About: What truly sets me apart is a lifetime of hands-on experience combined with deep instinctual empathy. Having cared for dogs for 17+ years, I am highly attuned to their body language, unique personalities, and emotional needs. I am flexible and can travel to different homes whether is Wake County or Johnston County! Special Skills I Bring to Your Home: Senior & Special Needs Comfort: My extensive experience means I have the deep patience required for aging dogs. I am familiar with maintaining strict medication schedules, managing low-mobility routines, and providing a calm, reassuring presence. Puppy Patience & Routine: I know how crucial consistency is for younger dogs. I will gladly reinforce your house-training rules, basic command structures, and positive behavior techniques. Anxious or Shy Dog Care: Because I understand dog behavior, I know how to give nervous pups their space to adjust, building trust gently at their own pace. Pet care fits seamlessly into my weekend routine as a focused part-time commitment. Availability: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM pickup. Service Options: Dog sitting at your home or overnight boarding at mine. Yard & Safety: Secure, fully fenced yard for safe outdoor exercise and play. Built-in Buddy: I have a calm, friendly medium-sized mixed pup, so your dog will always have gentle company and never feel alone." Boarding at My Home (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM) Safe Outdoor Play: Dogs enjoy frequent, supervised access to a secure, fully fenced yard for exercise, bathroom breaks, and fresh air. Built-in Companionship: My calm, friendly, medium-sized mixed dog provides gentle company so guest pups never feel lonely. Routine Continuity: I closely follow the owner’s regular feeding schedule, medication needs, and bedtime habits to keep stress low. Cozy Environment: Dogs have free access to comfortable resting areas inside the house, treated just like family members. Client Updates: Owners receive daily photo and text updates so they know their pet is relaxed and having fun. Daytime Care at the Client's Home (Fridays Starting at 5:00 PM & Weekends) Familiar Surroundings: Pets stay in their own comfortable environment, which is ideal for dogs that get anxious away from home. Tailored Attention: Each visit includes scheduled feedings, fresh water refills, potty breaks, neighborhood walks, and interactive play sessions. Home Care & Security: Beyond pet care, visits help keep the home secure by bringing in mail, rotating lights, and keeping everything tidy. Real-Time Check-Ins: I send quick updates and photos after visits to confirm arrival, activities, and departure.

About: I’ve been providing loving pet care and dog walking services since 2010, with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. My background started in childcare as a nanny, where caring for the family’s pets naturally became part of the role. Over the years, that grew into extensive pet care experience including walks, drop-in visits, in-home care, vet visits, administering medications, basic training reinforcement, and grooming support. Caring for animals is more than just a side job for me—it’s something I truly enjoy. I love building trust with both pets and their owners, and I take pride in being dependable, consistent, and attentive to each pet’s unique personality and needs. Whether your dog needs exercise, companionship, routine care, or just a reliable person while you’re away, I’m here to help and treat them like family. I had the pleasure of being a stay-at-home mom to my 3 children for the last 12 years. I'm slowly merging back into the working world (part-time for now), but my dream would be to care for pets full-time. Currently, I'm available during the days my children are at school (8:30a.m.- 4p.m.) Monday-Friday. And 2 weekends out of the month, I'm completely available. Please let me know what you're looking for and there's a good chance I can make it happen, even outside these hours. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by adhering to their usual routines, whether that's in my home or yours. I will follow all instructions carefully--feeding schedules, medication needs, potty breaks, walks, etc. In a client's home, I'm very respectful of your space. I keep things clean, stick to agreed-upon areas, and make sure everything is left exactly how I found it. Safety and security for both you and your pet is my priority. I will monitor gates and doors, making sure they are secured as need be. When walking, I stay alert in the environment, monitoring all my surroundings. Your pet(s) will get plenty of TLC, attention, and playtime, taking note of their individual temperament and what it's calling for. Communication is very important to me. I will always send updates and photos so owners feel confident and at ease while they're away.

“This is my third booking with Kiarra in the past couple of months due to lots of summer travel. She provided daily pictures and updates as usual. During this booking, when she was concerned about the auto-feeders not dispensing food, she let me know and adjusted the camera I use to check in on the kitties at various times to the food bowl so that I would be able to verify Smokey's food was getting dispersed at the correct time. She's been great with my cats and I will continue to use her for future bookings.”

