“Michelle was wonderful. She accepted a last minute job to drop in on my puppy very early in the mornings and late at night while I worked night shift. She was extremely punctual and kept me in the loop about feedings, potty breaks, walks, and playtime. She sent adorable photos. I am so appreciative of her and will 100% rebook in the future. Thank you Michelle!”

“Thank you so much! Everything went great when Laura dropped-in on our cats while we were away. We felt secure knowing that someone was checking on them and she always sent pictures and updates. Laura is the best!”

“Yang was great. She came in last minute and got to know my kitties so quick and did everything they love to do ! and when I came home, the kitties didn’t seem to miss me at all!🤣😳”

“Bianca did an amazing job taking care of my Rottweiler Bronco and my Maine Coon Luna! It was a pretty stressful prospect to have a pet sitter watch them, as Bronco was in the process of recovering from a pretty bad stomach issue. Bianca’s high level of communication and gentleness with both animals eased my concerns immediately. She did such a good job that Bronco was feeling and looking even better than the day I left. I highly recommend Bianca for any anxious pet parent!”

About: What sets me apart is that caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I’ve grown up around animals and truly believe they are family, not just pets. I treat every animal with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I’ve cared for pets with all kinds of personalities and at different stages of life, including my senior dog Jacob (11). Having an older dog has taught me to be patient, notice the little things, and make sure pets are comfortable and cared for as they get older. I’ve also worked with my dog Atlas, who has had some behavioral challenges. Helping him over the years has taught me that every animal is different and that trust, consistency, and patience go a long way. I enjoy taking the time to understand each pet and what helps them feel safe and happy. Since I have a multi-pet household with dogs, cats, and birds, I’m comfortable with different routines and different types of care. I know every pet has their own personality, habits, and needs. The biggest thing that sets me apart is that I truly care about the animals I look after. I don’t just show up to feed them—I want to build a connection with them, make them feel comfortable, and give them the same care and love I would want someone to give my own pets. Pet care is a part of my everyday routine. Every day, I feed my three dogs, two cats, and two parakeets, make sure they always have fresh water, and spend time playing with and caring for them. My dogs get regular walks and outdoor time, and I love taking them on hikes whenever I can. My cats get plenty of attention, playtime, and enrichment, and I make sure their litter boxes stay clean. I also care for my parakeets by cleaning their cage, refreshing their food and water, and giving them time to interact and explore. Because caring for animals is already part of my daily life, adding your pet to my routine feels. I’ll make sure they receive the same love, attention, and care that I give my own pets. I care for every pet like they are my own because I truly believe pets are family. Every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I love taking the time to understand what makes each one feel safe and happy. At home, I care for my three dogs, Jacob (11), Luna (7), and Atlas (8), my two cats, Stinky (5) and Kiwi (6), and my two parakeets, Suki and Dewy. My dogs get lots of attention, exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures like walks and hikes. Luna has had some behavioral challenges, which has taught me a lot about patience, consistency, and understanding that every animal learns and grows at their own pace. Seeing how much she has improved over the years has shown me how important love and patience are when caring for pets. My cats, Stinky and Kiwi, have completely different personalities, and that’s one of the things I love most about cats. I enjoy playing with them, keeping them entertained, cleaning litter boxes, and making sure they have a comfortable and happy environment. I also have experience caring for my parakeets, Suki and Dewy. I’m comfortable with feeding them, cleaning their cage, changing their water, and making sure they get attention and enrichment. While I haven’t owned larger birds, I’m always willing to learn and make sure I understand each pet’s needs. When caring for your pets in your home, I’ll respect their routine and follow your instructions closely. My goal is to make your pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away, and to give them the same care and attention I give my own pets because I know how much they mean to your family.
“Allison was great! She has done 2 drop-in visits for my pup so far and both have gone smoothly. She is very kind, thorough and quick to respond with details about their time together. I look forward to having her come back in the future!”

“Anne took great care of Pooh while we were gone. She sent detailed updates and pictures of their walks. We came home to a happy dog. I appreciate her reliability and her willingness to take on a last minute sitting request. We had a great experience with Anne.”
About: Being extremely attached to my own dog and cats, I understand how hard it is to be away from them! You can rest easy, I will care for your animals as if they were my own. Big and small, cat and dog, I love them all! Please note: I only accept dogs in my home for boarding that have been around cats and are known to be cat-friendly. I work a flexible schedule, and come check on your pets morning, evening and possibly also mid-day. Let me know what you need and I will make it work. I can either come to your house to let your pet stay in his/her own environment or if they come to my house to stay, they will join my menagerie for their visit. I have kitties, so they must be cat-friendly. At my house, the day starts with a potty break in my fenced yard, followed by a 20-minute walk either in the morning or at lunch time. There is a second walk of a at least 20-minutes after work around 7 and potty breaks, pets and treats on my work breaks. There are pet beds all over the house, kitties to play with and my dog Sadie (a mix, around 50lbs). My pets range at night but guest pets have to be crated at bedtime. I can put the crate in my bedroom if it will make your pet more comfortable.

About: Since I was little, I've been caring for animals ranging from dogs and cats to fish and guinea pigs. I find so much joy in doing so that I studied both animal and wildlife sciences so I can make animal care my life. Whether in a clinical or personal setting, my clients are always pleased with the services that I provide their animals with. I'm currently a college graduate living back home as I take time before pursuing a Master's program. Because I work full-time as a veterinary assistant, my calendar is only accurate between 2-4 weeks out. However, I promise to do my best to be available to care for your pet! While I limit my pet care to my clients' homes, I do still take measures to ensure the animals' safety and wellbeing. The house doors will remain locked, I'm open to crating an animal if I'm not present, and they will be leashed at all times on walks as it is the law. Additionally I'm acquainted with plenty of veterinarians should your pet require any emergency medical attention.
“Amber is a fantastic sitter. She is friendly, very responsible, responsive and communicative. I felt my cats were well cared for and really it eased my worries during my trip. I will hire her again!”

“Silas was amazing with my cat! I came home to happy kitty who I could tell was well taken care of. He sent detailed updates with lots of pictures which I really appreciated! Would definitely book again!”

“I am so thankful for Hattie’s service. She did a wonderful job checking in with me and sending me photos of my boys while I was out of town. They can be difficult sometimes and she did a great job handling them. I will definitely rebook her services next time I am out of town.”
“Had a great sitter experience with Emily over the holidays! She was responsive, followed all directions. And took great care of the cats. I always look for sitters that have cat experience and are reliable. Emily was wonderful and my shy cat loved her when he normally hides for others. The cats and my home were in great shape when I got home!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Blands
This was my first time leaving my 6 month old kittens overnight so I was a little nervous, especially because they can be timid around "strangers." Within the first couple of drop-in visits they were feeling comfortable with Alice, and she sent me plenty of updates and photos to ease my mind while I was gone. Will definitely use Alice next time I have to go away!
Katie took wonderful care of our cat with medical needs. She went the extra mile to make sure our cat took her medication and was able to administer IV fluids as well. She was very responsive to messages and sent photos while we were gone. Very impressed with the quality of care!

I was in a desperate situation — unplanned travel over the Christmas and NYE holidays and my long time pet sitter wasn’t available. Diana to the rescue!! I was a nervous wreck but after the first visit by Diana, I immediately felt at ease. Her communication was stellar and her updates with photos was reassuring. I would not hesitate to request her services again in the future.

Claire took super great care of my cat and kept all areas (litter, food) clean and tidy. She’s very responsive and attentive to instructions. My shy cat very quickly felt comfortable with her. I had her care for my cat for 10 days and check ins were always detailed and consistent.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Blands. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
