“Silas was amazing with my cat! I came home to happy kitty who I could tell was well taken care of. He sent detailed updates with lots of pictures which I really appreciated! Would definitely book again!”

“Amber is a fantastic sitter. She is friendly, very responsible, responsive and communicative. I felt my cats were well cared for and really it eased my worries during my trip. I will hire her again!”

“Miki is the best! Without hesitation she was willing to work with my specific needs with my dog and was so dog smart and lovely :) I look forward to her taking care of Lucia in the future”

“Michelle is excellent - the most patient and reliable sitter. One of our pups is a bit particular about people coming into the house, but Michelle has done great to ensure that he feels comfortable and can trust her. We are so grateful!”

“Laura took such good care of our cat Finnegan! He is very shy, but from the very beginning he was comfortable around her, a testament to her great cat energy. Laura was super responsive and sent us lots of pics while we were away. 10/10 recommend!!”

“Charles was incredibly helpful and wonderful for us. We needed someone last-second who could medicate an elderly, cranky cat who has never taken meds well, and he somehow got them into her every day for two weeks, and she still loved him! That’s a person who understands kitties. She knew he was there to help. I like to think I know cats, but Charles is on another level. It was a three-ring circus at times but he was always kind and communicative. He made Luna comfortable and eased everyone’s minds. Can’t say enough great things.”

“Anne took great care of Pooh while we were gone. She sent detailed updates and pictures of their walks. We came home to a happy dog. I appreciate her reliability and her willingness to take on a last minute sitting request. We had a great experience with Anne.”
About: What sets me apart is that caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I’ve grown up around animals and truly believe they are family, not just pets. I treat every animal with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I’ve cared for pets with all kinds of personalities and at different stages of life, including my senior dog Jacob (11). Having an older dog has taught me to be patient, notice the little things, and make sure pets are comfortable and cared for as they get older. I’ve also worked with my dog Atlas, who has had some behavioral challenges. Helping him over the years has taught me that every animal is different and that trust, consistency, and patience go a long way. I enjoy taking the time to understand each pet and what helps them feel safe and happy. Since I have a multi-pet household with dogs, cats, and birds, I’m comfortable with different routines and different types of care. I know every pet has their own personality, habits, and needs. The biggest thing that sets me apart is that I truly care about the animals I look after. I don’t just show up to feed them—I want to build a connection with them, make them feel comfortable, and give them the same care and love I would want someone to give my own pets. Pet care is a part of my everyday routine. Every day, I feed my three dogs, two cats, and two parakeets, make sure they always have fresh water, and spend time playing with and caring for them. My dogs get regular walks and outdoor time, and I love taking them on hikes whenever I can. My cats get plenty of attention, playtime, and enrichment, and I make sure their litter boxes stay clean. I also care for my parakeets by cleaning their cage, refreshing their food and water, and giving them time to interact and explore. Because caring for animals is already part of my daily life, adding your pet to my routine feels. I’ll make sure they receive the same love, attention, and care that I give my own pets. I care for every pet like they are my own because I truly believe pets are family. Every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I love taking the time to understand what makes each one feel safe and happy. At home, I care for my three dogs, Jacob (11), Luna (7), and Atlas (8), my two cats, Stinky (5) and Kiwi (6), and my two parakeets, Suki and Dewy. My dogs get lots of attention, exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures like walks and hikes. Luna has had some behavioral challenges, which has taught me a lot about patience, consistency, and understanding that every animal learns and grows at their own pace. Seeing how much she has improved over the years has shown me how important love and patience are when caring for pets. My cats, Stinky and Kiwi, have completely different personalities, and that’s one of the things I love most about cats. I enjoy playing with them, keeping them entertained, cleaning litter boxes, and making sure they have a comfortable and happy environment. I also have experience caring for my parakeets, Suki and Dewy. I’m comfortable with feeding them, cleaning their cage, changing their water, and making sure they get attention and enrichment. While I haven’t owned larger birds, I’m always willing to learn and make sure I understand each pet’s needs. When caring for your pets in your home, I’ll respect their routine and follow your instructions closely. My goal is to make your pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away, and to give them the same care and attention I give my own pets because I know how much they mean to your family.
About: I’ve been dog sitting since I was 17 and have cared for 20+ dogs for family and family friends. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, administering oral medications, overnight stays, long-term house sitting, and taking dogs to appointments when needed. I also spend a lot of time at home during house sits because I know most dogs are happiest when they have company. I treat every dog like they’re my own and always do my best to keep them happy, comfortable, and sticking to their normal routine while you’re away. Pet care fits easily into my routine! I work mornings and usually get off around 1 PM, so I’m available most afternoons and evenings for walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your pets. I also offer overnight stays and make it a priority to spend plenty of time at home, so your pets get lots of attention and companionship while you’re away. I know every pet has their own routine, and I do my best to stick to it so they feel comfortable while you’re away. I’ll follow your care instructions closely, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, or bedtime routines.
“Bianca was so sweet, consistent, and responsive! She always took such funny and cute pictures of my dog during her drop-ins and was such a trooper with my girl’s nervous tinkles. Would absolutely book again and recommend!!”

