Availability
As a teacher currently on summer break, I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to provide consistent and reliable pet care throughout the week, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. I am available for morning, midday, and evening walks or drop-in visits, and I can adjust my schedule to meet your pet’s routine as closely as possible. I am especially flexible during the summer months, which allows me to take on both short visits and longer house-sitting stays. I prioritize clear communication and will always work to ensure your pet is cared for at their usual feeding, walking, and play times so their routine stays consistent and stress-free.

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priority is always safety, routine, and respect for both the pet and the home. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walk routines, medication needs, and any specific behavioral notes. I understand that every pet is different, and I take the time to learn their personality, triggers, and comfort level so they feel secure while their owner is away. I am attentive during visits and walks, making sure pets are always supervised and never placed in unsafe situations. I am comfortable caring for high-energy dogs and understand the importance of exercise, structure, and positive reinforcement to keep them calm and engaged. I currently have my own dog, a cattle breed mix named Sully, so I am familiar with managing active dogs and maintaining a safe, structured environment. I also treat every client’s home with respect, keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as I found it. My goal is to provide pet owners with peace of mind through consistent communication, reliability, and dependable care at all times.
Information Alexander H. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for any pet, I think it is very important to understand their routine, personality, and any special needs ahead of time. This includes feeding schedules, walking habits, energy level, favorite activities, and any behavioral traits such as anxiety, reactivity, or shyness around new people or other animals. I also make sure to ask about medical needs, including medications, allergies, and any health conditions, as well as emergency contact information and the location of their veterinarian. If a pet has specific triggers (like leash pulling, fear of loud noises, or separation anxiety), I want to be aware of those so I can keep them comfortable and safe. My goal is always to maintain consistency with the pet’s normal routine so they feel secure while their owner is away. Clear communication with owners is very important to me, and I always appreciate detailed instructions so I can provide the best possible care.
A typical day
A typical day caring for pets depends on their individual needs, energy level, and routine, but I always focus on keeping them comfortable, active, and happy. For dogs, I usually start with a walk to help them get exercise and settle into a routine for the day. I make sure they have fresh water, are fed on schedule, and get plenty of attention and interaction. For more energetic dogs, I enjoy longer walks, playtime like fetch, or mental stimulation games that keep them engaged and help release energy in a positive way. For calmer or older pets, I focus on gentle walks, companionship, and making sure they feel safe and relaxed. Throughout the day, I also make time for check-ins, potty breaks, and photos/updates for the owner so they always know how their pet is doing. My goal is to make sure pets feel like they are on a fun, consistent routine while their owners are away, with plenty of exercise, affection, and care tailored to their personality.

Pet care experience
As a licensed teacher and experienced caregiver, I bring a level of responsibility, communication, and attention to detail that pet owners can trust. My professional experience has taught me how to be patient, observant, and dependable while caring for individuals with different needs and routines. I am also a dog owner myself and understand how important it is to have someone reliable caring for your pet when you're away. I currently have a cattle breed mix named Sully, who is a great high-energy dog. Caring for him has given me hands-on experience with active dogs who need structure, exercise, and mental stimulation. I’m very comfortable handling high-energy breeds and making sure they get the physical activity and engagement they need to stay happy and well-behaved. I am comfortable following detailed care instructions, administering oral medications, maintaining feeding and walking schedules, and providing regular updates with photos and messages. Whether your pet is energetic like Sully or prefers a slower pace and extra attention, I adapt my care to fit their personality and needs. During the summer, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide consistent, attentive care and plenty of one-on-one time with your pets. My goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for throughout every visit.
Reviews

Alex was a great dog sitter! Very friendly, easy to work with and communicated well. Took great care of our dog Maple, our 2 chickens, and our home while we were gone for 10 days. I would definitely rebook in the future!

Alexander was a terrific dogsitter for our high-energy 3-1/2 year old Black Lab. We appreciated his immediate response to our Rover request when we were called out of town on short notice. He set our minds at ease as we could see how quickly Zoey took to him. Alexander posted photos and videos for us while we were away, which was such a comfort. We will definitely plan to ask for him again!

Alexander did an amazing job with my fur-son Axel who is also my son! He is very communicative, flexible, kind, and I can tell Axel was under good care! I would highly recommend his services. Thanks so much!

I had to book a last minute rover visit and Alexander was the perfect sitter! Very attentive and communicative, will definitely book again in the future.
