mind driving at all. I of course do have to juggle my own pups, and schedule in general but I am a very SHOW UP type person! 🙌🏽❤️ I have a small fenced in yard where I pick up the waste 2x a day. I am pretty OCD, and live clean, but you know how it is with dogs. My dogs play all day together and I already walk them 1 long walk a day and lots of playtime outside and inside. My pups would either have to come with me, or you come to us. Millo my patchy white one is a bumblebee! He gets along with all dogs, he is fixed. Graceyn will soon be fixed, I would never have dogs here if she was in heat, but because she’s Border Collie/Aussie sometimes she’s my challenge child. We go to the dog park multiple times a week and she does great, so only will retaliate if shes given a reason to, but she’s an absolute lovey girl. I am very capable of walking multiple dogs. Graceyn gets so excited on the leash she is a little bit reactive, but I can walk Millo and a guest dog for example.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