About: Hi! I’m Kasey Bre, a lifelong dog lover with experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I offer both boarding in my home and in-home care at the client’s home so your pup can stay where they’re most comfortable. I will say, I have my rate on the higher end for a reason. The pups that will get along best here and the ones treated like a family member. They’ll have a seat at the table, they can snuggle in the bed, and if they want to go for a swim in the pool- they can jump right in. My 3 year old dog obsessed mini me and myself, want to make your pups time with us like a vacation all of their own! We love taking them out to dog parks, restaurants, baseball games…if you or the dog prefers us staying around the house, we have a huge fenced in yard with an in-ground swimming pool. We’ll throw all the balls and even have your babe feeling like a hero after “saving us from drowning”. That will go to a pups head quickly though so you’ve been warned! If they get along well with other dogs, our neighboring pups love coming over to play! In our home lives Levi, our gentle 11-year-old Labrador. He’s very sweet, docile from his old age, and mostly keeps to himself downstairs due to his aging joints. Visiting dogs will mainly hangout and sleep with us upstairs but I like to mention Levi just to ensure your pup is okay with another dog in the home. I have hands on experience with potty training, basic skills training, administering medications (pills, liquids, and other methods), senior care, and energetic puppies. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every dog like they’re part of our family. If you’re in a training process, I’m happy for you to show me the techniques you use and keep it up while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your fur baby! It honestly bothers me when I know someone is just trying to pocket a little money watching someone’s little love and are not actually dog loving people. I can assure you, your dog will not feel an ounce of sadness while you’re away because we’ll keep them too busy doing fun and positive things and smothered with love from strangers, by the time they realize what’s going on- you’ll be back for them 🥰I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your dog is in great hands. No promises you won’t receive a pic with your pup wearing a towel and cucumbers on their eyes though! I’m currently a SAHM starting a little handmade and upcycling business so my schedule is pretty open and very flexible! We offer meet and greets so if you’ve never left your baby with anyone, or even if you have, you’re both welcome to come meet us and check out the space where they would be while you’re gone, ahead of time. Send us a message if you’d like to chat more or set something up with us! Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine, allowing for consistent supervision, attention, and flexibility. I’m home throughout the day and structure my schedule around feeding times, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and rest so each pet’s normal routine is followed as closely as possible. We’ll throw in some random fun outings with approval 🙂 Boarded pets receive around the clock care and attention, regular and anytime potty breaks, supervised playtime and swimming time, and plenty of quiet downtime in the evenings. I’m happy to accommodate specific schedules, including medications, special feeding instructions, or preferred routines to help your pet feel comfortable and secure. For in-home care, I follow your pet’s established schedule in their own environment to minimize stress and maintain consistency. Whether your pet is energetic, senior, or more independent, I adjust care to meet their individual needs. I never show up empty handed so they’ll be super excited to see me coming! I aim to provide dependable, over the top care that feels safe and comforting so you can enjoy your time away without stressing and worrying about your babe. My goal is for it to never be an issue for you to go on a trip because your pup will see the suitcase and know they’re going on a mini vacay of their own! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take a thoughtful, proactive approach to care, whether pets are staying in my home or I’m caring for them in theirs. In my home, dogs are supervised and get to hangout in a fun and loving environment. The big fenced in yard, comfy dog beds and even our beds, there’s nothing they could ever get into that could or would hurt them. We have cameras around the inside and outside of the home for an added layer of safety! In your home, I respect your space and follow your instructions flawlessly. I maintain your pet’s normal routine, keep doors and gates secure, and provide attentive-reliable care while keeping your home tidy and secure. I’m always mindful of safety during walks, feedings, and playtime. I only accept pets who are a good fit for my home and family environment, and I communicate openly with pet parents before and during care. You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and messages so you always know how your pet is doing and what’s going on. My goal is to create a safe, trustworthy, fun and loving experience where both pets and their hoomans feel completely at ease and want to come back!

About: I’ve take care of all kinds of animals (dogs, cats, reptiles) since I was 10 years old. I have always been a trustworthy person to take care of your beloved family member. About: I have grown up with all types of animals; cats, dogs, hamsters, birds, and even horses! I take pet care very seriously and enjoy getting to know new fur babies and their personalities. I can drop in in the afternoons around lunch and in the evenings during the week, and on weekends I am free all day to check on your pets. I will make sure your pets get love and attention and not just a quick pop in visit (unless specifically requested). I like to make sure the pet feels safe and secure in their environment while I take care of them

About: I've been around and cared for animals my entire life, growing up with both dogs and cats. I still help care for my family's pets and also have a cat of my own, so caring for animals is a big part of my everyday life. I also grew up near neighbors who fostered dogs and puppies, and I loved spending time helping socialize and play with their foster puppies. This gave me experience being around puppies of different breeds, sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I'm comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, litter box care, puppy care, and keeping pets company while their owners are away. I'm patient, dependable, attentive, and understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I'll always follow your care instructions closely and treat your pets with the same kindness and attention I'd want for my own. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care throughout the week. I'm available for weekday walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting, as well as many evenings and weekends. I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, so incorporating walks and pet care into my routine is something I'd genuinely enjoy! Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine will always be my priority. When caring for pets in a client's home, I'll carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, and household rules. I understand that every pet is different, so I'll take the time to learn their personality and make sure they feel comfortable with me. I'll also keep you updated (with lots of pictures if needed!) while you're away so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - West Smithfield

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Pet Sitting in West Smithfield is $26 per visit as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $18 and $26 per visit. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 3,194 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across West Smithfield. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Smithfield. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
