“Suzie took great care of our kitties while we were away for a week. We are repeat customers and love that she has gotten to know our pets over the months. She sends lots of fun pictures and pays attention to details while taking care of the kitties and dog. Highly recommend!”

“This was our first time using a pet sitter that we didn’t know personally and it was a great experience. We appreciated the care and updates that Larry provided and would be happy to use him again in the future!”

“So good to my girl!!! She loved seeing him and he made an effort to meet her before our trip. Super communicative and i loved getting all the pictures!! About: For the past year I've been pet sitting for friends and clients. I take care of the feeding, walks, and playtime, and I stick to whatever routine your pet is used to. I set my own work hours, so it's pretty easy for me to fit pet care in. I'm usually free weekday evenings and weekends and I'm happy to plan visits around whatever your pet's used to. Since I have two dogs myself, I know all about that stuff. You can be assured that your dog will get his food on time, he will get enough potty stops and play as well. My backyard is fenced / I walk him always on the leash, and I will be checking all the doors and gates each time.
“We needed help socializing our dog that we adopted that was a stray. Anytime people come over, she will bark at them nonstop until they leave. It took Bug 6 full hour sessions with our trainer before she was okay being around him. It only took 15 minutes for her to warm up to Mollie! We can't recommend her enough! She is very patient and pays attention to all the little quirks!”

“She was so sweet, and Teddy absolutely loved her! She was always on time and went above and beyond what was expected. I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such good hands while we were away. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

About: I’ve been caring for my own pets since I was around 8 years old, so I have nearly 27 years of hands-on experience with animals. Taking care of pets has always been a part of my life, and I understand how important it is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs and personality. I know that pets are family, and I would treat every pet in my care with the same love, attention, and respect that I give my own. I want pet owners to feel confident and at ease knowing their furry family members are in good hands! Pet care is a priority for me, as I’m currently building my own pet care business and am excited to grow my experience and connect with more pet owners through Rover. I have the flexibility to make pet sitting and pet care a consistent part of my daily schedule, allowing me to give each pet the time, attention, and care they deserve. I understand how important reliability and consistency are, and I’m committed to working with pet owners to find a schedule that meets their pets’ needs while providing loving, dependable care. When caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping them safe, comfortable, and happy in their familiar environment. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, fresh water, potty breaks, playtime, and any specific routines or needs their pets may have. I make sure doors, gates, and other areas are secure, and I always keep a close eye on pets during my visits. I also respect each client’s home and keep everything clean and tidy. My goal is to make every visit as stress-free as possible while giving pets plenty of love, attention, and companionship. I want owners to have peace of mind knowing their pets are in caring, responsible hands while they’re away.

“We loved having Elaine check on our doggy! She was very sweet and took great care of our dog while we were gone. I appreciated her kindness and attentiveness since our dog was a little anxious while we were away.”

About: I have been caring for my own cats for 11 years. I have 5 cats: Rocket & Sparkles (14) Enzo (2) Annie (1.5) Ivy (11 months). Throughout the years I have had to administer medications such as liquid and pill gabapentin, insulin injections, antibiotics, and topicals. For six months, I have been administering insulin injections to my senior cat Rocket who has CKD and Diabetes. I have to be very methodical with how I feed them due to diet restrictions. With the experience I have gained from my own cats, I am very comfortable administering medications. I deeply care for all animals small or big, and their health and wellbeing are very important to me. I also worked for 3 months at a dog daycare in St. Augustine, FL, which was capable of boarding many dogs. In the mornings my cats get separated and fed specific diets according to their health needs. My Manx cat Ivy requires IBD food that doesn't inflame her condition. My senior cat Rocket gets his CKD food for his kidney condition. Rocket also requires insulin injections at the same time frame twice a day to maintain his diabetes. The health and safety of my animals and the animals I watch after are top priority for me. Whatever the instructions are from pet owners, I follow them with extreme attention to detail and I don't cut any corners. If I have to spend extra time completing a task, I do without rushing. I treat other people's homes and pets how I would want my pets and house to be treated.

About: I grew up in a multi pet household. I currently have a corgi named Finley who we give oral medication to daily and 3 cats named Jeepers, banana bread, and George. Finley is leash reactive so I understand how to diffuse any stressful situations while keeping your dog safe. I use rover often so I understand the importance of having a trust worthy person take care of your fur baby. Emma and I work nightshift so we are able to do late night drop ins such as making sure your fur baby isn't alone in the dark or going for a late night walk before bed. We are also home when you are at work so if you need a midday walk or fetch session, we are your gals! Either Emma, Mary, or both of us will be present for your fur babies. Emma has crate trained her dog so we understand if your dog needs to be in their crate for their safety and comfort. We will communicate when we arrive, how the walk went, send pictures, and if there is any additional help we can provide.

About: I’m in my 50s and truly love animals and being outdoors. I’ve had pets since I was a child and enjoy walking. I’m caring, patient, responsible, and will treat every dog like my own. I’m working in third shift and I’m fully available during the day. I’m also open to work on weekend as I’m free. Your pet’s safety is my top priority. I always stay attentive, use a secure leash, watch their surroundings, and make sure they are comfortable.

I've never left my dog before & was anxious about leaving her. I reached out to Larry & after meeting him & LIlly I felt totally confident that she would be in good hands ! My pug took to him right away. LIlly is a sweetheart & Olive liked her too. My pug was well taken taken care of & I got daily updates & pics. I will definitely use Larry again & I highly recommend him if your looking for a loving, caring petsitter. He's the Best!

Courtney has taken care of my dog, Kala, several times, and every experience has been amazing. She always keeps me updated with messages and photos, goes above and beyond, and truly treats Kala like her own. I always come home to a happy dog and a spotless house. I completely trust Courtney and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!

Ashley was amazing! She watched our dogs while we were out of the country and was very communicative. She was consistent with visit times and sent pictures each time. We felt super comfortable and were able to relax on vacation knowing our dogs were taken care of! Highly recommend!

Brittany is so sweet and wonderful with my dogs. She took really wonderful care of my senior dog during drop in visits towards the end of her life and I was thrilled to bring her back years later to do drop in visits with my new puppy. She is kind, a great communicator, takes the cutest pictures of my dogs, and I would highly recommend her!

I was a little nervous to use a new dog sitter for my 2 big dogs but right away Cody stood out from the rest. He came over to meet Zuko and Krypto and I was immediately was at ease. It was obvious Cody was a natural fit for them. Cody dropped in while we were on vacation, gave me daily report cards and pictures of the dogs which I really appreciated. I know the dogs loved him! It was nice to not worry about them while we were gone! We will definitely be using Cody again, thank you!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
