“I am glad I contacted Mr. Gregorio to take care of Brownie!!! He always kept in touch with us, sending us photos and videos!!! I am sure Brownie felt right at home!!! He took care of her and served her with great care... I definitely hope to have his availability for future occasions. Thank you, Mr. Gregorio!!! ☺️”

“I hate to send this glowing review because I want to keep Pam’s schedule open just for me!! ? She literally is an answer to prayer. Being newly empty nesters, we’ve been wanting to take several short trips but had no one to keep our 10 year old dog. She’s never been boarded so we didn’t want to go that route. We found Pam through Rover and booked with her because of the rave reviews. And, she was better than any of our expectations. She LOVED on our girl, sent pics and updates every day, and Lexi came home so happy, healthy, and with no separation anxiety. We feel so blessed to have found Pam and her husband Dave was awesome with Lexi as well. Thank you so much!!!”

“They were very flexible with my last-minute time changes. Due to transportation issues, I had to change drop off times twice. I love the pictures sent to me while away.”

“My dog had the best time staying at Brianna’s with their dog Willow for the week! Brianna kept great communication with tons of pictures that helped make my week away stress free. I would definitely recommend and will be using her again for future trips!”

“Amber was great with my pup! He had a blast with her, and I really appreciated all the pictures and videos she sent to keep me updated. I felt comfortable knowing he was in good hands. Highly recommend her!”

“Sarah did a WONDERFUL job taking care of our sweet Mabel. It was our first time leaving her, so we had nerves. Sarah took great care of Mabel - lots of love and attention, keeping to her schedule, frequent updates, and loving her as if she was her own. Mabel is young, and Sarah was very patient with her as she adjusted to her new environment. I would recommend Sarah to anyone.”

“Kelli and her family were so sweet. Katie was so well taken care of and loved cuddling with the family. I didn’t have to worry about anything. They were super accommodating.”
“Deanna is awesome. Her pets and her kids were perfect for playing with our pet. She is a pro at what she does. She has a lot of five star reviews for a reason. She’s the best.”

“Rebecca took amazing care of our dog! We needed someone a bit last minute and Rebecca was a great fit. We were able to leave for the weekend and know that Tugboat was well taken care of. We will definitely be asking her to watch him again!”

“Andrea was amazing! This was my first time ever using Rover and I am so pleased. I had I had to travel for work and I ended up getting a flat tire on the way home and she was understanding and amazing! I will be using her again!”

“Barbara was absolutely AMAZING! This was my first time since moving to a new city and leaving my dog with someone other than a family member. Barbara made me feel so comfortable to leave my dog with her, she erased all of my worries the moment I met her! It was clear how deeply she cared for animals and evident that she would take amazing care of any animal entrusted to her. Barbara sent me regular photos and updates on how my dog was doing, I never had to question or worry that my dog wasn't treated properly. I would highly recommend choosing Barbara as a sitter to anyone looking for someone to love on your pet for a while!”

“Renee was absolutely perfect with my Monty, which is a commendable feat; he’s a grumpy old man who doesn’t get along with many! She sent the cutest pictures and updates throughout and was so accommodating when my trip didn’t go as planned. Monty also made a new friend in her dog Oreo. Overall, 5 star experience and I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.”

About: I am always working from home and usually available. I take care of my own two elder cats and my newest 2 year old 75 lb ridgeback dog. I’ve taken care of plenty of family and friends pets before too. My dog is trained and gets along with others and I also have a huge fenced in yard filled with toys. I work from home full time which gives me a lot of time to walk, play, and sit all animals. My job is not very demanding but I do have meetings throughout the day. I take safety very seriously. My two cats are dog friendly and they are elderly so they will usually stay clear of any animals besides myself and my husband. My dog is very playful and I do let her outside in my closed fenced yard. I will always supervise play and watch over them as if they were my own.
“Milika did a wonderful job caring for my Moses. Got plenty of updates and pictures. She even accommodated his special food request, to ensure he wasn’t too sad to eat. Plenty of walks, playtime, and cuddles. 10/10 recommend.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Powhatan
Kamayla was absolutely amazing with my dog, Beau! I was away for several days, and she took great care of him, even with his separation anxiety. She kept me updated consistently with messages and pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was out of town. Her communication was excellent from start to finish, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about Beau’s well-being. I could tell he was in good hands the entire time. I would absolutely recommend Kamayla to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative pet sitter, and I will definitely be booking with her again in the future!

Brittany has been my go to for drop in visits for years now and showed the same level of care and communication when she took care of my dog over the weekend. She made sure my dog was comfortable and had plenty of snuggles and playtime, I would recommend her to anyone in need of pet care!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Powhatan home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Powhatan.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Powhatan sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