“Meaghan was extremely attentive to my cats behavior and needs, and was extremely responsive and communicative via the Rover app. I truly appreciated her thoroughness, care and love she gave my kitties!”

“Rosa dropped in and walked my anxious dog during the day while I was out of town. She sent detailed updates after each drop in, which eased my mind as I was far from home. She followed all instructions perfectly. I would absolutely reach out to Rosa again in the future.”

“Ryana and Safiyah were amazing! This was my first time working with Rover and I was not disappointed. Ryana is professional, kind, and thorough. She provided photos (and even videos) when my little one finally chose to come out of hiding and it was clear that Cleo felt comfortable with her and her partner, which put me at such ease. Though Cleo is friendly, she is slow to warm with strangers, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Cleo played with her toy with her. I will most certainly be working with her again and am so appreciative of her care of Cleo while I was away for the weekend.”

“Emily was absolutely wonderful. She was excited to watch my furbaby and my Bohdi fell in love with her when they met. She sent pictures and kept me updated on his behavior. I definitely will re-book her.”

“Jessica did an extraordinary job of taking care of my cat! She spent a lot of extra time sitting with him and playing with him while I was away. She also leaves incredibly informative Rover cards and pays attention to every detailed instruction. I will absolutely ask Jessica to care for my cat the next time I am out of town!”

About: Since I was little, I've been caring for animals ranging from dogs and cats to fish and guinea pigs. I find so much joy in doing so that I studied both animal and wildlife sciences so I can make animal care my life. Whether in a clinical or personal setting, my clients are always pleased with the services that I provide their animals with. I'm currently a college graduate living back home as I take time before pursuing a Master's program. Because I work full-time as a veterinary assistant, my calendar is only accurate between 2-4 weeks out. However, I promise to do my best to be available to care for your pet! While I limit my pet care to my clients' homes, I do still take measures to ensure the animals' safety and wellbeing. The house doors will remain locked, I'm open to crating an animal if I'm not present, and they will be leashed at all times on walks as it is the law. Additionally I'm acquainted with plenty of veterinarians should your pet require any emergency medical attention.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Blands
Katie took wonderful care of our cat with medical needs. She went the extra mile to make sure our cat took her medication and was able to administer IV fluids as well. She was very responsive to messages and sent photos while we were gone. Very impressed with the quality of care!

I was in a desperate situation — unplanned travel over the Christmas and NYE holidays and my long time pet sitter wasn’t available. Diana to the rescue!! I was a nervous wreck but after the first visit by Diana, I immediately felt at ease. Her communication was stellar and her updates with photos was reassuring. I would not hesitate to request her services again in the future.

Claire took super great care of my cat and kept all areas (litter, food) clean and tidy. She’s very responsive and attentive to instructions. My shy cat very quickly felt comfortable with her. I had her care for my cat for 10 days and check ins were always detailed and consistent.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Blands. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
