Safety, trust & environment
I value giving my own dog healthy exercise and one-on-one time everyday. We do all sorts of activities from basic training, long walks, playing with toys and frisbees, to snuggling, grooming, and lounging.
Information Taylor J. would like to know about your pet
I love when owners are able to clearly articulate their dog’s needs. If your dog likes to have a strict routine, prefers to play with a specific toy, or really needs white noise to sleep well, those are details that I’m happy to receive!
A typical day
I try to meet the dogs’ needs by providing both physical and mental stimulation, anticipating when they might need to play, potty, etc. I like to start by getting some energy out either through a long walk or playing with toys or a tennis ball. Long walks in shaded nature is great for lots of sniffing and mental stimulation too!

Experienced, friendly, & reliable!
Pet care experience
I am currently on sabbatical from my PhD living and dog walking in Durham. I’ve personally cared for animals my entire life including many dogs, cats, horses, and others. I also have a dog at home, a rescue mutt named Cricket who is reactive, so I have a good deal of experience with anxious pets. I am very communicative, reliable, and have a flexible schedule. I value providing a safe, engaging environment for pets, meeting their needs, and respecting the cleanliness and privacy of your home. In general, I enjoy spending time with animals and tend to have a calming presence with them! I worked as an Animal Caretaker at a vet for over a year when I was younger (lots of experiencing handling, cleaning, and administering meds). I love walking, playing, petting and even training basic and more advanced obedience skills. I’ve worked with many different types of dogs, especially working breeds and feel confident and comfortable working with dogs with “high-maintenance” needs. I’ve also sitted for less traditional pets including pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, parrots, and fish!
Reviews

Taylor did a great job - her fantastic reviews are deserved! My pets warmed up to her much more than usual, she has the magic touch. Grateful for her communication and attention to detail.

Taylor is great with our dogs and very reliable!

Taylor has been the best! Zorro looks forward to their walks and literally pulls Taylor out of the building without looking back. I’m so grateful we found Taylor and Zorro cant wait to see her again soon!

Taylor was great! Took great care of my cat and providing cute photos and good updates on how she is doing while I was gone. Very responsive as well!
